    Shelly, that hug sounds amazing!

LOL, I didn't know they had great Italian food at Olive Garden....

  • Alicia(12/053 - AO)♥

Hi ladies :) Sorry I haven't been on much lately. I've been in my first algebra class...STRESSFUL!!! Just had my final on Friday. I think I did ok. At the end of last week I was at a 99.3%. Not bad for not being in math for 21 years!! I start algebra 2 next. This should be interesting!

So, there has been so much going on I honestly don't remember the last thing I talked about here! Sailor was home for Christmas. It was the fastest two weeks ever, but I was so so grateful to have him here. There was drama with him getting back to Japan...those ever so wonderful airlines charged him an extra $300 to get on an earlier flight only to have his second flight be late thus making him miss his flight to Japan. They refunded the $$ but I still think it was BS they charged him to begin with. Especially since he is military and was flying back for duty. I just don’t see how airlines get away with charging extra on an already paid in full flight when they cant even be reliable themselves.

Anyways, been skyping with him regularly since he got back. He is in Autsgi working on a special project for the next several months. He’s in a barracks and just loves it! He is so happy that he gets to buy and cook his own meals! He calls/skypes me asking for cooking tips and ideas! I love it!!!

Celebrated my oldest daughters 16th birthday in December and my second daughter turned 15 yesterday. I can honestly say having two teenage girls in the house is easier than having a son in the Navy!!!!

Shelly and cbc I am so happy for you!!! What an awesome surprise J Enjoy the time and yes, get all the hugs in that you can!

I know there are a lot of prayers needed lately and know that I have been praying for everyone. I can’t even imagine the loss that some of you have had to deal with. I pray for strength and healing for ALL who need It.

Can’t complain about the weather here. I do wish we had some snow, but just little!!! I hope everyone is keeping warm and safe with all of the snow/ice they’ve  been getting.

Maggs, I love the moon photo! What a great shot!! I want to get a new camera this year and get into photography more. I love taking pictures but my camera isn’t that great.

T-Lynn, Jack in hot chocolate? Hmmm, I just might have to try that! I like Kahlua in mine! Not had much time for drinks lately. I have been pushing myself so hard to maintain my 4.0 GPA, my “ME” time has been pushed on the back burner. Hopefully after all the math is done I will get a little bit of it back!

Well, I suppose I will get to the laundry. Don’t want to, but it needs to be done L Have a wonderful Sunday sisters ♥

    Oh, and GO SEAHAWKS!!!!

  • Alicia(12/053 - AO)♥

BTW...Ang, where are you? How are you and our Pan Nephew? How was visit with sailor and his family? Hope you are  doing ok!!!

  • T-Lynn

    HI All,

So glad our "lost" Pan moms checked in.  Just because you are a bit busy - moving - taking test - gee - getting on here to gossip is so needed. Really I need it!

Kidding, very glad to hear from you :).

And really - REALLY ! Now we are "oldies" Well this one is still a "goodie" - anyone else laughing?

Maggs - now I'll beg. WRITE  a book girlfriend! What Angel gets into would be a a hoot of a book or calendar. I was laughing so hard and could just see the antics. Plus - you  have that new camera that takes such great photos. The cats here too loves those bags.

What a wonderful surprise - cbc !!!!! Keep hugging that sailor!!! And tell him congrats on his award from us.

Hi New Pan Moms. Welcome aboard. Just keep jumping into the water. WE are here with life savers or we jump in with you :).

And been there too when  I was told it is just like going to college. You did good Pan Mom.

Sorry about no pics of late. Still having issues with some program on this computer. I plan on taking this computer in to the Geeks. I want them to help me find what I am miss communicating to this computer. I put in the card to place the pics on - somehow it will go to Gallery. Not file. So I can see the pictures - but not share any. Frustrating when a computer tells you no.

I found Ang  on FB. Seems she has had quite a bit of busy life. And she is staying on fb. She told me to share some pics of our Pan nephew. So I am hoping that I CAN get those to share.

