All through this house we are in recovery mode.  (Flu for Christmas is NOT a good gift! thankfully it's not the stomach flu!)
We had a lovely visit by phone with our Sailor. 
I hope you all got to hear from your Sailor if you couldn't be together in person!

oh belovedbyHim - I'm so sorry you all got sick!  No fun at all :(

jase's.mom - I am so glad you got to hear from your son!! Hopefully, everything will work out with his classes. 

The last two months have been a whirlwind for me as I have had family in and out and then several other things going on as well. I was able to have my sailor family home for a bit before Christmas. and we also were outside a lot. My body is not totally recovered from all of the outdoor activities and so I am doing my best to rest.

@chipmunk mom -  oh how fun! I'm so glad your sailor family got to come home. 

Our Christmas was low key since we took our family trip in September since we knew our son wouldn't be home. We did get to hear from him Christmas and also yesterday! The was such a treat!! He sounds good!

Hi all and Happy New Year! I hope it is a good one for you all and so sorry to hear belovedbyHim that you and your family were sick. I can sympathize. We have spent the last few weeks tending to our other child with acute pancreatitus. Strongly recommend avoiding!

We were super happy to have our sailor home for a few days at Christmas. She just headed back to A school and is finally going to start classes next week. Orders should be in February. Fingers crossed! I am surprised how many people are pushing for green side. Competition is a good thing though, so all is well.

jase's.mom - I am so glad that you were able to get a phone call from your son. Are most all of the calls coming from their cell phones now?  I just reread your post. You got two calls -- WooHoo!

bhmom - I am glad your sailor was able to be home for a short bit as well. 

@Chipmunk - Yes! All the calls have come from his personal cell phone. It's so neat seeing his name pop up on the screen! yay technology LOL!

jase's.mom - Thank you for clarifying. Seeing the call is coming from your son's cell phone is a lot easier than when we had to just answer all incoming calls. It also makes it a lot easier for them to allow the SRs to have an extra day to call during holiday times, since they do not have to coordinate the phone booths with each division.

Thanks to you all for the info and support. It makes navigating this new world so much better. Even my sailor said she has had better information on the process from A school through the info on corpsman paths I got from you guys than she gets on base. Really appreciate it! 

Happy New Year all of my friends!  This is a crazy time but we have strong SR.  The strength is inside is what will come out as needed!  Greatness, healthy and safety for 2025!
