    Hi Tori,

Welcome! If you found out anything let me know and I will let you know!
  • Arwen

Do ITs attend ATT in Great Lakes before entering ITA?
  • Arwen

Does anything know the status of the murder of that young sailor that happened near Corry Station two weeks ago? I was wondering if they have found her killer yet, or if there are any (public) leads in the case? Are they restricting sailors to base or anything?

My son will be headed to Corry Station this spring and I've already warned him to be careful and stay on base.

This is ridiculous. Our servicemen expect to have to be careful in Iraq and Afghanistan. They shouldn't have to fear for their lives just blocks from their training base in the US!

Any info would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you, L

    Hi Kathy

My son is currently in C school. It is very fast paced compared to A school from what I understand. Is your son in A school there ?

  • Sherri_M

Hey all, I'm new here and would love help!  My son will be here on Saturday and told he was classing up on Monday.  I have no idea anything else.  So will this just be A school here?  My son said it was 157 days long?  Is this true?  Any help is appreciated!
  • danagagirl

My son graduates boot camp on Nov 10 and will arrive in Pensacola Nov 11. Any words of advice would be appreciated as this is all new. His brother went through bootcamp and his A schools, so I know most of it,but he is a different rank. Just wondering how this IT side works...thanks to all.
  • Invisible12

Hi danagagirl - fancy meeting you here! LOL.  It's nice that our boys were together in BC and will be together at Corry Station too.  I really don't know much about A School so I'm hoping to get plenty of info and advice here.  There are other groups you could join too http://www.navyformoms.com/group/itaschoolers, http://www.navyformoms.com/group/itmoms, http://www.navyformoms.com/group/sailorsinpensicolaflforaschool and http://www.navyformoms.com/group/sailorsatcorrystationholdingorinsc...

I switch back and forth between all of them.  9 MORE DAYS FOR US !!!!

  • danagagirl

Hi Invisible - here we go again!! This time next week our boys will be Pensacola bound!!

Kathy - thank you for the welcome .. My son wants Hawaii too.He is the more academic son, so hopefully he will do well in his schools.

  • danagagirl

Invisible, it was great to officially meet you! Our boys did wonderful! Hope your travels back were uneventful! :)

  • danagagirl

Kathy - my son said he will be there a year and half.. maybe some other training or just on hold?? All this classified mess..lol. Best of luck to your son. One of my dearest friend's son is stationed in Hawaii too.

  • danagagirl

He said he is Advanced IT, so maybe that has something to do with it Kathy.. Hopefully will find out more later on.. His brother is due home after his sub training in Dec, so Christmas in Pensacola :) with my two boys. Prob be the last time they are together for a while

  • Sherri_M

My son said the same thing...he's being told he will be in P-cola for almost another year and a half....I was confused...but he said he thinks between A and C school he will be on hold for about 3 months.  He keeps telling us that he's been told C school is between 6-9 months, but everything I've read and know about is that it's maybe a year...depending "on holds"  and the holidays.  He loses T-giving and Christmas...but still, that's not that much time.  I guess when he is done, he is done and we will finally know.  Hahaha...

  • Sherri_M

I'm hoping to plan a trip in Jan, although he grads in Feb, and would like to go then...maybe two trips!!!!!  I deserve it, yea...two trips it is!

  • danagagirl

Sherri - that's about what my son said, he kept telling me it's classified.. and I asked was this now his answer to all my questions! and he laughed and said of course.

Kathy - thanks, I am looking forward to it. Found out they are adding a flex day to work and I might qualify, if so, son #1 and I may get to leave a day earlier to see #2 :)  and thanks for the boost.. just have to keep busy and time will fly!

