I got a response and they asked if you could screen shot the problem as it happens on your phone so I can send it to her.  That might help a little in solving the mystery.  I did send a copy of the gibberish that your phone posted yesterday JayDee and also I told her about your endless loop DesertRose.

  • B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)

Making another test post from my phone.

  • JayDee659

BsB'sNukeMohrte is an exexamplof what I gge

  • B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)

lol JayDee - I forwarded it to Ashley!

  • JayDee659

It's almost like a secret code.

Today I got a message on FB messenger saying that Marshall W. General wanted to connect with me.  I figured it was a scam and after I looked at it I'm pretty positive.  His profile says he's in the US Army and attended USA Army Academy.  The message was even better, it said he "Saw your pic on FB and like the wy you look to me.  Please lets us be friends".  Right...not.  What a creeper.  Just thought I'd mention it in case any of you ladies heard from him, don't waste your time, just delete it.

  • B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)

hahaha - well I just got a response from NING and apparently you all don't know how to type!  The guy there told me "they must have just miss typed their response - have them delete it and repost".  WTH?!?  I assured him it wasn't the typing that something else was going on and I even mentioned DesertRose's comment about being stuck in a loop.  He hasn't responded back yet ~ ughhhhhhh

  • B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)

Gosh JayDee - Marshall just wants to be your friend lol!

  • NancyJo (NNPTC)

LOL B'sNuke. Yes, JayDee, you just look so darn cute in your profile pic you are irresistible! It's the price you pay...

  • B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)

Oh and the book "The Fatal Dive" arrived the other day but I haven't had time to start it yet.  Hopefully one of these evenings I'll crack it open.

  • B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)

JayDee and DesertRose - now Ning is responding and asking me what type of device/phone you are typing on.  Let me know please so I can pass on that info.

  • DesertRose

BsNukeMom - thanks for looking into the phone issue.  I am using a Droid Turbo phone.  I took a screenshot of the page the  'mobile Friendly' option took me too but I can not get to the gallery on my phone to post it here.   It is not an option.   Too funny about not knowing how to type....some days it certainly feels that way. Haha

JayDee - thanks for the heads up about your friend George.  ;)

  • DesertRose

BsNukeMom - update on mobile friendly view.

I was selecting the 'pop up' option to change to Mobile view NOT the option at the bottom of the ning page.  When I choose that option, I do not get the endless loop. So, it might be my phone's operating system that is causing the pop up option.  But in any case, I will use the option at the bottom of the page.  Thanks again.

Here's the latest response from NING:

    Feb 28, 2018 at 6:59pmResponse (Anthony Ning Support)Hi!
We suppose that the Predictive text on a mobile device may cause the problem. It's usually set up by default on all devices, Android and IPhone.
Please, learn the article, and pass this information to your members:
    https://www.techadvisor.co.uk/how-to/google-android/turn-off-predic...

If you have any further questions, please feel free contact us

    Best regards,
    Ning support team

  • JayDee659

    Hmm maybe it's my keyboard

  • PacNWmom

"We suppose that the predictive text on a mobile device may cause the problem"??!? That must be it, because I'm sure JayDee often intends to type "hrte is an exexamplof what I gge". I can see why her phone got it wrong. <sarcasm font>

Not to slam Ning's support department. I'm sure they're doing the best they can with  a baffling situation. But it reminds me of when I used to work in a large school district. The last 4 digits of their tech support department's office's phone number spelled out "desk" (i.e. 555-DESK). I used to tell people their extension was "DESK" instead of "HELP" because they weren't really all that helpful. For instance, if you got locked out of your email, they would email you your new email password. Anyone else see the flaw there?

  • Chipmunk

PacNWmom - LOL!! Interestingly, I came home this afternoon to an email from my husband. He evidently had an irritating time with his IT person. Their passwords had all been "accidently" changed!

I hope those using their phones can get things working normally again.

JayDee- thanks for the spam alert!!

Submom - I hope things dry out for you soon. We finally got some rain our direction.

WearsLargeHats - thanks for the American Red Cross reminder.