Nothing much more here - cold weather coming in too. And you are right - Jack and hot chocolate - not so good. Its not good in Cherry Pepsi either!

    Hugs to all

  • Alicia(12/053 - AO)♥

Ha, thanks for warning about jack and cherry pepsi T-Lynn!

I'm friends with Ang on fb too but I haven't seen much from her lately.

I promise I will check in and gossip more!!!

  • BADma

  • Anti M

BADma, congrats on the new family member!

Alicia, wow, math... so glad you are kicking its tail.

I finally met my nuke nephew's fiancee.  She is smart and sweet.  Turns out I've know her brother for a long time, he was my nephew's best friend when they were kids.  I just didn't make the connection right away.

Larry was home yesterday, so we went shopping and had a big lunch for my birthday, then we went to fire conclave production meeting.  Already planning for our summer events.

  • Grayce

Ok so over the weekend, and after reading more up on where our Sailor will be, I've got some other questions. I'm sure we can learn to Skype. We're former gamers so it shouldn't be that difficult but I'm so glad this support system is here. I've found so much useful information on this forum. I'll have to add some pics later and I'll probably have more questions but these are things I came up with over the weekend.

    On to my questions:

Seems silly but as far as their electronics go, will he have to get a new TV or adapter or are the bases/facilities there adapted. I'm not certain that there's a need but I know Europe has different electrical outlets. Similar question, DVD's work the same or will we have to buy ones for that region?

Does the Navy let them take things like TV's or things with them when they ship out like this? Our Sailor will be in Sasebo and not on a ship. But I'm trying to figure out now whether or not things like this he'll take with him or if I can ship them.

I already figured out the time difference but what about shipping items? Do they get them fairly quick? Or is it weeks and then sitting in Customs?

Can we send food items? Are there other restrictions on things they can't have?  In researching the area, it seems as though they will have most everything they need but I know there are different restrictions on the overseas bases.

I think that should about cover the questions for now.  I've found a few web sites that offer more information so I'm still researching.

  • Kim

Grayce, I will let AntiM answer about the electricity in Japan.  For now, your son is living on a U.S. base, everything will be as it is at home(including currency).  As far as what he can have will depend on how much room he has to keep it.

The navy will ship his items, Anti M will know who to contact.  My son arrived with only what he could carry because he knew that he would be living on the ship at first.

You can ship items to him.  I suggest using the the post office priority boxes.  There is a discount for the large flat rate box.  Your sailor will give you an FPO box for his mail.  The post office will deliver it somewhere in San Diego to the navy.  Priority arrives 2-3 days and you pay U.S. postage. The navy ships it the rest of the way.  You will need to fill out customs papers.  My son received a package in 4days one time, the rest were 2-3 weeks.  27 days was the longest that I heard of.

    This website should help you:

    https://www.usps.com/ship/apo-fpo-guidelines.htm

  • Anti M

If he's on base, the electricity and outlets are the same.  Likewise, if he has a region 1 DVD player, he can use US dvds.  Offbase, the voltage is a bit lower, and 50 h in some areas, but that makes no difference (except for electric clocks).

If he has not checked out of his command in the US yet, he can get a small HouseHold Goods shipment/pack out.  I think he's eligible for 300 pounds or so.  He needs to contact the Personal Property Office ASAP to check that out.  I packed out of my barracks room, this is not for married sailors only.  Everyone thinks it is.  It saves you a ton of time and money.  PPO - personal property office, and do it ASAP!!!!!

Knowing what I do about FPO packages, I would NOT try to send a TV.  Too fragile and too valuable.  He can get one at the NEX.

  • Grayce

Thank you Anit M!  He is in A school in Pensacola at the moment and will be leaving there at the end of the month. He comes home for approx 20 some days before he goes. Not sure of all the details yet. Just found out last week that he'll be heading to Japan for his duty. Not on ship. Is there a PPO office located at the A schools too?

  • Anti M

There is a PPO on every base.  He should be able to find it easily.

