DsMom2020- Good to see you on here. You had a busy weekend. I will have to get out there in my yard as well and get the yard ready for winter and clean up the leaves.  :)

Yes, it is different when our loved ones aren't  with us. It does feel weird when they are not there.

My sister in law loves that show. Enjoy!!

Chipmunk- Hey, hope your day was good.

  • DsMom2020

Thanks Partyofseven. I do have to say that although I miss my boy immensely, it does not hurt like it did at the beginning of this journey. I was literally so anxious because I didn’t know what to expect. This site is amazing and helped so much. You ladies helped me through it.. As long as he is happy, I am happy.

  • Northwoodsmom

Good morning Ladies, another one in the books. They wanted their dog included. One more next week and I should be done for this year

  • partyofseven

Good Morning Ladies and welcome to our moms and to the ones that joined this weekend as well. If you can't find the links that I posted earlier please let us know and we will gladly post them again. Things can get lost in the shuffle and it's no problem to post them again.

Keep those phones on you at all times as we had a lot of calls come thru over the weekend. Turn those ringers on loud and answer every call you just never know.

Keeping busy is the key and start writing now so when you get your form letter you can send those letters off right away. I would number them also so your SR (Seaman Recruit) knows what order they are in.

Northwoodsmom- Good Morning and that cake is beautiful!! I love that they included their dog, how cool is that.

D'sMom2020- You are very welcome. And yes it does get a little easier as time goes on. We never stop missing them but it doesn't hurt like it did at the beginning of boot camp.

Phoenximom- Hope your weekend was good. It was a bummer about our Cards thou. My Eagles won, but my Dolphins did not.

How did your teams fare out ladies?

Anti M- Thanks for sharing when we were talking about the holidays. I did remember right? Lol And yes it will be different this year. I love your stories to.

Shanny, LBF, BBH, Chipmunk, VintageGal, C'sMoM2020, Good Morning.

    unicornlily05, How are you?

Happy Monday another day closer to PIR.

  • Shanny

Good Morning everyone!!!  I can finally get the site to load this morning!
I am a little sad today because I know my communication is probably going to be a lot slower and a lot less starting today. His week of waiting for classes stops today as class starts. I totally soaked it all in while I could!

so, my sailor and his roommates told me last night to highly suggest to everyone that they watch Making a Sailor on YouTube. They watched it together last night and said that is EXACTLY how things happen. Including some of the same exact phrases and lines they used. The one guy said it was major flashbacks. They were laughing in the videos my son sent me of them watching it. But agree that is reality and not just put on for the video.
They went to the beach yesterday. Sounds like they had fun. He told me the beach volleyball is all Top Gun (my favorite movie of all time) and promised me video next time they go lol leave it to my kid to think of his Mom. I told him those guys are way too young for his old mom. And he said it is mostly the pilots so not too bad. “You won’t go to jail mom”. I feel the love!

hope everyone has a great day with calls and letters!

  • Shanny

Oh and in football...  my Lions set a record yesterday!  The only team to lose 6 games in a row after holding a double digit lead!  Why do we keep following and supporting them?!?

  • C'sMom

D'sMom, just to clarify.  We got letters last week and his 4 week phone call yesterday.  But it was great! I really hope you get a phone call soon!  At this point now, I'm kind of hoping for no more phone calls, because if we get one, it could be because he's going back into ROM!  I'm hanging onto "No news is good news!"

This is just a quick check-in.  About to leave to go all-day shopping with my daughter!  I'm not spending any money.  Just helping her spend hers!  Lol

  • Velvetenor

    Good morning, all!

DsMom2020 - I was excited about the return of TWD last night, too, although we didn't actually watch it last night - we recorded it and saved it for tonight. We've been watching TWD since the beginning, too, although there were times we stopped watching since it just didn't seem as good as earlier seasons, but we always picked up again after seeing trailers for new seasons.

Northwoodsmom - Gorgeous cakes!! You are so talented with the decorations, and I'm sure they are yummy, too!! Hope you and your family are all doing well.

