Phoenixmom- Mmmm That sounds wonderful and I love cranberry scent. It smells so good. :)
Yes insurance does cover the testing and there's places here that's free of charge as well.
Thanks for the prayer and scripture. My computer is messing up.

Back to the Good Morning part of the day!!
I hope phone calls and letters are coming today!!
I suppose I need to get the pumpkin rolls made today... i think my niece is coming over to help today. Then the other two will help with turkey stuffing tomorrow. My niece was going to make a cheesecake (and Oh My is it good) then decided to wait to make it when our sailor was home. Maybe she will make it for tomorrow. She is a pretty good cook for being 13 years old.
So i called and found a cell phone kiosk on base so my sailor can get new phone service. He was going to do it when he came home but I called and they told me there is a kiosk on base, the customer service representative even called them to make sure they were open. So that is one job off the list for him
I can't help on the tattoo but they aren't allowed to go to a shop right now anyway. This Navy Mom still momming from 900 miles away!

PhoenixMom:. You can call your doctor and they will make an appointment at a testing site for you if you have trouble finding one. The sites here are free and don’t ask for insurance info at all. But some are by appointment only.

PhoenixMom: sorry your post wasn’t showing!
I really dislike pumpkin pie. The consistency I think is the issue but LOVE pumpkin rolls. My niece says it’s the cream cheese filling lol she may be right. I can share the recipe if you would like it. I have it to a friend of mine and he shared it with his sister. She now sells them for $11 a piece. My Grams used to make them as gifts for friends.

Partyofseven: i will get it to you when I get back inside! Had some strange happenings outside last night and am walking the property to make sure nothing happened. Proud - we are watching and waiting to hear from our sailors and I am also on FB groups for their A schools. Though really it is just family of those who post based on what they hear from their kids so one never knows.
Party - as for FB clean up - I do not use them for photo storage. I post photos there but to share. What I mean by memories is I would post a cute story of something my kids would say. So I took screen shots of all of those things. I have about 600 screen shots from 12 years of Facebook. If there were any photos that were sent to me on FB I would download them. There were about 50 of those. Now they are in my photo albums (I have 3 places my photos go for back up) - gosh maybe more, my computer, photo site, google photos, and my home cloud, and my hubby’s computer.
I would love w/e info you find out about options for the military. I mean why vax against a virus with a 99.9_ survival rate?
Goodness Shanny you were chatty the hour I was gone, lol! Thanks for the info on HPCON. Now, it all depends on when your son has to report to ship. He should “put in for leave” between graduation and report and see what happens. He would be taking a commercial flight and have to ROM anyway Soooooo crosses fingers he can stop in between. It should not matter if you are in a red state or what have you. My #3 graduated A school 11/3 and was to report to duty on 10/22 so lol - it was changed to the 19th so we have 16 glorious days with him. Yes he flew out the day he was to report and no he did not wear his dress blues after he got off the plane. He went to medical and then barracks for ROM.
I finished the fixes for my FILs photos - not sure why I put it off so long.
Now I have things of my own I procrastinated on. I have all of 2020 photos to rename. And I have to admit I have NOT looked at my son’s math all year….so that needs to be done. Strangely though he has written it neater than EVER and that was a big headache. Backing off seems to have helped...or maybe telling him math is important to being a navy pilot.
I have to do my most loathsome chore today and that is grocery shop. I hate it even more these last 9 months.
Oh Shanny do update us on the strange happenings once you investigate!

Shanny
Morning Chipmunk! I hope things are going well with you and your family!!!
partyofseven: I sent the recipe by message to be easier to find!!!
Well, I walked around the house and our garage. Didn't find anything. I think I will park my car in the garage again. My son's truck is parked out there and the tarp was pulled off but that could have been from the high winds we had. I wouldn't worry about it if the flashlight were closer to the road but it was right up by the house. No biggy just strange... I mean the garbage can is out for pick up (yes I paid my $3 and called and they are supposedly sending someone to get the trash today)so if the flashlight broke as they were walking by they could have put it in the can...Not up by the house. Oh well. Will be more vigilant and careful when I walk by dog at night. We usually just go to the back fence and down the driveway so he can potty. Will be staying in the back I think

