We are happy to have another prayer partner, shawn.

I expect that if the family wants to be contacted, we will be given a name and perhaps a mailing address for cards.  However, we all know we hold them in our hearts.

It was kind of a scary day driving to work in complete fog.  The trees were covered in a frost.  Thanking God knowing that no matter how difficult the situations are and if we feel like we are covered in a fog, He is there to guide us.

Prayer-Wall prayer warriors, I see your posts come in, and each time I do, I lift up my sailor by name.  You have given me a moment-to-moment reminder of the awesome privilege I have in Christ to approach the throne of our God boldly.  Today I am rejoicing that my son's backpay came through!! Whoo-hoo!  God is FAITHFUL! Please take a second a lift up my son whose Basic Training Chief called "Samson" - that the Lord might lead him where He's always intended him to serve.  Let the beautiful perfect will of our Father be done for him, for all our Sailors and for all God's children, to the honor and glory of His matchless name!!!
  • broken_heart

Amen ... He is in our prayers as well as all of the wonderful children of ours that are serving.

    Dear Lord

I don't like to ask for "things" but we have a large Navy and Marine adoptions group who needs 1,000 personalized pillowcases.  I ask that you help me approach those who can sew or tie-dye or decorate pillowcases, so we can send love to those aboard the USS Kearsarge.  Let my passion and love for you show through the requests."  Amen

  • carols_kitchen

Asking for prayers that my school cafeteria finds a new cashier and food prep person.  My only other team member and assistant is leaving for a higher priced job (and to think, I encouraged her to go for it.)  We have 3 positions to fill in 3 different schools in our district.

In Illinois, as well as other states, they are predicting the worst ice and snow storm in years.  Dear Lord, please protect and keep safe all who are in the storm's path. Let us find out who needs to be watched over as the homebound may not have any resources or heat if power lines go down.  Help us be good neighbors.  Let us raise your name in praise for all things. Amen.
  • KathyMmom

Definitely Blondie - although it's only barely above zer here  and the roads are really icy today....

    1)  The seats in our 10 year old car are heated!! so we sent our daughter back to school with it this week so she won't freeze her tiny little body just getting into the car.

    2)  My husband still loves me after 26 years, and I would still marry him again tomorrow.

    3)  Even though my daughters car was vandalized last thursday, the damage was enough that now the insurace company will paint it for us and we can change the color to white.

    4)  I'm working from home today!  and as an added bonus, the dog is sitting on my feet acting as my own personal heater.

    5)  Dinner is getting itself ready in the good ole 26 year old crock pot.  I love that thing.

    6)  Even though I have to go out in this brrrr weather later tonight, it's because I have a place I can go and use workout equipment and work off my you know what since LMAO doesn't really work for anybody.  It's not really warm in there, but at least it's better than 4 degrees and I can keep my jacket on.

    7)  Electricity is on - all over Denver - and homeless shelters are opening extra doors so nobody should be out in this cold this week.  Plus, great response to Coats for Colorado this year, so warmth was spread around.  Grateful for giving souls.

    8)  It's beautiful outside my window.

Asking that you lift a dear cousin, Army veteran from Vietnam and his family.  He is losing his battle with cancer and hurting.  Praising God that he is confident that he will be seeing God soon, but he will be sorely missed in this life.  His wife needs strength to see her through.

  • carols_kitchen

    Love the praise posts!

    1) Even though under-employed, I have a job with benefit

    2) Would also marry my hubby again in a second, after almost 30 years and cancer

    3)  Love dirty laundry because it means I have someone to love and do laundry for

    4) Was raised by a God Mom

    5)  My Dad sacrificed his plans for college to go into war and then to provide for us

    6) Our children are safe

    7) My nephew got out of Egypt 3 weeks ago before the protests and uprisings

    8)  Have a great church with fantastic staff

    9)  Also enjoy our two dogs who make us laugh--rescue dogs, too.

    10) I'm losing weight and it feels good.

    Love you all!

  • carols_kitchen

From Navy Momma Shirley comes this word :

PLEASE PLEASE pray for my adopted Marine SSGT Tim Brown.  I sent him a Molly's Adopt a Sailor care pkg two months ago (he has not been in the sandbox long at all) and just kinda adopted him along the way.