Regarding holiday leave - my son is a Nuke at GC and he is hearing rumblings about possibly being able to take leave at Christmas, and maybe even Thanksgiving, but right now they are restricted to the state of SC and they are also prohibited from flying commercial, so they would still need to ease up on those restrictions for him to come home. Note also that if your Nuke will be in-between schools at the holidays (INDOC or T-Track), then it may be harder for them to get leave at the holidays - or the leave may be shorter - since those sailors are the ones that stand watch and do other essential jobs on base. Of course, this is the only perspective I have from my son at Nuke school, so I'm sure other bases are different, but I figured I'd share for any BC moms with soon-to-be Nukes.

Partyofseven - My football team is the Steelers, and they did not get to play this weekend due to some Titans players contracting COVID. This is going to be a very tricky football season, and it's not looking good so far with COVID spreading among the players. The NBA did it right by having their players in a "bubble" for the remainder of their season, but that would be a logistical nightmare for the NFL, so I am not sure what the rest of the season will look like!

Phoenixmom - thinking of you today and hoping you are feeling better.

  • LadyBluefire

CsMom - that is so good he is doing well and sounding upbeat! The calls never feel long enough. My daughter loved her A school food - she used to be able to have custom made omelets but people complained about the food line so now it is the powdered egg type omelettes, lol. Have fun spending your daughter’s moolah!

Shanny - good to hear your son views boot camp as just a bad memory. It is like night and day! Yay for daily texts!!

Vintage - hoping you get your call today! And that he is in my son’s division, lol! HOw was your little one’s soccer game?

Dsmom - the first call was a reward call, this week was a normal call (though the rumor was they lost the call privileges but by doing so well at Marlinspike they earned it back) and next week will be a reward if they do call. SB letters as far as coming back to us takes the same time, it is getting to RTC that is quicker, but once at RTC it still has to go at the mail room pace.

We used to buy the current season of TWD on Google Play but I think this season we will wait til it hits Netflix. (We have not had cable in 12 years) Though I’d like to buy it, lol. My ringtone for #3 is the theme song. I just caught up to FTWD on Hulu - the season we meet Ginny and where Darryl is on it.

I wish we could get rid of our hot tub = it has been in need of repair for over a year and it is just an eyesore!

Northwoodsmom - how adorable is that cake??!!! Did you make the dog out of modeling chocolate or fondant?

Anti M - goodness what century are people living in if they can’t believe a woman was in the Navy?

Party - I despise paperwork. Around 2002 I bought a scanner and scanned ALL my papers and photos. They are backed up in 3 different places. I try and scan papers as soon as they come in = and at one point 4 kids were doing home school and had lots of papers I scanned. The problem is I have to do something after I scan them and Facebook and N4M is tempting to be on so I am easily distracted. So, I have decided to spend an hour a day on my computer but no FB or e mail opened so  I do not get distracted, lol.

Shanny - too funny your kid trying to hook you up with Navy pilots! My husband did flight school many moons ago and EVERY Friday they watched Top Gun , lol.

    Good morning everyone else!!!!!!!!

  • Chipmunk

Good Morning everyone!! I hope your had an enjoyable weekend, communication with our loved ones is always wonderful!

I have enjoyed reading everyone's posts! Thanks for sharing!

For those who have sent your loved one off to BC, this silence is very hard. Please do not hesitate to come by and share your feelings and ask questions. Since we all have busy lives and answer when we can - remember to come back and check in as we might not be able to answer your question right away. But you are not alone!!

Regarding Making a Sailor video - That is good to hear that it is spot on!  While my son was in DEP, he was to have watched some similar videos, so if your loved one has not left yet, it would be a good idea to have them watch the videos.

Regarding Holiday Leave - Each command will have their own specific leave instructions and as Anti M and Velvetenor mentioned, even at a command, not everyone is going to be able to have the same leave opportunities either. The best source of information is going to be from your sailor.

  • VintageGal

    Good morning ladies,

Shanny - I loved your post! Lol that is hysterical- the beach volleyball was all Top Gun :) it was mostly the pilots ;) Rawr! Lol

I watched Making of a Sailor sometime before he left while he was at work and boy were there some tears!
I’m glad you got to post!!

Northwoodsmom - Another beautiful cake! You’re so talented :)

C’smom2020 - Enjoy your girls day!!

