WOW!!! 8 Guests!!!! That's Awesome!!!

Recruits who are graduating June 6 and 13 were given additional phone call time home and will complete an additional form with their additional guests' information. For graduations June 20 through July 25, additional guests must send in the Guest Security Access form to their recruits.

Good morning!!! I just wanted to give an update... I got the call yesterday!!!!!! He is so ornery and started with "mom I have some bad news" and in my head I was thinking "I KNOW this kid is messing with me.." but I couldn't say that just in case he wasn't. When he finally said "I'm a sailor" I just started sobbing. Then I proceeded to tell everyone I saw for the rest of the day.

How awesome to hear dsk1.  I assume at a later date appropriate retaliation will come forward. LoL. BZ to you and him...  Next up is so great. Second best hug of my life

belovedbyHim - in all my years on here (since 2012) I don't believe I have ever seen them allow 8 guests to PIR!

B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet) -- I know in the 11 years I've been here they haven't. I wonder what prompted the change?  It's AWESOME and I always thought they should allow as many as the SR's could vouch for (Or at least everyone in their immediate family) .  There's plenty of room and the upper bleachers are never used.  That or allow SR's who don't have family able to attend to give their tickets to those who need extra.  Again they can and should be vetted but some of the choices that have had to be made over the years has been heartbreaking!

I see some references to a vehicle gate pass being required when driving on base for the PIR but none of the links work and I can't find it on the bootcamp site.  Does any one know?  Thanks!

Masaleza - they may give you the pass at the gate.  You will need to show tickets for everyone attending the PIR.  But you don't get a vehicle pass before you show up.

DRIVING ON BASE: A driver's license, vehicle registration, proof of insurance (or rental car agreement), and graduation ticket must be ready to present to security at all access points. Once on base, attendees will be directed to park in the parking structure adjacent to RTC's Visitor Center (USS YORKTOWN).

ARRIVING: Once the gates open to the public, it will take some time to clear security at the gate, so please plan accordingly. Visitors 18+ will be required to present valid photo ID (driver's license, state ID card, passport, military ID card). Minors who can't produce one of the forms of ID listed above must present either a school ID, driver's permit, copy of birth certificate, or Social Security card.

Hello, Navy Moms!  I haven't been on this page in a while, but I'm so excited about the new moms here!  This page was a LIFE-SAVER for me when my son was in BC (almost 3 years ago!)  I love reading about your phone calls and your PIR experiences.  And I'm so grateful that your son/daughter is willing to serve our country!  Big hugs to all!

Hi! This may be a stupid question but my daughter is going to boot camp the end of August and, while she is working on her fitness she hasn't swam in a long time. How bad is it for newbies if they aren't working on their swimming and diving before boot?

bhmom - they will work with her on the swim.  Of course it's better if she can do it before she goes in but it's not the end of the world.  My son had a friend who joined and didn't know how to swim at all - he made it through!

Yep bhmom. Mine could barely dog paddle and float. He just skipped to the teaching part and they got him to passing. Hi and welcome
