All you moms with time off over Christmas have yourselves a great time. If you have boots in the house even better! Lots of ho ho ho.
J's/S's, what a wonderful Christmas! The more kids you have the harder it is to get them all together at one time but you have a good start. Enjoy! And congrats on the benign diagnosis. I'm so glad!
My oldest has the worst feet. She has gone Dansko before but finds the only true relief she gets is from Birkenstock. She's seen a podiatrist and invested in expensive shoe inserts to no avail. Personally I think 6 pregnancies in 9 years have taken their toll as well.
E'sproudmom, I love the pic of the 3 boys. What fine looking young men. Love it!
B'sNuke, that photo is so cute. Everybody looks good but best of all look happy.
This is the last work day before days off so I probably won't be watching posts. Merry Christmas, Sea Sisters! Love you all.
ProudOfK - thanks for sharing the info on the Dansko's. I'll definitely look into them. I'm hoping this is just temporary and that soon I'll be back to normal!
J's/S's - That is wonderful news from the Dr and a perfect Christmas present :D Merry Christmas to YOU! Enjoy your time with family.
E'sproudmom - great picture - thanks for sharing! Yep, Holidays will be different from here on out but know that you are not alone!
NancyJo - I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!!! Enjoy the grandbabies :)
JayDee - kind of nice that you can hold off on your Christmas shopping - that's the positive in the situation! You & hubby have a wonderful Christmas and I hope you get in some skiing!
I want to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas. N4M holds a special place in my heart and always will - you have no idea how much you all mean to me :D I've been fortunate to meet some of you over the years and I hope to meet more of you in the future. (Maybe someday we can plan a N4M get together - wouldn't that be fun?!?)
Blessings to all of you - if you are fortunate enough to have your Sailor home, enjoy and get extra hugs! If you won't be seeing your Sailor for the holiday know that they are thinking of you and know that we are all thinking of each other. Us momma's always gotta stick together!
Star Wars was awesome! And we arrived at Gma's house, then drove around my husband's home town looking at all the Christmas lights. I enjoyed seeing all of the pictures posted today.
If you know me then you know that my husband traveled, and after our oldest daughter went to college it was just me and my sailor for years. When we went to church, sailor liked to sit on the end of the pew. This quickly became habit. After she left for boot camp I would sit at church, leaving the end space empty for her. Sometimes a friend would sit there when their family was not with them, it made me happy that someone sat with me. My husband is now home and he was puzzled at first but then came to accept that the end space would be left open. Sailor is not with me but there's always a space for her in my heart. Just as I know Jesus is always with me, I know my sailor will always love me and think of me.
It's just me and my husband this year at Christmas. Sailor has duty tomorrow and it's unlikely that she will get to call us. I know she's thinking of me and I look forward to seeing her next week, that will be the celebration of family for us.
Tonight we'll go to church and celebrate the birth of Jesus. I will pray for all our military personnel whether they are home, deployed or standing watch. I will also say a prayer for all my mom friends here who have meant so much to me. If your sailor is not with you, know that they love and miss you.
I hope everyone had a nice Christmas and hopefully if you didn't get to see your Sailor you at least got to talk to them at some point! For those of you saying your goodbyes hang in there! Remember "It doesn't get easier, you just get stronger".
JayDee - counting down the days until you get to see your nukette & her nuke hubby!

