Morning Prayer for Mrs. PartyofSeven's scripture below, Thank You PartyofSeven!
Dear Heavenly Father, I give you glory in all times. Help me Lord to give thanks always, even in times of tribulation. When Satan brings temptation, teach me to endure. Help me build the perseverance to know that your glory will always win. In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen.

Quick question, does anyone remember the post about someones SR spending $900+ on pictures? I want to add my son to the list! Over $700, ugh!!! He said "I bought everything I thought mom would like". Starting to think some of these kids are having an urge to spend even if it's just pictures LOL

Kim - lol on the photos! I saw on FB one mom was mad her son bought NONE of the photos out of rebellion for them not being in dress blues...
We will be retaking them so thankfully ours did not spend TOO much though my youngest spent more than necessary to avoid getting the Keel...

So I am a perfectionist and this has errors but has added info from my daughter. AROC leads cadences not just sings them.
I also did not like "666" in the diagram. LOL
Added Guidon and PFC as they are important sailors my son left out.

Kristel2400
@kim....mine said he bought approx $400 worth of pictures, etc. but there won’t be a dvd, which is fine. I just laughed. He said if he had them mailed home it would be 8 weeks before we’d get them so I think he’s getting them. Sigh.... so I said well your going to have to send them home to me. Oh boy, I hope I get the pictures in this lifetime!

Ohhh. THERE IS A NEW SAILOR IN THE ROOM!!!
Congratulations Kristel!!!!
well, my sailor called and they are at Hurricane Readiness 1 now and the base locks down at 1:00. They can leave their rooms to hang out with others on their floor but that’s it and not until their attendance is verified. They are expect 100 + mph winds.
not going to call doctor on my back. Still stiff and hurts but much better. I have bumps in one area but they don’t look like the ones I had before when I had shingles. (Had my mom take a pic so I could see it).
the pictures... they are an insane amount. Mine ordered the Package A and a frame. That’s it. He said it would be easy to go overboard though because they tell them to buy what their mom would want them to get... blackmail I tell ya lol

Partyofseven -Thank you! I appreciate it!
I'm going to slip into my Navy Mom shirt!
My SAILOR said that he spent $300 on his package and that he got something that he knows I'll love!
In his letter he said that "The stress is getting heavy with all the training and responsibilities that I have ...wink..." sooooo I'm guessing that he has the RPOC job and that would be a surprise but that we'll definitely see him in the graduation walk. YAY!

Vintage and Kristel - That's what I'm talking about!!!! Loving new sailors!! How amazing did that call feel? Take deep breaths and bask in your pride because you earned. Welcome aboard ladies.
Btw, We watched "making of a Sailor" again last night and it was so much better to view knowing you have a Sailor!! LOL

Kristel and Vintage, so so happy for you, congratulations. They work so hard for this even though they can't march with pride with their families in the audience they can feel you with them and that pride is shining through. They have made it , probably the worst Boot Camp conditions ever in history and they plowed through it. Remarkable United States Sailors, we all our so proud. Thank you for sharing so much with this group.

Congratulations to All the New Sailors & their families!!!
Prayers for all of us still going through the newness of having a child join & being in boot camp.
I Hope my boy buys pictures when his time comes...he is just not into pictures as Momma is so we shall see...going to cross my fingers anyhow.
Speaking to my eldest child last night & she says she and the hubby probably will not be around for Thanksgiving & possibly Christmas as may be out of town for 1 or both holidays...so a bit emotional already thinking no holidays with the youngest for who knows how long & now the 1st one without him they might be gone too has me a bit over the edge needless to say.
For those who have gotten ornaments please share where you ordered them. I do want to see about getting 1 (or 2) ... looked at ordering a Navy Mom shirt today but, wonder if I should wait until we get that "I'm a Sailor" call as to not jinx the process... silly but...with today's state of mind/emotions that's where I am at.
My oldest daughter understands better than my middle daughter. Middle one is "you're crazy"...and "over the top"...yes, maybe so but, this is all new territory for this Momma.
To each of you who so graciously give support & guidance I can't thank you enough. This is my "safe spot" to feel like I have others who know exactly what I feel & supportive.
Bless each & every one of you generous caring souls.

