Great news, my son e-mailed me yesterday and said he passed his exam, he is now an operation specialist, I'm so glad, he really didn't like being undesignated.
My son is happy and sad at the same time with his scores.
Said..scored 97% which meant he scored 97 percent better than everyone in his rate. The cutting score to pick up rank was 151.54 and his final score was 150.89. Then he said his test score was 68.72 out of 80 , the navy average for anyone that took this test was 58.65.
He was happy that he did really well for his 1st. time but sad that he missed by less than 1/2 point. Just needed one more questioned right.
He was so close, I hope next time will be it. idk
So Proud of him anyway!

Call from our Sailor Friday, AM, of course I was in DR, office and hubby had to go outside to get service... Sailor told his Father he scored in the top 4% of an exam... Can advance but no slots to advance to...What exam, he did not ask? Do you think may be it is the same exam, you are all speaking of.... Guess I'll have to wait until the next call... I like how they over work them on deployment. My sailor is working from 5am to 11pm at night its ridiculous all he focuses on is sleep. He recently told me not to send him anything on the ship because when they got a shipment recently 6 to 8 bags of mail fell overboard. So he told his parents and I not to send him anything. I am still going to but that I think is horrible.

My girl is on the Bataan but she is single and is worried about where she will live once the ship returns. I know there must be someplace where potential roommates post ads if they are looking for someone to share the rent. Any ideas of places I can tell her to look? Thanks much.

Oh my in regards to the bags falling overboard....I just sent 4 packages out yesterday in hopes to get to him before Christmas...hope it doesn't happen again!! Not sure if this info will help anyone, but I receive my boxes and packing stuff from the US postal service, they send them for free and I usually mail them through the US postal service, however, yesterday I stopped by my UPS store to see if they could mail them for me and they said sure, they even packaged my 4 boxes into one big box and it saved me over $33 in postage. Hope all are having a great day. It's rainy and dismal here in Delaware, we're suppose to get 2 inches of rain between today and tomorrow...YUK!!
Yay!!!! I can't wait. I am already counting Down the days!!! My sailor told me not to send him anything but I am defiant so I will do it. He deserves a Christmas, anniversary and thanksgiving gift. First deployment is hard but a great way to see how strong we both are. I love the challenge.

That is what he said. What is funny he said he never had a girlfriend last a deployment they always tend to end it within the first weeks of his short underways before deployment. He said he wants is just that one kiss the first kiss. He said that is what he wants so bad is that moment. I know its cheesy but he really want that moment so I am trying to get my friend to take a picture of that moment for me. Like the Whitney Huston in the bodyguard kind of thing as he said word for word.
I should really go to these meeting for FRG but I work nights and I go to class during that day you guys have those meetings on times where I am sleeping. ( I have just as bad as a schedule as the sailors on the boat)
I hope so. His parents absolute me love me. They already offered about holidays because they know I spend it a lot alone most of the past years because of my family. I basically feel like I am in a fairy tale he has a wonderful family and my family is just so dysfunctional. I feel so blessed to be able to have invited to peoples meals. I mostly work a lot or study and my family can only stand each other for and hour. Its been hard deployment for me but a lifetime memory I will always keep because it showed me and him how strong we both are and how much dedication we have and that is a first for me and him. He told his parents the second week he we dated that I was the one. His dad told me that today. I was shocked because that was a year ago.

Well I guess your eight. I really don't have that kind of time to go to those meeting even night before homecoming. His parents are probably gonna be in town so I got to set up the banner and chill with his parents. It's really important for him to meet my aunt too. She is like the one he has to ask for a blessing from if he pops the questions Asian families don't play when it comes to that.

I am worried about him and how he will adjust because he is a E1 and also undesignated. If he would have listen to mh (his mother) he could have a bit more rank.
mso ship11 Division 366; Ship life is a huge adjustment. He just has to get thru it. It'll get better. My husband just got to the Bataan a couple weeks ago and he prefers the Eisenhower to the Bataan. Anyway, he promptly requested the I send his pillow and navy blue pillow case(the pillows there are flat and he has to cover the one he got with a sheet), The ships store is lacking in snacks so I sent candy, cookies and goldfish crackers, he also wanted gateraid powder and koolaid powder. be prepared to mail stuff