Partyofseven- thank you for the verse. I look forward to these from you and Pheonixmom :) have a good day! Could have a three day weekend please!

Davesmom- sounds like you a wonderful productive weekend! I completely agree, I’m also looking forward to the holidays but aching inside knowing that he won’t be here for them. We’ll see what we can make happen! :)

velvet- thanks for the info regarding holiday leave. We’ll wait and see! :)

Ladybluefire - oh boy do I hope I get that call! :)

well as for my son’s soccer game he hasn’t played for four years and they were playing indoor because that’s all that’s available right now. Let’s just say they played an all girls club soccer team and got their butts handed to them. These boys play recreationally and those girls play SERIOUSLY. Luckily my son wasn’t too upset but he said mom just don’t tell anybody we got whooped by girls LOL

Chipmunk, Anti M, Pheonixmom, Belovedbyhim, kristel2400, C’smom2020, B’sNukeMom, MaterNauta - good morning! Have a wonderful Monday!!

Welcome to all our new moms!!

Good Luck my boy going into your new division today!!!

  • Kristel2400

    Funny story .....

I checked my email for my USPS ID to find that not only am I getting 2 letters today BUT also a envelope from phila parking authority speed camera enforcement program LOL WHAAAAAAT?! When?? GRRR.  Soooooo I don’t know that I’ll be running to my mailbox today. ARGH!! Dammit!

    that was all for now

  • Anti M

I love TWD and FTWD, but after my husband died, I had trouble watching, it was too intense.  So I am far, far behind and need to catch up. It didn't help I wasn't digging some of the newer developments.

I need to get dressed and go out to tidy up the veggie garden.  My landscaper cleaned it up, as I had neglected it, but the windstorm last month filled it up with debris.  I need to get all that up before the tree drops her leaves.  She's a 50+ year old maple, although she's a little lighter after dropped big branches this summer.  My fence is still a twisted mess, and the neighbor's dog growls at me the whole time I am outside.  Poor untrained thing is always angry.

  • DsMom2020

C'sMom - In re-reading your post, I have no idea why I thought you got two phone calls. It is so hard to keep track of all the chatter! Well - I hope you get an extra earned call this weekend - but I am with you, at this point, no news is good news. If my phone rings with an 847 area code now, I think my heart will drop to my shoes.

Velvetenor - I agree some seasons were hardly worth watching, but we toughed it out. When my son would come home from college and watch them with me, he would complain how bad it was, and threaten to stop watching with me. But we kept at it as it was our time together. That has always been our thing together - watching scary movies or war movies.

Kristel - so sorry about the ticket.....

Shanny/VintageGal - odd thing is, I did not see Shanny's original post. Sometimes that happens - I see comments and wonder what I missed... I read the posts via my email and just come to the page when I want to comment. I think some of the emails go to spam for some odd reason.

My niece was on a girls club soccer team - they won President's Cup in 2013. I coached my son's AYSO Pacific Club team. I asked her coach to play us, but he declined as he did not want to risk injury to his players. I can tell you they would have creamed us (they were 2 years older, bigger and better). It was a fun time tho, attending all those soccer games.

Everyone - have a great day.

  • Katharine

Oh boy did I have a lot to catch up on! I just do not seem to have time to read N4M on the weekends. I probably do, but guilt keeps me away. Hubby works so hard all week (regular job plus side company) and spends sooooo much time on the weekend doing house things that I feel guilty taking any time to read or look at the internet, or anything else indulgent (even working out sometimes). I used to be able to keep pace with him, but a cocktail of autoimmune issues has decreased my stamina a bit.

Kristel - glad to hear things are going better with your SR.

Shanny - maybe he mentioned the beach scene to encourage you to come down to visit sooner???

Vintage  - re soccer. My older son had a girl that played recreational basketball with him from ages 3-10. She chose boys because she was better than any girl and most boys. My son knew his job .... get the ball and pass it to Darrin. We moved away, and at his first game in the new place, he got the ball and froze .... who would he pass it to. It never occurred to him to SHOOT. Girls at the club level are even more dangerous and intense ... no shame in losing to them.

D'sMom - I got one phone call at 6 weeks and that is it. From his letters, he has been perfect on inspections, and he has not earned any extra calls. I still have only 1 of the 5 or 6 letters that he sent. Now that I finally have his address, I hope he got some of the 10 that I mailed last week.