Trying not to think about next weeks goodbye and not miss him while he is still with me. On a happy note, my husband surprised me with the most beautiful Christmas gift. I know you ladies will appreciate how special these are!
Picked up my boy from GC. I'm taking him home for a few days. His brother drove with me. He will only get today with him because he has to head to Atlanta with his team to cheer at the Atlanta Falcons game and for his school at the Peach Bowl. He misses his brother though!
Welcome Wrestlingmomma - my son was a wrestler as well.
To all the newbie's be sure to share a little bit of where you are at in your navy journey.
My son graduated bc PIR 8/25/17 - he is currently at GC going to A school as an ET. His projected A school graduation is March 30th. I have been blessed to have him home for Christmas and I continue to pray for clear weather for his return, despite the fact that my youngest would have preferred to have had a white Christmas like most of his other cousins did.
Merry (belated) Christmas folks! Spent yesterday away from my computer and focusing on family. We had a rare white Christmas (and Christmas Eve) here in the Pacific NW. It has been gorgeous, and luckily hasn't impacted the area too terribly much, though I'm sure some people couldn't get to where Santa was expecting them.
I'm feeling very fortunate that my sailor is home for 17 days(!), and his sibling lives only 12 blocks away from me. We had Christmas morning at my house then dinner at their house.
There were numerous hugs given and received throughout the day. With each one I thought of all the sailors and their families who cannot be together this holiday season. I hugged my sailor extra tight for all y'all. Huge respect and love to those who do without in order to serve, or love those who do. (((hugs!!)))
Had to say Goodbye today to my nuke. As it was 12* and snowing, I think he was glad to head back to Hawaii. We had a great 10 days. His twin was also home. It was the first time the three of us were together for Christmas since 2011.
Awww CoTwin - KoKo wants to go with him! It 's so nice that the 3 of you could be together for Christmas. I'm sure you made some great memories.
PattiP - wow, an Aruba trip for your daughter - that sounds like fun! You sure have been having some cold brrrr. B is still in Michigan at his GF's and I guess the news said it's the coldest Christmas on record for Michigan. Better him than me! Our temps are supposed to hit almost 80 today. Definitely one of our warmest Christmas's in a long time! Our weather has been so weird this year and still no rain so that's not good for us...... :(
PacNWmom - sounds like you are having a wonderful Christmas! Enjoy the time!
(Excuse the improper grammar on the picture - I just found it on the internet!)
Back to work now from the holiday. How wonderful to see how everybody celebrated with (or without) their nukes. Aruba sounds good today with a high temp forecasted in single digits here in Omaha. Yes, and Hawaii too. It's mid-morning and right now it's 3 degrees, feels like -7. B'Nuke, thanks for letting us know it's 80 in SoCal. <sigh>
JayDee, your story about saving a place for your daughter in church touched my heart. How sweet. Any of us missing our sailors recognizes the emptiness of that space, and likewise the space in our hearts. Thanks for sharing that.
I was able to talk to my nuke a couple times over the weekend. I'm getting it in before he leaves on deployment. Then last night he had his 5-yo in the ER. She went head first into the handlebars of her brother's new bike and broke her nose. At least it was after Christmas Day. Our family doesn't have the best noses in the first place. This might actually be an improvement but only time will tell. ;O
Love you all, Sea Sisters! (And the new guys who have joined us.) For those who still have their sailors at home, enjoy and get those hugs in for the rest of us.
Nancy Jo, poor princess, I hope her little nose is feeling better!
B'sNukeMom, I have my hot hands ready to go. Fortunately we can go in as we want to. I have an ear infection so I may be doing that. Hate to miss good snow though!
Lol! It's 4 degrees here in sw iowa, light snow, and i grilled dinner tonight. Outside. Probably didn't have shoes on either. I don't remember.
I do know I go to the mailbox without shoes on every day. And that's to the curb btw, not the front door.
Temperature is always relative. What I always find humorous is everyone bundled up in November as it hits freezing and those same people running around outside with no coats in February when it warms up to 32.
Paul, you are a born Midwesterner. That's the spirit! I personally like the seasons and don't mind the cold usually. My sailor in San Diego is not missing the cold, though. The one thing they like about CA is the weather.

You can't be a wimp and survive there. On the other hand you can be a wimp and survive where I live now just fine - southeast Washington. I really don't miss those Minnesota winters.
Well that's just a NO NO NO Paul! I could never do it! I'm freezing here in SoCal - if it's below 75 it's too cold for me lol! My hubby always jokes that we are really limited as to where we can retire since I don't do well in cold weather. Also, my mom is from Osage and I have some (distant) relatives still there.

Skiing in a wind chill of 3* with a double ear infection - no thank you! I hope it went well for you and you had a nice hot totty when you were done! Counting down the days for you!
Oh JayDee, so many challenges! Ear infections, polar temps, then amputation! Wow, a holiday to remember. I cut off about a half inch of my right ring finger about 10 years ago. I sympathize with your daughter. Well, all that will be put aside when you are all together again. Soon!