  • Grayce

I'm glad cause I have more today :)

First, Blondie, where is the weather so bad?  I'm in NC so ours has been across the board. Yesterday it was almost 68, today 40s and dropping to low teens tonight with possible mix sleet/snow/freezing rain and then gettin colder. It'll keep the bugs down this summer and I love snow, but this ice mess... No thank you, Ma'am. Mother Nature has been wearing us out for the last year with these whiplash weather changes.  HA! "Global Warming" my foot!

Anyway on to my new set of questions. Our Sailor got his orders today.  He graduates and leaves Pensacola A school Jan 31st. He'll be on automatic leave until he reports to Sasebo March 6th. He's planning to leave NC the 25th to give himself enough time.

Is he responsible for getting himself to Japan?  All the flights I looked at yesterday had layovers in Atlanta and overnight layover in CA. He asked "Why do I have to fly all the way across to CA if I'm going to Japan? Why don't they fly the other way?"  That's not my question, that's his. He said, "That's like a 5 hour flight."  Guess he's not considering the time difference which would put him there only two hours after he leaves here (officially anyway).  So, I had him look at the map and tell me what country was to the East of Japan. Then had him look the other direction if he flew across the Atlantic and tell me how many hours he thought that flight would take...I think he gets it now. :D

But our question is, if he's responsible for getting there on his own, he'll have to have a passport just to go. Or will the military get him there and then he's on his own if he needs to come back?  If he has to go on his own, where to start?  Maybe they'll tell him all that before he leaves. Just confusing me.

Isn't there a way that he can "catch a ride" back to the states through the military? Like if they have a plane heading back to the states anyway?... Maybe that's only on TV...or if you're higher ranking...

Think he's decided that he can carry most stuff he'll need. Universal items and clothes.  The rest he's planning to pick up over there. He said "I'll grab a hologram TV for $40.  The stuff he has at school he'll give to someone there already or just coming in the way they were passed to him. Sounds like a good idea.

  • Alicia(12/053 - AO)♥

Grayce, speaking only from my son's experience, the Navy took care of guys flight to Japan and since he was flying on orders he did not require a passport.
  • Alicia(12/053 - AO)♥

    His not guys!
  • jansu831

Grayce - He will go to SATO before he gets out of A school and they will make all of his flight arrangements.  He will tell them where he wants to fly before leaving for Japan (during his leave) and they will make all the flights.  The only thing he will have to pay for is the leg of the flight to NC and then to wherever he flies out of to go to Japan.  (Mine flew out of Seattle.)  And, they will deduct his part of the ticket from his pay.  They are able to get a much better deal.  I think my sailor's ticket from Chicago to Dallas and then to Seattle was $140.00.  And - the Navy will tell him when his flight to Japan is so tell him not to count on the 25th until they tell him the date.

He will not need a passport to travel on military orders.  But, T-Lynn will soon give you the speech about that. LOL!!!  GET ONE ANYWAY!  If he wants to travel at all while he is over there (during liberty or leave) he will need one.

When his orders are to leave Japan, the Navy pays.  If he comes home on leave from Japan - he will have to pay.

My best advice (that I got when my son left) is to not worry so much about these kinds of details.  The Navy will tell him what he needs to know - on Navy time.  As far as when he gets there, the other sailors will tell him anything he needs to know - like about phones and living expenses, etc.  Plus, he will take a class on how to live in Japan as soon as he gets there.  All of these things will fall into place.

Stay with us and ask all your questions - this place was my sanity!

  • jansu831

Maggs - you are having too much fun with that camera.  I wish I had the bug but I'm so glad my DIL lives taking them!  Great pictures.  :)

And just for fun...  (Did I really ever say we only wanted boys???)