Northwoods - that cake is absolutely gorgeous!!!

I did "watch" football this weekend. I had it going on my phone, and when something exciting happened, I watched it on the replay. My concussion still doesn't let me do much more than that. My Gators won, and my Hawks won, but I really don't care nearly as much about them. I have never respected our coach, and that respect level just keeps falling.

I did get my pickles done this weekend (only 20 jars this year ... they are very late this year. If I had another 2 weeks of summer, I would have so many more cukes and toms. I also picked cored, and froze almost 200 apples. I am doing them poco a poco until they are all off and I am ready for cidering. I still have enough frozen apples from last year to bake 40 or 50 desserts:(. I thought this was going to be the off year for apples, but the trees did better than ever. I am SO sick of apples. All my neighbors have dozens, I brought them to my doc, my masseuse, my dentist. I even gave a few dozen to the men that brought my washer and dryer last week. I get a haircut tomorrow .... my stylist will get dozens too.

The concussion and some other issues have shown me that I am still too inflamed, so today begins my 2-month trial of carnivore. This should be a fun experiment. I have read that it is fantastic for all kinds of autoimmune and intestinal issues too (celiac and IBD are another of my AI problems, but they have been calm since I tried parasites), so just good for me all around. I won't even be able to eat the apples now (that's okay ... I really am sick of them!!).

Now back to work (and catching up on emails while hubby  is busy).

May we all get letters and calls this week!!

  • LadyBluefire

Vintage - don’t worry, we won;t tell your son you told us he got whooped by girls, lol

Kristel - oooooh you were speeding!!!!  LOL. We ran a red light years ago as we drove thru Baton Rouge, but the timing between yellow and red was ridiculously quick. We just never drove that way again in that vehicle, lol. Just grab those nice letters and leave the rest behind for now, lol.

Katharine - sounds like you have been quite busy in the kitchen!  I assume Carnivore means only eating meat? I had such bad IBD issues that went away once I tried Readers Digest 21 day Tummy. I have an AI disorder and also a few more that I am expecting as I get older. I can;t have just ONE, I am an over achiever! My mom and sis have Sjogrens and RA…

Oooh I made it one whole hour or more without being distracted - do not feel like I did much but I did something.

  • Chipmunk

    Hi All!!

D'sMom2020 - Yes, sometimes my email feed for N4M goes to my spam folder. But also, if you are set to have email feed and a comment is posted it will be in your email feed, however, the member may have deleted their comment for whatever reason but you still have the message in your email.

LBF - I am still being distracted.

Katharine - Glad you accomplished some but I would take apples if I was closer!

  • Katharine

Chipmunk - I soooooooo wish you would. I just stepped out on my coffee/sunshine break, and picked another 15 pounds and there are still close to 200 on the trees. My deep freezer is full, I have room for about 10 pounds in my kitchen freezer still, and then I will vacuum seal and refrigerate. I am also bringing some to groceries this week for my favorite bagger and cashier and deli guy and seafood gal. Despite everything, I am even bringing some to the post office this afternoon (I promise to not poison them)

  • Chipmunk

Katharine - LOL!! Re: PO! - Not sure if you want to mess with shipping apples my direction, but I hope you can share. In the past, prior to closures, our area has had a local town farmers market, also harvest tables at the churches. I don't know if there are any homeless shelter areas or food programs that maybe you could donate some of your abundance to or not.

As for the weekend, there are times I have more opportunity to comment on the weekends, than during the weeks. I like LadyBluefire am on my computer a lot during the week and can get easily distracted. I am going to have to make some major changes though, so I may not be posting as much during the day time. So, everyone - we help each other out here, posting as we are able and sharing what we can!

  • Northwoodsmom

Katherine, I wish I lived closer to take some of those apples off your hands. Was hoping for a break from baking for a week but my husband's friends begged me to bring my famous apple slices to a fireworks exhibit this weekend so no rest for me this weekend and next weekend is another cake. They are suppose to be bringing me apples because I don't have time to run the 50 miles to the store. Hoping they don't get delicious, men don't know anything about baking.

