**BEGINNING OCTOBER 5, 2023, RECRUIT GRADUATIONS WILL BE CONDUCTED EVERY THURSDAY (NO LONGER ON FRIDAY), EXCEPT FOR THE WEEK OF THANKSGIVING, WHEN GRADUATION IS ON WEDNESDAY.
This is a place to talk, ask questions, and share stories. It is our desire that this Group will provide the information, encouragement, and support you need while your loved one is at RTC in Great Lakes. Enjoy your time here and feel free to Comment and join in the Discussions. Be sure to check out the "Pages" to the right, located under the pictures of the Members, especially OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile), (Click "View All" to see all of them.)

We got our first call yesterday!! It was so good to hear our boy's voice. He sounds like he's doing really good!! He's still going through the academic prep program so no PIR date yet, but should have it in the next week or two. :)

NOTICE: Recruits arriving on or after Jan. 6, 2025, will enroll in the 9-week boot camp as part of Training Group (TG) 14.
TG-14 will graduate on Mar. 13, 2025.

Agreed!! It was a Great game and it was wonderful to see the respect that each team showed for the other!! After all, While they may Lovingly tease each other, they are still ultimately on the same team!! Every individual on that field has written a blank Check to the USA! My prayer is that they are never required to cash it! That said... Hooyah NAVY!!!!!

Good Morning everyone!! Welcome to our new members!
Hooyah Navy!! My husband was watching the game, but I had multiple other things I needed to accomplish. I did see that Navy was whooping up on Army however!
I am dashing in to say hello and hang in there!! I am preparing to see my veteran son and his Navy gal and my grandbaby soon. They have not been back home to visit for a few years, so I have been busy with a lot of preparation and other duties.

Hello Cindy. We can get that date for you, however for your education on OPSEC and PERSEC, we do not discuss PIR, or BS21 or Deployment dates or ship movements in open channels. I'm not trying to fuss at you or make you feel bad. This is your "Safe Space" to make these "mistakes" and learn so that you don't post something on other social media sites and thus compromise our sailors.

I know it's hard to have your SR gone over the holidays and we are here to support you however we can. Again, please don't feel bad for asking here. This whole site is here so you can learn as much as possible and anytime you are learning you will make a mistake or 5, the biggest difference is we won't give you IT to correct you. (But if you need the motivation... Drop and give me 10... LOL!!!)

My son was at bootcamp during Christmas so all of you are in my thoughts. Something that helped was to celebrate in a different way. We went to our other son and DIL for a few days. They were sharing a house with her sister's family. Her BIL is from Denmark. They had planned to travel there for the holidays, but like so many things COVID prevented that from happening. He cooked us a traditional feast and shared some of their traditions. It didn't stop us from missing our sailor, but it went a long way to distract us with a fun and different experience.
