Hi ladies!  I've been away for a little while but that's because I was enjoying having my sailor home!  Even though he calls me often and he sounds fine having him home and seeing how good he looks and seeing that smile on his face made my heart sing.  We had a great visit with him and it was wonderful having my boys together again.  He had to go back to Japan last week and even though he said it would have been nice to stay longer he was looking forward to going snowboarding again (that's his new hobby over there) and sure enough he's already got a trip planned for this weekend!  As soon as sailor had to head back my youngest was getting ready for District Tournament in wrestling and I'm proud to say he placed 3rd so now we're getting ready to head to the University of Missouri for State Championship Tournament.  3 days of intense wrestling....hope I'm up for it...I was a nervous wreck at districts!  Luckily youngen is not nervous he's just super excited and oh what an experience this will be for him!  I'm so proud of my boys...they both are doing so well

I know I've missed a lot on here but welcome to all the new moms and hugs to everyone.  Positive vibes and prayers going out for all!

Take care and hope you all have a great day!

  • Mississippi Mom

Kim, OUCH!!!  Bless your heart, I know that has to be painful, but hey at least you have a "classy" boot.  I have a collection of those things, and I hope I don't need any one of them again.   I hope this heals really quick for you after what you have gone through already.   FL sounds fun, hopefully you will get special treatment going through security.

I so hate to post our weather....although it sounds nice, we are under a severe weather threat.  We have been having some really nice days.  Sunday it was 60 here and the sun was beautiful.  Hubby and I both cleaned up our vehicles.  I took a walk around the neighborhood, even ran about 1/2 mile.  My feet felt ok, but my knees were really sore on Monday.  Hopefully I can ease back into it.   It was really pretty yesterday got up to 65, but we have some rain and bad weather moving in.  We are in the severe weather threat until Friday morning.  It suppose to be in the 70's tomorrow.

Hubby is in Texas this week (work), will be home late tomorrow night.  I talked to my Sailor for a while yesterday, he worries when his Dad is gone and I am by myself.   I miss my hubby, but I sometimes like being by myself.  I can eat whatever and not have to cook, watch what I want on TV or not even turn it on.

We went to visit our daughter Sat., had a really nice time with her.  She has called at night to check on me.   Makes a Mom's heart smile to know that her kiddos worry about us!

Not much going on with us.  I did go back to Yoga last night and really enjoyed it, although I have some places hurting today that I didn't realize I had.  Been quite a while since I have been to Yoga.  About the time that my foot got better for me to go back, our Yoga Instructor got really sick and has been out for about 6 months.  We were all in the same boat last night, really stiff!  But we managed to have a few laughs.  Our Yoga class is not a typcial one at all.  We laugh more than anything.

Badma, only 2 weeks until the big day!!!   My time has flown by, probably too fast for you!  Hoping all your wedding plans come together and please don't stress.  My philsophy is don't tell anyone what you are planning and then you are the only who knows if the come together or not!  I am sure it will all be perfect and beautiful!  Can't wait to the see the pictures.

Maggs, my hubby is like yours, once he gets hooked on a show he will sit for hours and watch them.  He watched so much TV when I had foot surgery.  I would sleep and had the TV.   He even watches the Hallmark Channel.  We laughed at during Christmas, my daughter would turn th TV to a Christmas movie and that was it for him.  He would sit there till it went off.  LOL!

Joshmom, YEAH for getting to spend time with your Sailor and YEAH  for your son's 3rd place and moving on to District!!!!  I hope he does well and that you are not too nervous to enjoy!   My Sailor loved snowboarding in Japan, and he and his wife now go to North Carolina to ski and snowboard.  They love it.

Hope you all are having a great day!

  • BADma

Hey mamas! Just a fly by....the kids got their marriage license yesterday. Daughter and I visited with the event coordinator today. I do believe that my stress level dropped TENFOLD! When we got back to my house, the ties that I had ordered ,had arrived. My daughter put together her bouquet and the corsages. I think that I just might sleep well tonight.

OH....and all but 5 guests have RSVP~ed that they will be there!

  • Kim

Joshmom, congrats to your son.  I miss those days.  Glad you had a good visit with sailor.