Kristel, I am sure I will be getting a toll charge, there was construction and my husband couldn't get over to pay the toll and he went right through and there was a sign that said pay your toll on line. Well I don't do anything on line, we don't have internet. I use the schools if there is something important but I don't see  that as important, if they want their money they can send me a bill for 4 dollars.

  • partyofseven

Shanny- I loved that story. I know my Dolphins are not faring well either. Ugh. But I still keep watching them.  :)

C'sMoM2020- Have fun spending her money. Lol Have a great day!!

Velvetenor- I know right? Ugh. that was crazy but I'd rather them be safe than not. I wish they could do it like the basketball owners did, but I imagine it would be very tricky with football.  :)

LadyBluefire- I know paper work is the worse. Now, if I don't need it, it doesn't even make it to the table. lol

VintageGal- Yes we need a three day weekend right now. lol You are very welcome as always. It's always good to have prayers to start our morning off.  :)

We won't say anything about the girls game!! Lol Here's to your SR starting in a new division. :)

kristel2400- We got one of those when we were traveling in California one year. I was like what is this??? Lol It seems like it takes a while for you to get one!!!

    Anti M- Awe poor dog.

DsMom2020- Good Morning, that happens to my email sometimes to. Have a good day as well.

Katharine- Hope this works and you continue to feel better. That is a lot of apples and yes please don't poison them when you take some to the post office. Lol

I wish I lived closer to, I would definitely take some off your hands. We love apples and love baking with them. There just so good for you.  :)

B'sNukeMoM MMN- Hey, Thank you for posting the October PIR groups. You Rock!!!

    Phoenixmom- Thinking of you today.

  • LadyBluefire

Chipmunk - step away from N4M!

Party - I am the same way, from mailbox to trash. Then the rest lays on my desk. Now if I could only just scan it the moment I get it - but my scanner has to “wake up”.  I did toss my 3 tiered inbox I had on my desk. Now it is less cluttery looking.

Luckily noone was chatty this weekend which helped keep me off the site, lol.

So one anecdote from this weekend. My 11 yr old comes to me and told me while he was on a bike this big bear was ambling down the road (right now they are in the stage where they fill up before winter) and my son stopped and started yelling at the bear to go away and the bear obliged. We have chased them down in the past with our cars and they don;t care so he got real lucky. I was not thrilled when he told me!

  • Chipmunk

A quick note about Toll Charges - I would not ignore them. Some places will rack those prices up and add HUGE penalty fines!!

  • belovedbyHim

Shanny—Yes communications will slow down.  Glad he got to see the videos and they reflect the reality even with COVID.  On the Top Gun note, My DH was at Mira Mar when they were filming the Movie.  They got to watch the motorcycle scene.  I loved the movie until he told me how awful TC was to the Pilots and Enlisted personnel!  Would not sign autographs, Had the Pilots kicked out of their lounge and refused to acknowledge enlisted who were assigned various tasks including providing safety briefings on the flight line! (It is an Active Military Airfield after all!!) After that I read more about him and now I refuse to watch his movies.  If he cannot extend an ounce of himself to those who keep this country free I don’t need to contribute a dollar to his lifestyle.

Congratulations to all those who had visiting phone calls this weekend!!  Hoping to hear from the small group of moms who are supposed to have PIR this week!! Fingers crossed for the Sailor call soon!!

Next week will be a BIG PIR week for this group-- I am showing 6 of you... I think that's right.  So Hoping you do NOT get a call this week (it would likely be a Covid  call ;( )

  • MaterNauta

Beloved, AntiM, and Party: *thank you* for your input (Navy apparel for relatives)!!

  • MinQiMom

Daughter's PIR is 11/6/20 - anyone else out there with the same date?