  • AZNuKeGma

  • CSW

    Congrats AZNuKeGma!

Enjoy your time there! Take lots of photos!

  • B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)

    Hi all - Happy Thursday!

Yep, Ning closed the case so that is all - not sure I agree with this but who am I to say?!?  Let me know if any of you continue to have issues posting from your phones and I'll re-submit a case.  Frustrating to say the least!

AZNuKeGma - woohoo - congrats!  Will you be heading there for the graduation?

Chipmunk - hmmmm accidentally changing all the passwords.  Now that is frustrating!

PacNWmom - now that's just funny - emailing your password when you are locked out of your emails!

Thanks B'sNukeMom.  Guess I'll have to stop misspelling all those words on purpose :(

Our helpdesk here has some issues too.  After hours it rolls to an off site, second party company.  They frequently will tell us that they'll open a ticket with our guys so they see it when they come in.  Helpful.  I am lucky enough to work for the EVP and it so happens that the CIO reports directly to him.  I also work for a VP whose brother is the president of the company.  I've been told that I'm on a list of people who automatically get bumped up to priority.  Occasionally when they get a new help desk guy they'll bring him up and introduce them to me and say "she's the one on the priority list".  Haha.  I'm sure they have another name for me down there but when the execs are yelling I need immediate results, and usually get them.

  • B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)

JayDee - good to be on the priority list lol!  I wish we had a priority list here - Ning just doesn't seem to be very helpful :(

  • B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)

Hey everyone - I won't be around much tomorrow.  My mom's escrow closes so I'm going with her to get the keys & start moving some stuff.

    Remember to wear your RED!!!

  • AZNuKeGma

Yes we will leaving to go to GC next week. Grandson D is so excited. He is is doing very well. Top 14% of his class. He has final test on Tues. And he did not get the mando 13 hr study time this weekend. He’s going to the beach by himself

  • momterp

Good luck,  B'sNukeMoM⚓️MM! We'll be thinking of you and your mom!

  • momterp

Congrats to your grandson, AZNuKeGma! Have a great time in NC!

  • DesertRose

AzNukeGma - Awesome news about your Grandson!  Congrats!

BsNukeMom - thanks for trying to get answers from Ning.  I am loving all the science memes.  Where did you find them?  My youngest wants to share them with his science teacher.

  • JayDee659

On this day in 1904 Theodor Geisel, better known to the world as Dr. Seuss was born.  So here we go, OPSEC & Ham:

  • NNLori

AzNukeGma- congratulations to your Sailor!! That is quite an accomplishment. Have a great time on your visit!!

B'sNukeMom- Good luck with the move!! It's so nice when our parents embrace the inevitable change in their lives. My Dad has always had a hard time with change. Since my Mom passed away he spends much more time looking back rather than ahead. It's sad to see him so lonely. I can only do so much to help him. In the end he has to decide he wants to enjoy life again. I hope he will some day. I just hate to see him waste precious time.

I just love the cute cartoons!! The photon one is so cute!! I had to save it and send it to my son. I don't think he appreciated it as much as I do!! LOL

I really don't try to do this on my phone at all because I have no idea how to respond on that device so that is why I don't respond very often. I have to wait until I can get to my lap top. Sometimes it takes me a while. But, I always enjoy reading the chatter that goes on. I love the support everyone gives each other. Just an awesome group of Mom's on this site. Love you all!! Such a wonderful support for me!

Have a great weekend every one.

  • Chipmunk

    I've got my red on!!

JayDee - thanks for sharing OPSEC & Ham!

Those with sailors headed to GC this weekend, be sure to read over the information pages on the right.

  • The Hammer

Quick question - when your sailor graduates from boot camp and is headed to Goose Creek... are they allowed to bring a personal bag of clothes and stuff or should I plan on shipping that? My son called today and was talking about bringing a rolling bag. Any help is appreciated!

  • kai cat

The Hammer - what date is your son's pir?