On Thursday he stepped on a IED and lost both legs his arm just above the elbow and has multiple fx's.  Please just stop right now and say a small prayer for this guy.  He just made it to Germany and will be enroute to Bethesda next week.  I am in shock and disbelief.  But I do know their is power in numbers so if I could beg all of you to say prayer for Tim and his family it will only take a second.  Thanks♥

  • navyfam

Amen! Father God please be w/Tim & if he does not know you I pray that through this tremendous trial he will come to know you. We in your precious Son's name. Amen
  • Hisbelovedlinda

Heavenly Father, I call upon you in Jesus Name, to be with all our Military Members today in a special way!  I pray that you will protect each and every one and keep them focused at their daily tasks at hand.  That you will give them "your discernment" (common sense) today to handle each problem/task with right choices and good results.  I pray the verse First John 4:18 "...His Perfect LOVE casts out all our fear"  and Psalm 27:1 " The LORD is my light and my salvation: Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the defense (my strength) of my life: Whom shall I dread (or fear)?"   First John 5:18 "......and the evil one does NOT touch him"  I pray that our Navy Sailors will NOT fear and will be protected by His Divine Perfect Love!  First John 4:18 "...because His perfect LOVE casts out fear..."  I pray this especially over my Sailor today and all his troop!  We are so blessed to have raised our children in America!  We are blessed and I pray God will bless in the future that our children's Children will experience that also!  God Bless America and keep us FREE !!!  Praise The Holy Name of The LORD! , I pray in Jesus Name, AMEN!!!

Having problems getting a Profile Pic to post!  I click to do that & it lets me browse  "My Pictures"  but the photo will not post on my profile???  I have a Windows Seven  Computer.  I wonder if my photo even though it was from my old facebook profile is too large?  I don't know how to reduce it?  Help!
  • carols_kitchen

Linda, are you clicking the photo first, so it shows up in the small liine below your selection in your browser?  Otherwise, go to photos on your main page, and I think there is a selection of Q & A or ask our N4M admins.  They can help, too. I'm on my way to church, and can look it up better later.
  • KathyMmom

    A Word In Due Season

    GOD'S PLAN

Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

When God formed each of us, He had a specific plan and purpose in mind so He did not give us the same qualities and abilities, but placed in each of us all that we would need to be able to do His will. Isaiah 55:8-9 says, "God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts." His thoughts and plans are higher than ours. In fact, the scriptures declare that the distance between God's thoughts and our thoughts is as far as heaven is from the earth. This is because, for the most part, our thoughts are concerned with today's business and what is happening right now and God's thoughts are on eternity.

Sometimes we find ourselves in great difficulties and can't understand why, but Romans 8:18 declares that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. We may think that we are in a hopeless place with no way of escape because we are surrounded by darkness and separated from others. Yet, we must remember that regardless of how hopeless our situation may look, God has a plan, and it is for good and not evil, to give us a future and a hope.

Consider the butterfly. God had a future for it, but it had to go through much turmoil before it was released to display God's beauty and glory. It began by spinning itself into a cocoon and may not have realized that the end result of its spinning would be capturing itself in a small dark place for a very long season. It may have been surprised when it found itself separated from others in this quiet place, totally alone with God. This place was also humbling, for there was no beauty in the appearance of the cocoon attached to a branch. It probably wondered what happened to its original dream.

As bad as the outside may have looked to others, the inside was much worse for the caterpillar itself. It was in greater turmoil than anyone could ever imagine as it struggled on its own, in great labor and difficulty. No one could help it get through its ordeal, and no one could set it free but God. Receiving its release meant it had to force its body through a narrow passage. Yet, this was God's provision of glory and beauty for the butterfly. It is through the pressure caused by moving through this narrow passage that nature forces the juices into the vessels of the wings and releases the beauty that God intended. If someone intervened and stop God's process by releasing the butterfly early, it would end up with a huge swollen body and shriveled wings and it would be forced to crawl through life rather than fly.

God knows where you are and you must believe that He has a glorious end in sight. He wants you to be complete and fully equipped to operate in His plan. He calls you out when He sees that you are ready and not a moment before. He does not want you crawling through life like a shriveled caterpillar but soaring like a beautiful butterfly. God is working His plan in your life, but you must call upon Him and search for Him with all of your heart. Remember that as you pass through the dark and narrow places, He is preparing you for the time of your release. Trust in the Lord. He does have a future with a hope, and in the fullness of His time, His glory will be

Oh Bondie,  anytime I hear a siren or see an accident, an immediate prayer goes up.

I'm asking the Lord to guide your sailor, to watch after his elbow, and that he finds himself in the mass of work that all our sailors do each day.  Bless them.
