I tried to look at them on your page, but I couldn't find them.  That may be error on my part!  Lol

chipmunk, he loves the snow!  I wish I could get my box of goodies down to him by Christmas, but he won't even have a p.o. box until sometime this week.  I wanted to face time with him while we opened presents.  

Phoenixmom - having issues seeing the photos too.  Not sure why.  

Jumped in here to say Merry Christmas to all of our mom's, the experienced and New!  Wishing you as peaceful a holiday as possible given all the varied circumstances we are in this year.

We've not had our sailor home specifically for Christmas since he enlisted in 2015 but we celebrate it whenever he can get here. His first Christmas in the Navy and last year we went to see him in VA.  Obviously not this year :)  We will do our usual Facetime visit at some point that day. 

I'm Not sure as to why on my end I can see them. waiting on approval maybe?

C'sMom:  my son just said if they weren't going to have snow for the winter. Then it should be 80 degrees and sunny. But it's like 40 and dark and foggy lol 

I can't even imagine how they do bootcamp in the snow and ice?!?!

So I just got the Form letter from my son... but as I mentioned last week we got a call from him saying he would be pushed back a week.  The info for his graduation in the letter doesn't match the one he gave me on the phone? WHAT DO I DO? Should I wait for a new Form letter to come since I know the Div is not right?  Will I even get a new Form letter?

Imlaotvhe:  can you refresh my memory?  Did he tell you when he called that the letter had already been mailed?  If he did then the numbers he gave you verbally are probably the correct ones and we can probably find the street address for mailing based on the Ship # if it is different than the letter. They don’t usually send out another form letter. The next letter you receive should be a personal letter from your SR. 

He called to say due to something( I think medical) that he missed his PFA and his grad date was moved back a week. He didn't give me a ship number/ div. I asked if we would be getting a Form letter and he asked the Petty Officer standing there and all I got was a yes.

LadyBlueFire ~ hi! It’s been a very nice time together so far. Last night we took the kids and his fiancé to the cosmopolitan to go ice skating. I won $50 on the wheel of fortune machine lol Today I’m making a big breakfast and we talked about going to an antique mall that opened since my son left. I’m sooooo excited about this outing! So Grace and Frankie doesn’t have any new seasons yet. I wish! I was watching season three :) I love this show!! Isn’t it great?!

Partyofseven ~ Good morning! So I pretty much relaxed all day and we cut snowflakes. My son was out with his fiancé pretty much the whole day but then we got back together and went out last night and the kids went ice-skating. My youngest who’s built like a tree said no way I’m not falling out there and hurting my knees. So he hung out with dad and I. We had a really good time. Looks like we might go antiquing today which I’m super stoked about! We also have a used record store in town called Zia records that is one of our favorite places to go to that we might hit up today as well. How are you?!

Chipmunk ~ Good morning, I would love to have a white Christmas! How was your son’s birthday weekend? :) 

C’smom ~ hello! My son gave me his roommates PO Box to send him his package in the meantime. If he feels comfortable asking maybe you can do it that way. Yes! Our boys left Chicago just in time! Chilly Willy!

Imlaotvhe ~ hello! You’ll want to use the address he gave you and put in ROM on the bottom of the envelope. When he is released from ROM he may call you and give you his new address. That is what happen with my son anyways. BNMH!!

Warriorprotector ~ hello! I know you’re still on cloud nine from your phone call last night! That’s so exciting that you have three letters on the way! You signed up for informed delivery, correct? it sure beats stocking the mailman! It’s been nice having it even after Boot Camp, so I know that our Christmas packages are on their way. 

Mom2blondies ~ Big hugs to you! How much time does your son have left in ROM? Did you get your crocheting done? :) I would love that cool ocean breeze coming through my windows. How far are you away from the beach? And speaking of babysitting pups here’s a picture of these wild girls. When I get together all heck breaks loose!! The corgi, Stella, belongs to my son and his fiancé.  The other pup is our dog Presley ;)

Northwoodsmom ~ thank you :) I am definitely holding onto every moment that I can to stock up for the famine months. 
That’s a great way of putting it! sounds like there’s some Glenn Miller playing downstairs right now! my son is so much like me! Lol I’m really hoping we can hit up the antique store today!! HUGS!!

VintageGal:  I think her SR wasn’t going to ROM but he somehow missed his date to do the PFA (maybe due to the dental work during processing? If I remember the situation correctly

Imlaotvhe:  if he was telling you he WOULD be sending one out, I would assume that means he had not sent it yet so the address on the form should be correct because he hadn’t sent it yet when he called. I would try writing that address. Keep it very vague and encouraging. Tell him you are positive this is the correct address but please write you ASAP so you know for sure. I would definitely get something in the mail as soon as you can to that address. Just in case it is correct. 
Maybe Chipmunk, Phoenixmom, or LadyBluefire  may have a different take on it?  It just sounds like he was saying he had not sent one yet when you spoke to him. So this would have been mailed after he spoke to you so it should be correct

VintageGal. Sadly we are not close to the beach and live in the foothills so no ocean breeze but the weather is amazing today! No wind and 85 degrees! My SR arrived on 12/8 so tomorrow is day 14 and I haven't heard anything yet. which is a good thing I hope!! Your pup and grand pup are adorable!! I was able to get them to semi-cooperate for a photo in front of the tree. My little, old, blind chihuahua was not interested in participating in the photo shoot. 

Hi, I am Laura, I am late to the party of introducing myself fully.

My son is 22 and signed up in August.  He has been out of the house, off and on for the past three years.   It is just he and I, so now, it is just me. 