Northwoodsmom ~ Thank you! I agree, it's a bummer for both of us not being able to be there. I let him know during our phone call that we're having family over to watch him march so he can definitely walk knowing that we're all watching - even if it's the next day. :)
Kim/Troy and everyone - The phone call was great! Seeing Waukegan, IL is overwhelming!!! His siblings and his fiance were here with me to receive his phone call! We had a full 13 minute conversation! He was so happy and exhausted seeing as though he's been up for HOURS! 40? is that right?!
Belovedbyhim ~ Thank you! HA! You are spot on with the extra grey hairs and I just got my hair done a month ago! :) I can't wait for his grad video and pictures!!
Have a nice evening Pheonixmom :)

NewMilMom, if you want a shirt you go buy one, your supporting your recruit where ever he might be in his journey. Proud Navy Mom is anytime when they leave for Boot Camp. My Mom and Dad bought us a bunch of stuff from Patrick's Airforce base, they had Navy stuff at the commencery and we wore it way before my son's PIR and he made it. Your proud of him already by making the choice to serve so let the world know. My daughter never understood either until she saw his PIR live streamed and she became one of his biggest supporter. God Bless and comfort you through this process.

Party - yes a little “overboard” lol.
Shanny - glad your back is getting better….
Kristel - I have seen moms in my sons TG who already got the framed photos...They told my son last week 4-6 months on photos. I really think they try and scare them to mail them from A school. That can be a logistical nightmare as with 2 of my kids they had to go to the NEX to ship packages but could only go to the NEX on liberty and half the time the NEX closed early. If my #4 takes 4 months so be it I guess, hoping not…
No DVD but you can download the youtube video for free, lol.
NewMilMom - they have a choice between smiling/not smiling as both are taken - so put in your request to your SR on what pose you want :) Tell him you will repay him if he wants. Package A is $140 and has more than enough. I tis the only one that includes the Keel cruisebook.
Myornament.com is where I ordered mine and it is 13.99 and free shipping.
BNMH at your holiday situation. Mine may end up being sad and quiet too.
NWM - my dad was stationed at Patrick AFB!!!!!!!! I went to elementary school at Spessard Holland Elem!
Vintage - I am guessing package A, Shadow Box and grad announcements….maybe a coin...

LadyBlueFire- I’m going go on the website and look at all of the products so I can see what you’re talking about. Thanks! So exciting!
NewMilmom - hi there, definitely prayers to you and all of the moms that are still waiting on letters and phone calls and missing your children through this process.
I agree, this is definitely a “safe place” while starting the Navy life journey. I felt like I could come in here at any time and vent cry or laugh about how I was feeling.
In my opinion, do you want makes you happy and whatever makes you feel close to your Sailor Recruit. My favorite things to do was to watch YouTube videos about Navy Boot Camp, go on Pinterest and create a Navy board, I ordered two Navy Mom sweatshirts and two T-shirts off of eBay and then there’s also some fun ones on Etsy. I understand that some don’t wear them until after they’ve gotten the Sailor call but if you want to and you want to feel extra close do your recruit, I say go on ahead. This is your baby and no matter how old they are it feels like a part of you has been taken away. I know that sounds a little dramatic but I know that’s how I feel.
I felt like I was talking about my son all the time and I understand what you mean about the siblings or even hubby thinking it’s a little over the top. That’s why I was SO GRATEFUL to you have all of you ladies to talk to! I then felt like I could quiet down about it at home and spill my guts in here!! Lol I know you all feel that way!
I will look up the ornaments that I bought and share with you the links :)
Also, I remember in one of my letters to my son I told him to definitely buy the pictures and then let him know if there’s anything else that you’d like to have.
We’re all here for you night or day!
