    Hi Ladies!!
Reaching out to ask for prayers for my son! He is struggling in Power School and could use some prayers. He is getting the extra help he needs which is great! Pray for less stress and good sleep so that he is able to focus and learn. He is set to graduate in the next couple of months, so I think they are in the toughest part of school right now! Thanks bunches!!

  • Chipmunk

Khryse - I will be praying for your son. Power School is tough. They are receiving a lot of information all at once on three different subjects. I forgot what the phrase is that some use to describe it - like college on a super work out, or adrenaline rush all the time. Intense is a good word. Feel free to PM me.

  • Chipmunk

Rakenator - WooHoo!! Congratulations to your sailor!! Thanks for sharing with Khryse as well.

FYI - for those that don't know, once your sailor gets to the fleet, they still have to become fully qualified out in the fleet. So their learning and testing doesn't end with oral boards and Prototype.

  • Northwoodsmom

Rakenator, congratulations, so happy for you and your son.

Khryse, holding your son up in prayer. Nothing is Impossible with God, you got him in the right place!

  • Gigi

Rakenator  -  Congratulations!! Whoohoo for having a qualified Nuke

Khryse - love and  prayers for you and your son. He will get through this. And we will all finish strong.

    Happy Thursday!

Rakenator - BZ to your son on finishing up the pipeline!  Now on  to the fleet ;-D

khryse - prayers for your son in PS.  That was the hardest for B too....keep encouraging him, he's got this!

Last Friday, My son transferred barracks again in the preparation of his new class. But didn’t tell me if he’s starting this week. Northwoodsmom our sons might end up in one class. Though he called this weekend but only enumerated the food he likes to eat, argh

DsMom - glad he’s doing well with school and his legs. 2 months before A school graduation (in January) when my son started MIA, he doesn’t even text back and would call/text at his convenience just to let me know he’s still there but otherwise nothing. Was just thankful for the short visit in November and a 2 week’s Christmas holidays. Yours is probably in the same phase of “don’t disturb me, I’m busy”

    I've got my RED on!

  • B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)

  • Chipmunk

Everyone have a great weekend!! Even with busy schedules and lots of studying Saturday was usually the best time for us to reach out to our sailor during the Pipeline (well except Prototype). Some mornings he would go running with another classmate who was working on their endurance and time for the run but it was generally his chill time and laundry day.

I had my red on yesterday but ended up at home the entire time waiting on a delivery for my husband.  We ended up being the last stop of the day but the man was really nice and put it right into the garage!

This about sums up my Monday!

  • NonnaB

Hello Navy friends, I have loved reading all your posts about your sailors in the Nuke pipeline. My son finished boot camp 11(!) years ago and I like seeing my experiences through new eyes. He has planned to make a career in the Navy and is, once again, on sea duty but this time, on an SSGN. I talked to him yesterday, to reminisce about Mr. B, who has now been gone for 4 years. His Dad was so proud of him that I know he is watching him across the universe.

keep posting all your great stories of Navy life. Have a great week, all!

  • Chipmunk

B'sNukeMom - I think I will have to use your Meme to describe my day today!! I have some unexpected family things come up so I won't be able to be checking in here much but I am sending hugs to all!

NonnaB - it is always good to hear from you!! All the best to your sailor as he pursues his career.

  • NancyJo (NNPTC)

NonnaB, how nice to hear from you! Our sailors are on a similar timeline. I took him to MEPS May 12, 2010 but mine is separating in November. There's a lot of shared history, not all of it good. I also remember when Mr. B passed away. Best of everything to you and your sailor as he continues on. Hooyah!

B’sNukeMom - your post reminded me that it was 3 years ago today that my son graduated from Power School. They dubbed them the Star Wars class. I can’t believe it’s already 3 years ago. Thanks for the reminder of a very pleasant beautiful day. We were fortunate enough to get to go and the weather was absolutely perfect.