  • Mississippi Mom

Ladies, this has been a really tough morning....I found out after I got to work that my son (Sailor's) best friend was killed in a car wreck this morning on his way to work.   I texted my Sailor and asked him to give me a call.  It was really hard to tell my son about Chris and he was so shocked and upset.  More upset because he doesn't think he will be able to come home for services.  It is a 14 hour trip and will be quite costly to fly.  They came home for Christmas and it is an expensive trip, driving or flying.  I told him that we would go to the services and explain to Chris' parents and brother why he couldn't come, but he is still upset.  So hard to console your child when is he is so far away.   And I know that what we are going through is nothing to compared to what Chris' parents are dealing with.  Please say a prayer for this young man's family.  He was the friendlest, nicest guy that you would ever meet.  He came to my office the day after my son left for bootcamp to offer support to me, and when he saw me he just fell in my arms, cyring.  He was just pitiful.  He just cried, and cried, and finally got to where he could talk and he said I came up here to cheer you up and look at me.....  I love that kid so much and have missed him since my son has been in the Navy.  Before the Navy, Chris was at my house all of the time.  I honestly felt like I had 2 sons gone when my son joined the Navy.  I did see Chris from time to time, but of course he wasn't going to be at house without my son.  He would come by when my daughter was home and hang out with her, and check on us.  His parents are some of the best people in the world, and they are very strong in their faith, but I know their world is spinning out of control right now, and their hearts are just broken.  So hard to understand...... please pray for this family and my Sailor as well.

  • momplus2

Mississippi Mom...Hear my prayers. I am praying for you, your family, his family and your son to find the strength to understand and find some peace in this tragedy. Chris has found his place with the Lord. Please try to find strength in the memories of having such a fine young man part of your family's and son's life. Take care....Navy Hugs

  • Kim

Miss, I am so sorry.  I'll be praying for you and them.  Take care.

I am mostly reading here and not posting.  I move in 10 days and I am down with a sinus infection.  It got bad quickly, but I got on medicine today.  Looks like I will be snowed in tomorrow.  They are calling for a foot.  Back to bed for me.

  • Alicia(12/053 - AO)♥

Mississippi i am so sorry to hear of your loss. My sailors two best friends are like my son's so i know the strong connection you had with him. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your son and Chris's family. May he rest in peace.
Jansu...omg, she is so adorable!! Love the blanket!
Mags you are great with the camera! What kind of birds are those? They are so cute! And good luck with the move!
    Kim, get well soon!!!!
  • Grayce

Thank you all for the responses.  So they will take the cost of the flight from FL to NC from his pay for his leave. That makes more sense. But then he will also pay for the trip from NC to whereever in the US his flight to Japan leaves from?

Wow...In looking up stuff yesterday, I think Seattle and CA were the only places that had flights to Japan. The flights from NC to Seattle and/or CA from NC were outrageous. How much could they possibly discount it?

I just don't want him to have to pay too much on this because he's already asked about us driving to FL to pick him up...I think he's worried about the money too.  I had thought they would take care of all that but, what he told us was that they would fly him from FL to Japan and he was going to try to get them to pay from NC to Japan instead so he wouldn't have to stay in FL until he leaves... Does that make any kind of sense?

I told him it would be a good idea to get a passport anyway, just in case but that's just the type I am. Be prepared for anything but don't expect to ever need it.

I'm glad they'll take a class when they get there.  He'll retain more information if it doesn't come from "mom".  You'd think the boy would learn by now that the only reason his dad knows half the stuff he tells him is because I researched it. ;) I guess time and experience will teach him all that stuff just as well.

Time to let go, right?....or probably about 6 months ago when he graduated high school..../sigh I'll get there. Thanks for being patient and for the support! Ya'll are wonderful!

  • navymom3

Grayce when he goes to the travel office they will actually book his flight from Florida. Then he can tell them he wants to fly from NC and he just has to pay the difference. Most are not very much. I think my son had to pay $90 to fly from home. Mine was actually given an 800 number to call to have his flight adjusted. It really was easy to do. We found which flight he needed to be on ahead of time so he could tell them even the flight number he wanted. He also flew out of Seattle, Wa.