Due to many factors, his date was not until 11/23.  He kept telling me he could go any minute or he could go 11/23, and he is not the best communicator. In all honesty, I wasn't fully sure it was ever going to happen, it was so long.  I live in Atlanta and was planning vacation, so I just planned it.  I went to Florida for 6 weeks (worked some of them thanks to working from home due to Covid).  So, my son drove down with me and stayed for 10 days.  Since he has been out of the house, it was a great way to spend time with him before he left.  However, I was not back home for the day he went to MEPS and flew to Chicago.  My father took him.  In all honesty, I think it was good he didn't get to see me crying.  

So, he left 11/23 and is in ROM, got a call on 12/8 that he had a fever, sinus stuff, Covid and had to quarantine another two weeks.  If my math is good he goes to BC tomorrow, 12/22.  And then he should graduate 2/11/21, I am guessing, if i do the math correctly. 

Can someone please check these dates and let me know if they sound right for his PIR?

All this being said, when does anyone think I should get the form with his address? This week? next week?  I really have a lot to write to him and letters to send.

Oh belovedbyHim I hope your pup is ok! Let me know if you have any questions about his care or what they tell you. If they are doing curbside service sometimes it's hard to get all of the answers you want/need. I won't be able to check back until after 7pm PST though. Keeping good thoughts it is nothing serious!

Phoenixmom ~ The grand reveal!! Your kitchen looks gorgeous!! It’s a lot more open now which I bet you’re loving!! CONGRATULATIONS!! You’re going to be cooking up a ton of yummy meals in your new kitchen :) Have fun!  

Phoenix mom, just love it. Those floors are beautiful too. I also have those upper cupboards over my snack bar and would love to get rid of them. When I make wedding cakes they are always in the way but my husband solution to the problem is stop making cakes. I hope someday to remodel you did such a great job coordinating everything it is just stunning.  Now to get in there to start messing it up--ha ha.

ThANK yOU LADIES! I'm LOVING IT! just got my furniture and carpet cleaned in the living room, So My house is set. it makes such a difference to the whole house. I'm very Proud of it. I think hubby would of also liked it. as long he didn't have to do it he liked! LOL!

Mom2blondies-  thanks, yes curbside which isn't great. I've been here since 2:30 and it is now 5:50...

Diagnosis is Pancreatitis.   They want to keep her overnight but due to $$ we are going to treat at home.  She will get pain meds and bland food with the understanding that we may be bringing her back tomorrow if she doesn't improve.  I hope I'm  making the right call.

mom2blondies:  how did you get them all to sit there so well!  I'm amazed!  I love the picture!  

beloved:  praying your pup will be improving by tomorrow and you won't have to go back to the vet!  

Shanny: my sailor said it would be a high of 74 there today!  While it was gray here today and 39 degrees.  Our snow just melted yesterday, so it looks dreary out.  But I heard we are going to have a white Christmas Eve and Christmas, but not too much snow.  So that's good!  I'm with him!  He's not much warmer there than it is here right now!  

Phoenixmom: i love your new kitchen and dining room.  Our kitchen has those upper cabinets over the counter between the kitchen and dining room, too.  And our kitchen is dark and from the 80's.  We just redid our dining room and I would love to do the kitchen next.  

C’sMom:  this is all the snow we have received so far this winter...  but the lake effect coming on for Christmas could clip us depending on the direction

Ldcga2 ~ good evening, I’m so sorry that you had a call home that he was sick. I hope he’s doing much better now. If he goes into his new division tomorrow than you may get a form letter in the next couple of weeks. BNMH!!

Good Evening everyone!! One of the new moms - Joy -  had asked me this question and I shared what I thought, but do any of you with kids at BC know the answer to her question. 

"Thanks so much! Everything about the military is new to our family as our son is the first to enlist!! Random question for anyone that has a sailor that went thru quarantine-do they wear their own clothes or are they given their clothes provided from the navy for boot camp. "

Shanny ~ I wish we had a little snow too! Cute pup! 

Chipmunk:  I know things are different now that they are at Ft McCoy but when my son went through, they brought their new clothes to the hotel (he was at Great Wolf) and they had to change their clothes right then and they put everything in the boxes and wore only Navy issue after that. I have heard they stop at GL on the way to quarantine to pick up their supplies. But the last time I heard was when they first switched ROM locations.  BUT that was a long way around saying they were Navy issue right away. (Texted my sailor and he verified it for me)

VintageGal:  that’s my baby!  Well, he is my sailor’s but he was just a puppy when he left so he claims me now

It has been a busy day, productive, just not as much as I was hoping!

VintageGal - My son had a wonderful b'day weekend and on Sunday my two boys ended up on Skype for most of the afternoon with their gaming and just discussion.

BelovedbyHim - My thoughts and prayers for your puppy dog and wisdom.

I have enjoyed seeing the pictures of all your pups, but Mom2blondies - I as well am in awe over your dogs all posed for you so well. 

C'sMom - I know how much you want to open presents with your sailor. Maybe someone would allow him to receive mail at their box. I guess since we had to travel a lot to family and the holiday wasn't always when we opened presents, I am able to juggle things just a little but it is still important to me to watch my children open their presents. 

Henry'sMom - Thanks for sharing! My son is in VA as well and we won't be able to visit with him, but he was able to come home at Thanksgiving, so I had wrapped his few small presents for him to take back with him. Actually, I think we packed them in his gf's bag and she assured me she had them when they got back so he will get them on Christmas.

LBF - Yes, sometimes our perfectionism has to just submit to the clock and what is done is done and what isn't is not. 

Phoenixmom - Glad the pictures finally came through! I know how much you are going to enjoy your new kitchen!!