  • ProudOfK

  • B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)

ProudOfK - 3 years - how time flies!  And it was 3 years ago in August that we met up in Washington!

  • ProudOfK

B’sNukeMom Wow you’re right. I can hardly believe it’s been that long.

  • Tulip

NonnaB,  best wishes to your Sailor as he continues on his Navy journey! Hard to believe how fast time flies. I trust that Mr. B is smiling on your son! Take care!

  • Northwoodsmom

Good morning, my son called last night all excited to tell me his commander told them that once they get the vaccine and keep their grades and inspections in good shape that their chits will be approved and restrictions will be less.  I think they are pushing the Sailors to get the vaccine. Now he is talking about a tattoo. He said everyone has them even there commanding officers. When it gets hot out they roll up their sleeves and you can see them. Don't know how I feel about either the vaccine or the tattoo!

  • somar

NWM..... Tattoos are a part of the military. My S has talked about one as well. S said they have to submit the design for up the chain of command for approval. Totally different from when I was in the Army. If your S decides to get one try to steer it be put some where that can be covered up with clothes. My S has designed his own. It will be basically a patch work of all the units our family has served in from great grandfather down.
My S wasn't going to take the vaccine until the chit process and restriction carrot was put out there.
S will graduate from PS at the end of June. I will be going to GC for a 5 day visit.
  • NancyJo (NNPTC)

My son has a ton of tattoos and the navy hasn't said boo about them. He has his crow on one shoulder and he is proud of that. He has something for each of his kids and he has "Mom" in a heart. I love the patchwork of unit idea. I think the meaningful ones are better. Meanwhile my sailor isn't getting vaccinated either and since he's out in November he doesn't really care.

  • Northwoodsmom

Sonar, thanks for the heads up on the tattoo, don't know if he will listen to his mom anymore though. That is such a great idea to do his families military history as a tattoo. We have a long history as well starting with his great grandpa being in WW1 at the age of sixteen.3 army, 2 air force and 1 Navy.

We are also heading down there the end of June, might bump into each other. Prayers for your son finishing up Power School!

Right now what I am hearing about the vaccine by us is the ones that had Covid are the ones having the most reaction to the vaccine. My son is scheduled next week for his.

  • somar

I've had both doses of Pfizer. Slept all the next day after the 1st. No real side effects after the 2nd. But I did not have COVID. My S received dose one last week and no side effects.

NWM, maybe we will bump into one another. My S is trying nail down the group he will be renting a house with.

Sonar, my son had his renting group all set up but went into ROM and then held back do now he needs to make some other friends to rent with.  Good luck to your son, hope the very best for him.

My hubby is a graphic designer (among other things) and our Sailor asked him to design his tattoo.  It is a composite design that incorporates a dolphin and shellback, a dragon, a whale and a Japanese proverb. Hubby and Sailor went to get tat together and hubby got the Proverb portion—his first and only. Lol

Happy FriYAY!! And Happy Mother’s Day!!

Last year we celebrated Mother’s Day on FaceTime, my SR then was at GWLodge with phone privilege for 2 weeks before heading to BC.

My son got his first dose last week, praying he won’t get any reaction like I had on my first. My arm swells, so red, itchy, sore and warm. Like hives! Mine came out after a week Then it disappear exactly after a week. My second dose is next Friday. Contemplating but .. hmmm

Everyone have a great FriYAY! Praying for a phone calls to all on SONday!

  • NancyJo (NNPTC)

    Tulip, I love that! Getting father/son tats sounds like such a manly thing to do and so meaningful. When my ex-husband died 3 of my kids got tats that would be a memorial to him and I asked what kind of tat they would get for me. My sailor jumped right in and said a margarita. Really son? One time we went out to eat and I ordered a margarita which shocked him which tells you how much I drink. That's where he went. That must have really embedded in his brain. I'm letting this go since I might not like the answer and I won't be around to see them anyway. ;^}

Gigi, FriYAY indeed! Got my red on!