Good Morning Chipmunk- Hi it's good to see you on here. Hope you and your family are doing well. Have a great day!!
Shanny- Thank you for the recipe and yes please be careful out there at night!!! It sounds like you live in the country. I love it!!
LBF- allright, thank you for letting me know about the fb stuff. And I will. It was a blip from the reporter and I was like what wait say that again. Lol I haven't talked to mine about it yet but Az. is scheduled to receive it Dec.14th. So we will see. Most of my family wants to wait and I personally don't wanna be one of the first ones to get it. So I hope all of our Sailors will have a choice but we will have to wait and see on that one to.
I will be looking today. Good luck at the grocery store it is a mad house. I am done and have been prepping all morning.
Love that photo that's pretty neat!!

Ok so is Everyone doing Black Christmas on Line tonight early morning. I got some great sales at Khol's yesterday. I'm completely done now just to wrap. I'll hand it over to my daughter! LOL! need to start with my Bud's Packages. sending him Immunity packets and snacks. didn't believe how much those Immunity drinks are but it will be much needed.
Nov 25, 2020
Shanny
PhoenixMom since I don’t know where he will be, I am actually waiting on buying anything. I may not participate in family Christmas this year. I have literally only done it in the past for my son but if he isn’t here, I don’t feel the need to go. So I will probably just stay home with my dog. Get him a few toys and some special treats. My son told me to hold off on anything for him until he knows where he will be.
Nov 25, 2020
partyofseven
Phoenixmom- Yes I will. I have been buying some but I want to get as much as I can on Black Friday. I will be hitting online Thursday night.
I'll have to look at Khol's.

Just made my sailor jealous!! I haven’t gone to our local Tex-Mex restaurant since he left. I went today and got some grilled chicken nachos and queso. Picked up some fajitas for my dad. Sent my sailor a picture lol. He was like “Mom that’s just mean.” So I told him the salsa wasn’t very good tonight lol I lied

That is understandable Shanny, so he has no Idea where he will be stationed once A school is out? they are asked if he wants east coast west coast. Bud picked west coast he said it is more Calm. so that is when he got stationed to Coronado Island SD. He has been with the Carrier since Day 1 and will continue to follow when he leaves in July 2021.
PartyofSeven I got great deals at Khol's for the Adults. all the kids I got at Wal Mart I put a layaway and its out.
I gave Gabriel his Christmas when he was here, we all did. He got some spray colognes and a new cardinal hoodie and dads fingerprint chain from me, and his sister got him one of the New Jersey the cardinals have come out with, with Murray #1 from the Cardinals. Nice Black one! but I am just sending goodies now. I just want to stock him up with Immunity drinks and so on so he can be on the safe side. Many of the sailors ask for an IV full of immunities, but its actually a drink. so I will be sending him that. when the carrier had gotten covid the first time many parents were ordering and sending these to their Sailors. so I want to get a jump start on it. it's crazy what us Parents do to keep our Loved ones safe but you do what you gotta do right?

PhoenixMom: he is headed to Norfolk. He requested west coast. He said he would have been ok with international too. But he got the one base that was at the bottom of his wish list
Nov 25, 2020

Oh Wow, That was one Base bud didn't want to go to. it's nice and all but Nah! he also was told about WA this last time he was here so, I guess he will have to make the best of it. I hear it's beautiful over there so maybe that will take away from what he has heard.

My sailor just got his advent calendar (6 days to spare!!), and Saint Nick chocolates (10 days to spare). I am going to have to make notes to myself weeks before all the holidays so I remember to mail things on time.
I have gotten some Christmas presents (almost all the ones for my sailor in case leave gets canceled so I still have time to mail things). His older brother is impossible to buy for. He has very simple tastes, more money than he needs. I always used to get "experiences" for him but those are all closed. DH is tough to buy for too. My younger daughter is moving out when we move, so she will need lots of apartment stuff. I am debating between a swing and a xylophone for my chickens this year.
I got ahead on my chores again so I think I am going to make chevre for tomorrow. My younger daughter's coworker has goats, and I am hoping for a steady supply of milk from her going forward (until the day that DH finally gives in and lets me have my own goats). Wish me luck .... I have NEVER tried to make cheese before. Sounds like a good retirement project (but I don't want to wait THAT long to get goats! (I wonder what kinds of gifts I could get for goats so they won't be jealous of the chicken xylphone/swing?)