  • Shanny

    • BelovedbyHim: I heard TC was a huge jerk with the making of Maverick. Made me sad because I have been looking forward to a sequel all these years...  that makes me angry. Because that has been my favorite movie since it came out.  I thought he was still basically decent back then before he became a “star” and discovered his crazy side
    • well, my son called after his first class today and has classed up. I told him I didn’t know what that meant and he said all I needed to know is he is still on schedule to graduate and move on with the same dates he told me before.
he was also told to start prepping for a hurricane. So he and the roommates went to the NEX after classes for supplies. I said only him..  seriously has a tornado touch down outside their hotel during quarantine and now a hurricane. The boy does love weather extremes!
    • i seriously don’t know what I’d do if I saw a bear!!!  My son saw one when he was on vacation with some friends last summer. But it was walking down the side of the toad they were driving on...  yep, they look cute and cuddly but I am thinking no thanks!!!
cant believe we have so many with PIR coming up!!!  So exciting!!  I seriously stalked the pages waiting to see the recording so I could find him!  So excited for all of you!
  • Shanny

MinQiMom:  Welcome to the board!!!  You have found a great group to talk through this crazy journey!  Feel free to jump on in and ask any questions you may have, or just chat away. The lovely ladies here are amazing!

I am sure someone will jump in with some good info for you!  My son graduated bootcamp 9/24/2020 but I can’t seem to leave this group!  Welcome!

  • Chipmunk

    Good evening everyone!!

Shanny - Thanks for reaching out and welcoming MinQiMom! - I shared some things with her already in main chat and on her page.

MinQiMom - We don't have a PIR group set up for Nov yet, but please stick around and don't hesitate to keep asking. Not everyone manages to receive their FL at the same time, so it may take a bit for all 11/6/20 PIR letters to be received.

Shanny - to "Class up" just means that  your sailor has transitioned from BC and possible INDOC time after arriving at their A school, to when they start their classes for A school.

LBF - I took a little bit of a break!

  • Chipmunk

So, I was working on my own PERSEC over the weekend. But we are back home from a wonderful time away to visit with our grandbaby and family!!! I really needed to get some little hugs and give raspberry kisses!!  They grow up so fast!!  I also had communication from my sailor and that was a blessing as well!

I will say though, I am going to need to start working on major projects around the house, so I have to change my habits with time on the site, so I will more likely post later in the evening, but we shall see how well that works. But if I don't post during the day, I am occupying my time elsewhere.

  • Shanny

Chipmunk:  thank you for that explanation!  The terminology throws me sometimes..  Sometimes he talks to me like I should know all of the terminology and I’m a bit lost sometimes

AntiM commented about undesignated sailors.  My son went in Undesignated because the job he wanted kept being postponed and he figured if he got in, he'd at least be 'progressing'.  He remained in that label while at his first duty station [Norfolk] on a ship that did one small sail in the Atlantic [2-3 days] before being dry docked.  He then was part of a crew that unloaded gear - moving things on gurneys, rollers etc. Stowing wherever they were told.  A week or so afterwards, he and a few others were chipping paint, then painting.  He shared photos of the burn marks he got on his wrist before he learned to keep it covered.  Many other things learned.  Never got tagged with cranking.  They were sleeping on a barge which was being over-run with rats, but he worked with a few people to create 'rat repellant' by using cafeteria trays on the tie lines making a 'gate' that the rats couldn't get over without falling into the water.  Made him a lot of friends as a result!  A few weeks later he was able to move to a room in barracks which was essentially 2 separate bedrooms, shared kitchen, shared bathroom.  He stayed there while the ship finished it's upgrades and was readied for sea trials.  Once they were at sea, still undesignated, he learned to pilot the ship, all along the Atlantic from Norfolk, to the Bahamas to Norway and back.  We laughed about our son, who didn't have a driver's license, weaving between the fjords in Norway. As they were making their way back from their shake out maneuvers, he was tagged to go to MA school, and flew back to Norfolk to head there.  All told he was undesignated for about 15 months.  C School for MA, then to Bahrain for 16 months, re-enlisted and is now at his current duty station.

Just sharing our experience, so people would understand more about that path.

Henry's Mom - Thanks for sharing!!!

Shanny - You are welcome! Our sailors have a way of realizing that we learn a lot on this site. And sometimes they assume we know. I had to laugh the other day, my sailor was sharing some information with me that I wasn't sure if I wanted to hear or not and he replied - "Semper Gumby"!! Because he knows I share that a lot on here!

  • Shanny

Chipmunk: that is hilarious!  Mine asked if he could join and I told him no he wasn’t a mom. And he said he would probably learn more on here!  Oh I have to ask you something but I’ll message you since it involves another sailor as well as mine...