  • Gigi

Tulip - I checked your profile you’re also from Memphis, we’re neighbors. Not sure if you’re interested but Whattaburger is opening in Southaven late this year, it’s a drive for a burger. I’m sure the design tat is beautiful. Heard that we have a few trusted tat clinic here in Memphis even Hollywood stars get it there. (?) when was Nuke graduated prototype? I’m praying for you and your sailor. Hug tight <3

Happy Almost Mother's Day everyone!! Thoughts and hugs to all of you!! I almost hesitate to say anything because I know so many of you receive little communication from your sailors - but I was blessed to have my sailor be the first of my "out of the house" children call me on my recent birthday and then I was able to visit with him today, as I believe he is working on Mother's Day. I think his girlfriend was nudging him to make that call though. :-)

The children I was struggling with not making my birthday calls were my two who had more opportunity to do so, but I guess I was just not being patient enough because the all did and I even had a video chat with my grandbaby!! - something we have been trying to coordinate for a bit.

I was letting myself get depressed over it especially when I also found out I had another family member out of town that needed my assistance. All in all, after much talking to myself and giving myself some time to deal with things I had to, I had a safe trip up and back and I enjoyed my time with my other family. Our sailors are working hard, and while we miss them a lot and sometimes they don't really acknowledge us even, they do miss us as well. And their schedules just don't always allow for them to call us exactly when we want, I have learned to be much more flexible with my sailor with regards to his communication with me, now I have to keep working on it with my other family members as well and most importantly watch my own attitude.

  • DsMom2020

My son says there is no chance of attending his upcoming A school graduation. Is there somewhere online that I can watch it? I got locked out of my Facebook account. It does not remember my device and I did not properly set up two factor authentication so it keeps asking me to have my app generate a code - but that does not work since I don’t have one. Been round and round for two weeks. Contacting Facebook was a round robin of failure. Anyway, I set up a new FB account in case that is how I connect to NNPTC grad video.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

  • DsMom2020

Also wondering if anyone knows of a place near Goose Creek where my don can get photos in his dress uniforms.

  • Chipmunk

DsMom2020 - Have you contacted the ombudsman for NNPTC? They might know. I was never on a FB account even when my sailor was at NNPTC so I am not sure. Hopefully someone that has gone through things recently knows, I was fortunate to be able to attend my sailors graduations and at that time, I don't think they taped them.

As for a place - are you asking if there is someone that does professional pictures, or just a place to take a picture. NNPTC is surrounded by trees so you might see if one of his shipmates could take a picture of him near a nice wooded portion there. All of my pictures were taken inside against plain walls so nothing fancy.

    Happy Mother's Day Everyone!!

Some flowers from my yard I thought I would share.

  • Chipmunk

D'sMom2020 - Here is the NNPTC - Ombudsman info link I had meant to send it last night but it was getting late on my side of the country!

  • DsMom2020

Thank you Chipmunk! I reached out to the ombudsman. As suspected, families cannot attend graduation in person (still hoping he’ll get a post graduation visit approved tho). But they do live stream it every Friday at 9:00 am and it stays up on the Facebook page. Here is the link: https://m.facebook.com/navalnuclearpowertrainingcommand/

I also asked the ombudsman if there are any photo studios specializing in military photos (son thought their might be) - there are none recommended but several photo studios nearby. I want a nice portrait but for now, a photo taken with his iPhone standing in front of a tree or in front of the NNPTC will have to do. Thank you for the suggestion.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you proud navy moms!

  • DsMom2020

Happy Tuesday Everyone!! How are we doing?

Thinking about all of my friends on here. We have a rainy day so I am having to stir myself up and get motivated to work. I love the natural light in my new house but when it is raining well there is not a lot of lighting yet, so I am going to need to get creative. My mother in law had a floor lamp she was going to give me when I went last week to care for her and I forgot it. I was frustrated because I had plenty of room to bring it back on my solo trip. Next time the car will be full.

    Anyone have graduations coming up?