  • Grayce

That's very reassuring. That's sort of how I was thinking it would be until I started looking on flights to Japan. Maybe I shouldn't get ahead of myself.

I think the hardest part is that the Navy is now doing all this stuff instead of us.

Kathy - you never know, we just might be.  My sister's name is Kathy ;P

Blondie - uhm...wait...what?  -20/-30 below "normal"... My parents lived in and I was born in Iowa but was 6 months old when we moved to NC and I haven't lived anywhere else. So I'm going to ask a question and you keep in mind that I'm am a true Southerner.  Isn't -30 below where things like your eyeballs freeze and you can't breathe?  I mean, I have to put my sweater on when it's 60°!  Don't ya'll ever have Summer?

We've been having record cold spells here. Today they said it won't be out of the 30s and it's only going colder through the weekend. No snow yet but hoping for at least enough to make good pictures. I am anyway...not sure anyone else really "wants" snow and I know there's no one around here that knows how to drive in it!

Miss - I am so very sorry for your loss and my prayers and thoughts are with you and your Sailor along with his friend's family. It is very tragic and heartwrenching when something happens to someone so young. There's nothing in this world that can make that kind of loss right. And there's nothing that anyone can say or do that helps. All we can do is pray the crushing weight of pain and loss will lesson to a level we can comprehend and that we make it through another day. That is what I pray for you and the family. And that your Sailor knows and feels he is not alone and will forever have his buddy watching over him.

  • jansu831

Miss - I'm so sorry about your son's friend.  We are still in shock over Brian getting killed in that helicopter - I can only imagine how you are feeling.  It's so hard to accept.  Prayers for your family and his.

Maggs - great photo for your book cover!  ahem....

Blondie - I have no words.  You couldn't make this stuff up!  Maybe if you quit your job, they will hire you back for a bazillion dollars and finally appreciate you!

  • Mississippi Mom

A very special THANK YOU to each one of you for your sweet words of encouragement and most of all for your thoughts and PRAYERS!   Please keep Chris' dear family in your prayers tonight and the days ahead.  Visitation will be tonight and the funeral will be tomorrow.   My Sailor finally came to realization that there was just no way for him to make it home ( weather is a big factor).  Chris' family asked him to be a pall bearer, and he called me numerous times last night just so torn about it.  I told him to consider it an honor that he was asked, but that I knew Chris' Mom and Dad would totally understand.  He asked us to please try to go to visitation and the funeral tomorrow and please explain to why he couldn't be there.  I told him we would be there.  I went by the florist today and sent a gift from Sailor and one from us.  He said that he would be sure to send a card and would go see Chris' parents the next time he came home.   I told him that would mean more to them problably than him being here now.   He is hurting, but with time it does get better.   Facebook has just been flooded with all the funny memories had of this awesome young man.   I woke up this morning and thanked the LORD for another day, and then it just me, it is another day without Chris.  This is just so heartbreaking, and my mind cannot even comprehend what Chris' parents are going through......

  • Mississippi Mom

My son (the one with the glasses on his head and the bib) and Chris.

  • barbara10/08

Jansu & Missmom, so sorry to hear of the loss of two such fine young men.....keeping you and your families and their families in my prayers.  So sad for all.

Blondie,  don't know how you do it.  Any talk about getting you some help?  Now, hasn't this doctor done stupid before?  But, really, only known him a month, that is extra stupid.

Maggs, run, hide!  before it's too late!  angel looks really angry this time!
Those pictures are fantastic!  What kind of camera did you say you got?  I love taking photos-one day I'm going to be able to afford a good camera.

Happy for all having visits with their sailors:)))  Enjoy the hugs and congrats cbc mom on sailors EAWS-that is awesome.

Alicia-sounds like you are doing Great in math!

Belated Happy Birthday Anti-M:) and cbc mom (great pic!)