  • danagagirl

Kathy - what wonderful pictures.. I am looking forward to being able to go out there. I shall definitely keep in touch. always great to know someone who has "been there ..done that"

    :)

  • danagagirl

Will be headed to Pensacola for Christmas weekend..Son #1 and I will be visiting Son #2.. anything we can do when he has watches.. he has already enlightened us to the fact since he is staying back he will have a few watches. Thanks all

  • adelaide

My sailor was told IT A school is about 5 months and he was given a graduation date to reflect that… but I see a lot of you talking about IT C school after that. Do they all do that, or just a few depending on their jobs? Thanks!

  • Leanne

6 year contracts have C school.
  • jennhines

My son just arrive at Corry Station Saturday for IT A School.  Lonely cause all the other moms I menat for his PIR are either staying at GL or at Pensacola for airmen school

  • jennhines

  • lyndarr

Hello - I am looking at the post and it doesn't look too busy. My son leaves Aug. 15th for Basic, and then to Correy Station, for IT. Just looking if someone has a son/daughter leaving about then. I'm starting to feel a little emotional, but so happy for him.

  • anallnewjen

Hello! My son just arrived at Corry Station and is waiting for his class to start. I talked to him a couple of days ago and now he is not answering his phone. Is he restricted when he first gets there?

  • anallnewjen

Hey Stephanie Ship02 Div 917. My son is there now and I can share with you what he has told me. Because of OPSEC, not sure how much should be said in open forum. I sent you a friend request and will gladly answer your question in a PM! Just know he will be in Pensacola a long time.

  • CO-TwinSalorsMom

My son is at Corry since 1-6 anyone know when Graduation is Time wise n 6-6?  I can not come but I have a friend who can take pics for me.  He is an IT.

  • TonyaJosh'sMom

My son has PIR 30AUG2013, then to Pensacola for A school. He is IT. Anybody know about how long to expect him to be waiting to class up? Thanks!

  • PeachyNavyMom

So, my son just arrived at Corry Station on 8/25/13. His rating is IT. He tells me that it will be one week or so and he will start classes. He has called twice already and says that he likes it there so far. God Bless all of Our Sailors ~

  • BoomMom

My son is new arrival as of today to Corry Station (IT rating).  Hope to meet other moms...

  • CO-TwinSalorsMom

OK I rejoined this let me know if I can help. this was not very active. My son has been to Corry and had graduated June 2013. He just returned from his first deployment.  I ended up joining the Pensacola and Corry too group. It was way more active however most were Aviation not IT.

Let me know if you have any questions.

  • BoomMom

Hi Donna... My son just started IT A School.  Did your son find it difficult?  Do you know WHERE C school is, my son did not know at this point.  Your question is good and something I look forward to learning.  I also love the patch.  Hope I can find one that says Center for Information Dominance.  My son likes that... :)  Thank you.

  • CO-TwinSalorsMom

I hear different thing now but when my son graduated if you were one of the op three in the class they got to fill out a dream sheet with three choices of where they would like o be sent. My son was third. The two ahead of him got his top choice, Naples. He did get his second choice, a destroyer. He is stationed on the USS Bainbridge out of Norfolk. He said they can be stationed almost a nowhere as their job is everywhere, that includes the White House. Pretty exciting.
  • CO-TwinSalorsMom

I don't know, you could research it. I did get my son a challenge coin.
  • CO-TwinSalorsMom

I hear that the dream sheet comes and goes. Maybe a need of the navy thing, when they have more need the dream sheet comes back.

I invited another IT mom I know who has a sailor daughter to join on here for another perspective from someone she had a sailor go through and out onto IT things.

  • CO-TwinSalorsMom

    Welcome Peacie mom.
  • BoomMom

Anyone know the break period between A and C school?

  • CO-TwinSalorsMom

My boy was 4year IT he has orders on the USS Bainbridge out of Norfolk. Got deployed imeadeatly. He is back after 7 months. Had all sorts of experiences. He is settling in to life in Norflk. Said "am discovering my inner redneck". LOL
  • CO-TwinSalorsMom

For new moms my son is now an active serving IT if you have questions, I find this choice of job, is fascinating. They will not be able o tell you much but you get the gist of things.