PhoenixMom: for a bit of a laugh... I had braided my hair back out of my face when I was baking... went and sat on the couch while I was waiting for it to come out of the oven. The dog ran in, jumped on the couch, bit onto my hair to pull out my ponytail holder then took off running with it! (I had the scrunchi kind not the little elastic kind I usually have because my hair was wet).

Hi ladies! I’m not feeling too hot today but tried getting as much done as I could around the house. I had little holiday piles that needed to be put in the shed. I also hung my sailors portrait on the wall. LOVE. We took our table apart to seat the four of us for Thanksgiving as well.
So today my son took part in the OC spray course but was an attacker with the punching bags. INTENSE. He won’t start classes until “next week” so he won’t have the Oc spray done to him for another six weeks.
Pheonixmom - kudos to you for having your shopping done! It’s funny my daughter and husband say “we know what we’re getting you!” Huh? I don’t know what I want (except for my sailor to come home) but they seem to know. Also, I’m terrible at knowing what to buy. Sigh. We’ll get there!
Shanny - Man I wish I would’ve thought of ordering Mexican takeout that sounds amazing! Silly puppy... that’s kind of adorable!
Katharine - when you say chicken with a xylophone I think of the Golden girls episode when they had a mini piano for the chicken that Rose was babysitting. Hahaha
partyofseven - that’s wonderful that you’re prepped and ready to go for tomorrow. We always cook the Thanksgiving but since my husband was sick and I’m not feeling too well my mother-in-law and my mom are going to drop food off to us. I’ll whip up the cranberry sauce and the fruit salad though. My sister is cooking her first thanksgiving for her family. She’s been FaceTiming me all day making sure that she’s doing everything right. I’m so proud of her ;)
Happy Pre-Thanksgiving everyone! I’m so looking forward to the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade in the morning. The news says it’s going to be paired down but I’m fine if they wanted to show an old one!

Shanny
VintageGal:. I am so sorry you aren’t feeling 100%. Please take care of yourself! I know, easier said than done especially with holiday stuff to do! Are you going to need to get tested for COVID? I feel like someone is spreading germs in our group!!! Feel better quickly!

Shanny-- He needs to ask both commands. I hope he is able to come home between since he has to fly commercial anyway!! HAHAHA On the Salsa!!! Just start a wish list now so that when he DOES get to come home you have it all planned out!! As for the Tats, I believe they have to submit a chit to get permission especially now since it is a high risk procedure. (Millions of little holes being poked into your largest organ!!Ouch!!)
Katharine-- Goats like swings and Towers! (think A frame set on top of a box!) Are you handy with tools?? Might could build one? Mailing dates-- Halloween for Thanksgiving delivery, Thanksgiving Eve for Christmas Delivery, Easter-- 1 month before, same for B-days -- Remember that even at that they may not make it on time or at all! Do not send EXPENSIVE gifts to an FPO address for many reasons. Remember space is always an issue and they need to remember theft happens!!
My Sailor’s favorite gifts are subscriptions to his online gaming service and Streaming services so he can use them and they take up no space! He just does the pay as he goes since sometimes he’s overseas and cannot get the same services as stateside. He is a Bee so he’s never going to be on a ship either but that is something to keep in mind as you are thinking of good holiday gifts for Sailors with limited space.
On a different note-- has anyone else had the tool bar disappear on the site on a computer? I am also only getting a small space to type and cannot pull down to enlarge the space to see all of what I wrote. (I'm using Firefox).

Shanny - I hope your son enjoys Norfolk!
It stinks, I didn’t feel too well last Thanksgiving and then it hit me like a freight train during dinner. So history is definitely repeating itself. I can’t say that I’m kind of glad that I’m not cooking. Although I absolutely enjoy it it’s kind of nice knowing that it’s going to be dropped off.