Badma, must be that time of year when it's easy to upset people-and no you are not a rag!  Congrats on being a great-aunt:)

Kim, yeah! I think...new house? or just a pit stop on the way to a new house?
Hope dil gets that trip back on track, must've been pretty disappointing.
Hope your sinus infection gets better soon.
Battling a cold here and hoping it doesn't get much worse.  Just discovered a canker sore and I don't get those too often....swollen glands, congestion...yuck.

Janai, helps when they are happy, glad she is doing well in Sasebo.

Jansu, she is just too cute!

  • Kim

Mississippi mom, my heart reaches out to your sailor.  The funeral is for the loved ones left behind.  It is part of the grieving process.  Your sailor is missing it.  The navy is prepared to handle this situation with their sailors.  Your son needs to reach out were he is.  They will help him.  AntiM, any ideas were he should go?

    Maggs, I love the picture.

Blondie, well....she didn't bring the kids in for you to look after while working.  LOL.  I have a new word for you.....NO!  Repeat after me, no, no, no, no and HELL NO!  We always pile work on the busiest person because they are the ones who know how to get the work done.  Maybe she could add a large addition to the office and move her whole family in.  That way you can look after her parents, kids, boyfriend and dog while you work.  Just teasing you.

  • Kim

jillg4, mail it to him.  He can file his taxes.  All bases have help if he has questions.

  • MaggieMay

MissMom & Jansu - My heart has been so heaving thinking of the families and all of you.  I've been praying for all of you.  Please tell your sons to keep in touch with their friends family, not just now but in the future too.  It will be a very long time before the parents will be able to smile again as they are going to have to learn to live life again.  The friendship shared among the boys will be forever cherished and having contact with your sons will bring happiness & peace to these parents.  My oldest son's best friend has stayed very close to us and he has been a huge influence on my other two sons.  He stepped in to be their big brother and this I am so grateful for.  Hugs to you all.

Blondie - Wow all I can offer is a HUG hope you can feel it!  Hope spring comes quickly for you bringing nice weather and a new boss!!!

Grayce - hang in there girl.  The Navy really does take care of things...all those travel arrangements are going to work out just fine and you'll look back and say why did I ever worry!  But worrying is what we moms do best.

Love all the pictures & the funnies too!

  • Kim

I missed a whole page of posts.

    Just teasing you Blondie.

My son doesn't pay local or Pennsylvania tax.  That is why he remained a resident of PA when he was in California and he moved to New York instead of closer home.  If he became a recruiter here, he would have to pay taxes.

TLynn, it is temporary until we find what we want.  We bought instead of renting because it was a corporate move and we got it really low.  (McDonalds)  Cheaper than renting.  It is one of those 3 level townhomes, not my retirement dream.  I want one floor.  They are calling for snow every day and we move next Friday.  Yikes!

I am on day 3 of antibiotics.  I am starting to feel better.  A lot more energy.  The headaches are still there, but milder.  I am much better off than those I see with the flu.  It seems really bad this year.

  • Grayce

    Okay ya'll....what is SATO?

My Sailor is under the impression that he has to make all his travel arrangements to get to his duty station.  He said he sent his date within the time limit and they pay for it but he's responsible for making all the arrangements.  He said he can't make flight arrangements until the 31st when he leaves A school and then his report date is 3rd March so he's planning to fly out the 25th...once he gets a flight...

Is there something we're both missing or have they just not told him how all this works yet?

  • Kim

Grayce, DTS (defense travel system) is the system that they use.  It has become more advanced over the years.  My sailor had to have someone book it for him when he went over, they picked horrible flights and seats.  They might do some or all of it themselves now.  I had to look it up, but I think SATO is the software that they use to arrange their flights.  He will figure it out.  I think he will not be released from this command until all arrangements have been made and approved.  There will be someone to help him on the base.  He will probably like being able to do it himself, it gives more them more control, and it is a lot easier if he needs to change something.  If you google DTS and SATO, you will probably find a training guide, if that helps.  I can understand it, but I work with this stuff.

Sorry ya'll, I got a little anxous. His dad's trying to make plans for a weekend trip while he's here and I told him the 25th wasn't confirmed.  But he'd told us he had to make all the arrangements.