  • Chipmunk

The Hammer - They will have their hands full with Sea bag, garment bag, and a back pack that they have to carry in their hands (not allowed to be carried on their back in their dress uniform). If you bring a rolling bag, I would make sure it is small. They are allowed to check in up to 5 bags, I think when on orders for free, at least on AA. But I just brought a small drawstring bag for my son's tennis shoes, extra set of "comfy" clothes and his phone. He bought his laptop once at GC and that all fit in his back pack.

If he has a laptop you are bringing it might be helpful to have a small bag. Keep in mind that they will all be transported from the Charleston Airport to NNPTC in GC, and have to be able to pack all of their luggage in the transport as well.

Definitely bring phone and change of tennis shoes for PT and 5K run they do every week. The rest can always be shipped with USPS flat rate priority.

  • The Hammer

My son will have PIR on March 23rd.
  • The Hammer

    Thank you for the info!!!
  • kai cat

Anyone have a nuke graduating this Fri? I am so excited I really feel my boy will make his run and pir in his group! I will be going to sarges meet n great on Thursday....any other nuke moms going? I would love to meet you!!

  • Eaglemom01

Is there a way to search within our feeds for previously discussed topics? My officer is now in GC and I want to be able to send him something for his birthday later this month.

  • Mammagoose

Do any of you have any words of wisdom regarding how to tell your child in nuke school that their grandmother has died?  He is aware that she was sick....even failing in health but she passed tonight.  He has a big test this week and I don't want to mess him up right before it.  His PO knows that something is going on and services won't be until this summer.

  • DSmom

I would probably tell my son -- not tect or email but wait until we can talk on the phone. Then just be there for him through it if he needed me. That's just my experience and opinion.
  • Chipmunk

Mammagoose - First of all my condolences to your family. I pray for comfort and peace for your family during this time.

I agree with DSmom - see if  you can reach your son by phone. I don't recall which rating he is, I know mine has PT on T & Th afternoon and I can generally text him around 3 pm their time and hope he sees it to call me back when he is between PT and back to Rickover. Based on the experiences with my children and their grandparents, especially when they knew they were sick, they preferred knowing, even when they were in the midst of other things. The time we couldn't reach one and it was several days later, was harder on him, I think because he didn't know it in the moment.

It is a tough call, but as my sailor told me with something we had last year - "Mom, I can handle it." He also had an upcoming test, but he needed to know. If you have a way of contacting his PO, you might let him know and maybe he could just give your son a message to be sure to return to his BEQ and call his mom before coming back to study tonight.

  • Chipmunk

Eaglemom0 - In the discussions above you can click on View All and then there is a search option for it that shows up. The comments are harder. You can do a control F on your computer to get a search box for the page to come up but that is tedious. There maybe be information in the Care Pkg discussion above. Or you may just ask your question here and most likely someone will comment.

Kai Cat - staying hopeful with you for your son's run and PIR!

  • NNLori

Hey ladies! Can anyone tell me where I can find the bases that are Nukes will be placed after school is finished. I remember seeing a list but I cannot remember where I found it. I'm thinking it was here on this site but I truly just don't remember. I think there are only 4 or 5 possible bases for them to be placed and I was looking for it again. So if anyone knows I would appreciate it.

  • B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)

  • Chipmunk

Welcome aboard to all the new members! Please share about where you are on your Navy journey. My son is currently at GC, an ET attending A school. His expected graduation date is April 6th.

  • Chipmunk

Please share with your sailors at GC - my son was at the Bowman Center the other day and found out that they were going to show Thor: Ragnarok this Tuesday eve. He asked why they showed movies during the week when most of them are studying. The lady told him that if he could get 10 people together, they could do another showing of it on Friday night this week.

So, please pass along to your sailors, if they are interested to let the lady at Bowman Center know, or my son in class 1801-T. Thanks!!

  • kai cat

Chipmunk - You're so awesome Chipmunk!  Can't wait for the Ima sailor call!!

  • SubMom

spent all last week cleaning up from the flood at work (and will be doing so this week as well). With that said I’ve not had the time (or energy) to read through all the posts. So here goes:

Kai cat - best of luck to your son! He’s got this!!

Mammagoose - I’m so sorry to hear of your loss.

Chipmunk - thanks for the movie update.