VintageGal- I am glad that you have other cooking for you! I didn't even know if they were doing the Macy's Parade.
Happy Thanksgiving to you LadyBluefire and to everyone else!
Shanny - That is funny about your puppy taking your scrunchy right out of your hair. One of the kids cats always was playing with the girls ponytail holders. If they didn't keep them in a drawer in the bathroom, the cat would jump up on the counter and carry them off for a play toy.
Katharine - enjoy your cooking!

Katharine- I love it about making goats cheese and such. I just helped my friend when she would make goats milk and the cheese. I have never done it on my own thou.
I also have chickens so I am very interested in the xylphone and the chicken swing. I have never heard of these things.
VintageGal- Oh no!!! Please go get tested if you feel like you should. I don't want to press it on you. :)
My friend's daughter and boyfriend exposed them as they turned out to be positive but when my friend got tested she and her hubby were negative.
That is great that they are doing that for you and your family. I remember when I first cooked my turkey and I was doing the same thing to my mom. Your such a great big sister. :)
Awe I'm sorry you weren't feeling well last year either. I know I sometimes don't mind when I don't have to cook on the holiday. :)
I love the Macy Day parade. :)
Big hugs to you and I hope you start to feel better soon.
BBH- I do the same for my Sailor and he loves them. :) So easy and practical to. :)
Have you tried google chrome to see if it does it there?
Phoenixmom- Happy Thanksgiving to you as well and have a wonderful evening.
LadyBluefire- Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well.
Shanny, VintageGal, Anti M, Chipmunk, Katharine, B'sNukeMoM MMN, Jen, jacksmom17, LeAnn and all of our moms on here:
I want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving and a wonderful day whether your with family or face timing your family. God protect all of us and our Sailors as they go about their day and place a shield of protection over them.
BBH
I pray you will be negative to if you get tested.

I'm just getting caught up here! So much to read and I'm overwhelmed to comment on everything. So as mostnof you know, we never got the "I'm a Sailor" call, so he sent us an "I'm a Sailor" letter. He actually called it that. Lol He is still in THU awaiting orders. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since he graduated. There was a bit of excitement there yesterday that involved NCIS. I asked him if he saw Gibbs. He replied he saw the whole team! Lol he said he didn't actually see them at all. I told him that is probably a good thing.
Here on the home front, one of my older sons who shares an apartment with 3 other guys called me the day before the funeral and said his roommate was sick. So my son, who was supposed to be a pall bearer, didn't come to the funeral. It was a good choice because the roommate's test came back positive. So my son said he wouldn't be able to come to our house for Thanksgiving nor for the birthday dinner we had planned for Saturday for his and his two siblings' birthday. Their birthday is Sunday. Now my son is also getting sick. So I and one of the other roommate's dad took Thanksgiving dinner to them. We will have to postpone the birthday dinner to a date yet to be set. So instead of traveling down for Thanksgiving with my husband's extended family, we are staying home. And I knew my sailor wouldn't be here, but I thought the rest of us would be. Now it will just be four of us. But you know what? None of this has really fazed me. I think I've taken Semper Gumby to heart in my civilian life, too! But really, I know God is in control! And I'm making a point to be thankful for the many blessings I have around me. Our situation isn't dire--it's just a bit disappointing, and there are many in far worse situations!
I pray that you all have a happy memory-filled Thanksgiving, whether it's just with a small few, whether it's a phone call with your sailor, or any other way it may be memorable! Happy Thanksgiving!

Partyofseven - I thought about getting tested. My husband tested positive so I’m going to say I probably am as well. We have all of the necessary vitamins and supplements. Thank goodness I already work from home.
It’s sweet my sister just sent me a picture of my grandmothers turkey roasting pan that was given to her. My grandmother passed away January of this year. This year started out pretty tough even before the March shut down. Every year my grandmother and I stood at the roasting pan to make the gravy together with a glass of wine in hand. <3

Party - Here is the swing. Vintage - I do not recall that episode but I likely saw it way back when.
I just finished the placecards for tomorrow's dinner. Phewwww. Now I do not need to be crafty until next year.