Just got another text and he said he has to call a number they gave him and tell them when he is supposed to report in and where he wants the flight from and they'll make it happen. Basically, what I had said to start with that they will tell him when his flight is and to wait until he gets here to firm up our plans. So, looking at the situation from a "male perspective", yes, he is responsible for making the arrangements. /rollseyes

Thanks for the notes Kim, hope you're feeling better.

Funny Grayce.  My sailor moved last fall.  He had to put his stuff in storage because he had leave, A school and he wouldn't know his destination until the end of A school (shore duty, navy recruiter).  It was 2 months.  When he arranged for his stuff to go in storage a person handled it.  When he had his new address and needed it shipped, it was a new program and he had to figure it out himself.  Unfortunately, he was not on a base.  He bought a blow up bed, that they slept on for almost a month.

Good luck with your plans and have a great time when he is home.  There aren't many guarantees in the navy, but I will guarantee that your visit with him will go by too fast.

Hi Sally, I'm working on getting an answer for you regarding a church in Sasebo.  I have a feeling there is a chapel or something of the sort on base, I have sent my daughter a message and will let you know as soon as I hear.  It may be a couple days.

    3. congrats Kim on the move almost being done. But really - a sinus infection. Here I have been worried about you moving all your items with your foot still healing and now sinus pain every time you move. Sending Reiki . I still see you in your new place - the ONE you want. It is coming.

    3. BLONDIE !!!!! I want to say - your life is normal BUT after reading about that doc you work for. Who said: "you can't make this up ..." is so right. At first I thought I was reading an old radio show soap opera - but then remember we don't have those anymore. Sorry Blondie - but that lady is nuts. Hang in there as best as you can. I can't find the pic of teh Jack Danial water cooler - but your place REALLY needs one!

Heads Up Ohio.  Our weather band just went off and it is saying we have a Winter Blizzard warning headed out way. I am talking minutes. 60  mph hour winds - white outs - extreme windchillls of -45 to -50 - and will pass through here ( Rockford, IL ) and just coming your way.

    4. Oh , my hubby did the hunt for the recycling tubs.  Almost in the next county. And , honestly not sure if we got ours or if we have teh neighbors - but all I cans ay we have the 2 we need back.  By the way - those tubs were filled with recycling - so that stuff IS most likely now in the next state !

    5. Hi New Mom :). Yes PLEASE have your son get his passport - just like Kathy and Jansu said. And you stated he is going to Sasebo so please - PRETTY PLEASE et him long johns! at least 3 pairs!  You might not need them in SC where you are - but he will need them there! Our sailor called begging for his - he forgot to pack them. And he was freezing his ..-well, he was very cold.

     6. Oh kiss those baby's toes for me Jansu !!!!! She is so cute.

    7. Kathy , so very happy to hear you are nice and warm. Yes, I am gritting my teeth - because its cold here!  lol - so glad you are warm. How is your job going?

    11. Happy Belated Birthday Anti M.  I'll chime in too, sl glad you had a wonderful day and your Larry was there to celebrate.

    12. I think Barb was on - Hi. Can't remembered what you shared. Need chocolate.

    13. Alecia - I think you were on too.   HI - more gossip and how is math class going?

    14. Ok have not heard from Proud Mom - Miss Laura - Pam - and few other new moms.  Hey check in - with this crazy weather we need to know you are ok and I just want more gossip.

My hubby just came in and told me is going out with the snow blower again. third time today. WE are to have that storm  blow through and for the next 2 days windchills of -30 to -50.  Schools are closing all around us here - except our school system.  They wll delay as long they can. There is some stupid Grant they want and I guess there is a possibility that we can loose it IF  we have had too many snow days. We have a warning that frost bite WILL happen in minutes and at some of the bus stops - the kids wait for 20 minutes . Hope your school systems are better than here.

need to get along - have to find Shark - she went on walk about and just not sure where is hiding.   hugs all
