Update from RTC - the Mask Mandate has been removed but you are still required to show proof of vaccination. 

* * * New Guidance on Revised Pass-in-Review Policy * * *

Recruit Training Command is lifting the masking mandate. There is no mask requirement for recruits, staff, and guests attending Pass-In-Review. Each recruit can invite two guests (max, no exceptions) to attend in person to maintain capacity limitations. (Children 2 & under do not count toward the guest limit.) Guests 12 or older need to provide proof of immunization (14 days post final dose,) in the form of a COVID-19 vaccination record card, to attend. If you are unable to provide proof of vaccination, you will not be able to attend, and will not be issued tickets to attend. This policy is subject to change as leadership continues to monitor the spread and impact of the Coronavirus. Please continue to follow RTC social media accounts for updates and check www.bootcamp.navy.mil for the most up-to-date information. For specific questions and inquiries, contact the RTC Public Affairs Office.

Boot Camp moms and soon to be graduates--- I need your assistance.  Most all of you should have received a welcome message from me with a link to my blog on Bootcamp in the Age of Covid (If you didn't get that message just give a shout out and I'll send it.)
What I need to know from you all is how accurate is this information still?  I don't have any special insider knowledge so it's up to you and your Newly minted sailors to share information.  If there are areas that are Just flat out changed I'd like to be able to fix my welcome letter to reflect that.  If there are things that need changing/correcting/updating/modifying... Please click on my Icon next to my post and send me that information via private message.  If my time line is off or could use refinement sharing that too will be helpful.  I want to make sure we are following OPSEC and PERSEC which is why I'm asking that you PM me instead of posting on here.  Most info is fine to post but not all and this is the safer way.
Thank you for helping future New Moms who are overwhelmed to have a little bit of information to assuage their concern.

Just received a wonderful, surprise phone call from my SR. Enjoyed having a 25 minute conversation with her this morning detailing all the things she’s been doing the first 17 days of BC (arrived 23 FEB 2022). She sounded great and was full of energy and stories. It was so nice to hear about some of the things I’ve been worrying about. Funny how she put me at ease…lol. I feel very blessed to have received the form letter last Saturday and now a phone call. Now it’s more letters and hoping for another call. So proud of her!

Glad to hear about your call with your SR-feeling happy for you. Enjoy the moments :-)

For me, it is just waiting again, been two weeks - no calls so days and weeks seems to be longer and longer.

OkeechobeeJust4Bass - Lora -  Yipee!! A phone call. I am so glad that she put your heart at ease!

Maya2021 - Those stretches in between calls and letters can be long, I understand. 

OkeechobeeJust4Bass-Lora; Maya2021 - Don't you just practically LIVE for those phone calls?!!. I got to hear from my daughter every Saturday when she was in RCU. LOVED IT! Now that she's in a new division and I haven't heard from her since February. Agony! I know she had to take her final PFA run,  but I don't know if she passed it yet. "No news is good news".  Her PIR is this Friday, God willing. It may be that she passed it and is on to the last few trials of BC. Or, it may be that she didn't pass and is being given the opportunity to take it again and doesn't want to call till she has good news. All I can do is sit tight, pray, and hope for the best. I'm with you ladies!

Wow, sitting here watching a movie at 8pm and my son just called!  They earned a call for passing Drill and he was doing great!  He called last Sat am and they all had colds and he sounded horrible, but tonight much better and it is amazing how much better it all seems to get for him week to week.  Getting in the groove he says, and less anxiety about not being perfect is making for a more pleasant last few weeks.  He is calm and assured and it makes it easier for me as well.  I cannot wait until he can weigh himself - tomorrow and write me.  He has been eating so much more food than he was at home and it will be interesting to see if he has gained (he could use a few pounds) LOL.  Well we are only 4 weeks from PIR and it has been an adventure so far.  I hope all of your recruits are doing well also and I know how those days without calls can be.  Rooting for everyone.

Starting Monday, will be the beginning of 3rd week. When can I expect a call where I can speak to him? I did already the paper to where I mail in required information for PIR and grade date, etc. 

Ummi - Cheering on your daughter!!

Lila - I am glad that he is sounding better!

For those of you that have recently received calls, I hope you can answer osubuckeyegirl - my son was at BC 4+ years ago. As I recall, it was about week 3 or 4 that our call came in on a Saturday, but they can call at other times than the weekend. It depends on when their division is able to get a turn at the phone banks. 

Spring Forward - At least in my area, time change is at 2:00 AM on Sunday, March 13th

osubuckeyegirl - just always keep your phone with you, and turned UP! Never know when they get that phone privilege.

Lila- your son seems like he's definitely getting the hang of it, especially when he's feeling confident. Hope we hear more good news about him from you.

YIPPEEEEE!! My girl is an official SAILOR! Got the call today, she passed BS last night! THANK YOU MOMS FOR ALL YOUR ADVICE, INFO, ENCOURAGEMENT AND PRAYERS!

Wow Ummi!  How exciting!  My son told me when his BS is... obviously not repeating but I will be a nervous wreck when it happens, as I hear it is a really grueling challenge.  So proud your daughter has become a full blow Sailor!  That is something to celebrate for SURE!  Congrats!

How do I join my sons PIR date!

osubuckeyegirl, at the top of this page just below the blue ribbon strip you will see in small letter all groups and my groups. If you press on all groups the PIR groups should appear and all you need to do is press on the group that coordinates with your graduation date. There might be a easier way but that is the only way I know.

Yea, BS is pretty grueling but at the end my sailor said it was the most fun of boot.. go figure..

Lila and Trey -   From what I've gathered, BS21 is to SRs what "hell night" is to frats, but without the physical hazing! Definitely tests your muster!

BZ!!!! Congratulations to your daughter and to you Ummi!!  What a proud moment...Going through boot camp and all the markers to be a Sailor is such an achievement, they have worked for - god bless!

Ummi - I sent you a reply to your message, my apologies for the delay. Life is a bit busy for me on the home front just now. 

Information from RTC Bootcamp website - 

Recruit Training Command - FAQ (navy.mil) - This should be FAQ and show how to address and send your letters. Remember though to wait until after you have received your form letter. 

Can you say the form are you referencing the form that you fill out to come to graduation?

I got like a little packet in an envelope of a lot of information that I read over just making sure that’s what you’re referencing :-) because I’ve already sent letters off after

Also how does Sandboxx work?

osubuckeyegirl - The form letter, is just the basic all general "form" letter with information in it from your SR (seaman recruit) including their mailing address. If you received that, as well as the security access form and I believe they are still sending out a brochure with motel information, then that is all you will get about graduation.

The security access form is what needs to be mailed back in asap to your SR, I believe. - Here it is again if you need a copy to print - GUEST SECURITY ACCESS FORM (3 GUEST) V3.pdf (navy.mil) - 2 guests are all that are currently allowed to be listed on the form!!

As long as you are mailing letters to the address that was written in by your SR on the form letter, you should be good to go. 

Sandboxx App for BC

Click on the above link - there is information posted there by B'sNukeMom about the Sandboxx App. Many of us that stick around and post on here, did not use Sandboxx, but some of the others that have been through BC have. - Just remember - Anyone can read what you write - it is like a postcard, DO NOT share dates, or personal information. And do not use after Bootcampe!