Good Evening Ladies and welcome to our new moms that just joined.

    MaterNauta- No problem. :)

Shanny- I had heard the same thing about him while filming Top Gun. I was not happy that's for sure. I don't know what I would do if I saw a bear either. Lol

Thank you for welcoming our new mom. I wasn't able to pist right away. :) Mine always thinks we know to much!!! Lol

I loved what yours said. That was awesome.

Henry- thanks so much for sharing your experiences. It does help when one is undesignated and your not sure exactly what that means. Kudos to your Sailor.

I will get the November 2020 PIR group up sometime this week.

  • belovedbyHim

Shanny-- Sorry to burst your bubble but TC has always been a jerk.
Actually I show 6 moms for this week and 4 for next week! I was trying to remember when was our big group.
We have had a bear in our neighborhood and we are Suburban Denver! (Not my exact location however) We are not in the mountains and it was wild!!

I hope that any hurricanes end up missing them!! The Gulf Coast does not need any more hits!! Did you read the Navy Speak page on here? It’s up and to the left. That may help you learn some of the lingo you are struggling with.

Henry's Mom-- Thanks for sharing your sailors experience. Undesignated is NOT a bad thing if your ultimate goal is to serve in the Navy! He got to try loads of stuff he otherwise would not have and he got paid to try different jobs!! Cool about his creative solutions and driving the ship!!

    MinQiMom-- Welcome.

Ellen0502 - Thank you!! I believe we have some new members with Nov PIRs so that will be very helpful.

Partyofseven - I busted up laughing at your "post" , I don't think your fingers were working late last night!

Shanny - I replied to your message. Sorry I did not see it before I retired from the computer for the evening.

I will do my best to check in periodically through the day as I am able, but it may only be to reply to my PMs. I am working on my new habits - so the more we all share helping each other the better!!

    Pheonixmom - Hugs!!

    Good morning ladies!

    Catching up this morning :)

Dsmom2020 - How fun that you got to coach! My husband and I had a blast when we coached my son’s Little League T-ball team. Definitely wasn’t Club level though.
competitive girls are wicked to watch. I’d have to see if these little boys were shocked ;)

Partyofseven- Amen! I’ll pass along this along to my coworker keeps complaining and throwing shade  :) (teen talk lol)

Chipmunk- I’m interested in this post you don’t want to share now LOL ;)

ladybluefire - Holy moly a bear?! I Bet your stomach dropped!

shanny - I hope him and his mate stay safe and that there isn’t any damage coming. I’d have to say your boys had quite the adventure so far!

Henry’s mom - thanks for the insight! Ew rats! Sounds morbid but how cool that your son came up with a plan to lead those rats to their doom.

welcome to all of our new moms!

i’m not one that usually has a sweet tooth but I bought the cutest snoopy sugar cookies yesterday and popped a couple in the oven this morning to have with my coffee and breakfast. Yummm - Smiling face emoji with tongue sticking out - hahaha

  • VintageGal

    Dsmom2020 - I don’t know if I’m OCD but I can’t let little things go sometimes.
The sentence was supposed to be - I’d have to say these little boys were shocked!

BTW, we didn’t get a call from my son yesterday, coming out of quarantine, going into his new division. I guess no news is good news and I hope it actually happened!

Burned my blue candle Sunday night thinking of him going into his new division. (Sigh)

  • Shanny

VintageGal:  it sure has been a crazy ride!  But I have been assured they are ready for anything. I hope your boy has made it out of quarantine and in the thick of training!  No news is good news. I know it gets so old hearing that but I have a feeling we will be saying it, thinking it and living it for a very long time!

C'sMom2020:  ASMO is one i have never figured out...  Semper Gumby is exactly what you are thinking...  Always Flexible..  go with the flow..

  • Shanny

VintageGal: i forgot to say...  I have enough of a sweet tooth for all of us!  But your cookies sound amazing!  I really want to make some caramel apple dip for apples but it makes so much and my sailor isn't here to eat it with me and I can't even come close to eating it all. I may say or well and make it anyway because it REALLY seems to be calling to me today. And yesterday...  and Sunday too. I'm kind of obsessive

  • Phoenixmom