MississippiMom, I think it is funny that we make you feel guilty about posting your weather.

I stayed up late to watch the figure skating.  I always enjoy the olympics.  Did you know that curling originated in Scotland?  Just like golf and Maggs.

  • Anti M

When we had the Olympics here in Utah in 2002, the curling venue was the Ice Sheet here in Ogden.  We were able to get tickets and watch it live!  So much fun, partly because the crowd had terrific energy.  Very close to the house, I could walk it on a good day, or take the bus.  There is still an amateur curling group if I cared to learn.  That would require standing up on skates, so not happening.

  • Kim

I belonged to the Toronto cricket, skating and curling club.  (skater)  They also had lawn bowling.  You do not wear skates for curling.  I watched them all the time, they slide and do not fall.  It is poplular with seniors.  My sisters FIL was involved until he died around 80.  You should check it out.  I would if there was one close and I probably wouldn't fall. LOL.  It's a not a too strenuous activity and fun.

  • Kim

Curling in the 1800's.  It has been traced back to the 1500's

  • Kim

  • barbara10/08

    Oh, and welcome new moms:)

  • barbara10/08

Well, apparently we have curling in Palmyra, NY which is not close enough for me to participate in, but note the guy in the kilt!   I'd bet he's the one started this group:)

  • Kim

Blondie, not only does that joke remind me of you, but I picture you driving the zamboni too.  LOL

  • T-Lynn

    HI

I cannot understand the game. I don't understand why the sweeping. Guess I better look it up and read.  but i do like the rock.

Congrats on being with your sons  Joshmom :)

Kim - an air pump? Too the knee ? And then off to Florida.

Sounds like things are getting back to normal for you :). ( but take it easy - please)

Did I read right - Blondie got some normal hours of work and got to go home ? Hurray - Hurray !!!  Keep us posted about Sarah please.

OH Barb !!!!! Love that Valentine picture !!!!!!  I just want to reach out and hung them.

BADma - I am so glad to read - that your stress levels are down and how everything is coming together.  hugs Me too me too- picture of this wedding.

Maggs - 10 hours of watching.  You must have the best sofa to sit on. My rump would be asleep.

Weather here - one word - ick!

Today was alot of melting. A LOT !!!!! so much melting at one sight I go to for scouts that the side walk was not just covered it was the Mississippi River !

Guess who forgot to wear boots too?  And the water did not appear to be deep - so over the tops of my shoes and wet feet. BUT when we let teh scouts leave to go home - we were yelling that NO way do they walk through the water. And yes - it did not good. Those boys were drawn to walk through it like moths to a light.

Well, need to get along . Wish all sweet dreams  hugs

  • DramaSoul

Maggs....good one about the curling iron.  I loved the comments from your family written in the Scottish pronunciation.  I could just hear it in my head!

Kim...I was in and out of a walking boot for over a year due to a couple of injuries.  The first one was a torn plantar plate from Yoga (going from crescent lunge to downward facing dog).  Who knew Yoga could be so dangerous?  After 5 months in a boot with the toes taped a certain way, it started to heal. After the boot came off, I was walking down the stairs in the house and missed the bottom step when Tupac (the 14 lb black cat that I have been caring for from my son's ex-gf for the last 19 months) darted under foot so to avoid him I stepped down on the floor, rolling the ankle on the same foot as the injured plantar plate....torn ligaments in the ankle and another 5 months in a boot (taking it off to do strengthening exercises).  I am currently boot free.  I did like that air-pump thing though.  All this happened just before my son graduated FMTB at CP in September 2012.  I went to his graduation in a walking boot!  Walked all over downtown San Diego too!  I know I am only one misstep away from being in the boot again!!!  Hope you heal quickly.

I have been reading posts but not posting....rehearsals for the play I am in have taken over since we open in a week.  ARGH!! Or, in the words of my character, Bubbie, "OY GEVAULT!!!"

Snow is melted here....just lots of rain.  It's okay...it's Oregon.  Okay...back to work.  Hope you are all staying warm, healthy and healing.  :-)

  • blm

Hi all. Haven't posted in a while but been reading. I actually got a week off of work-had to sprain my ankle by falling on the ice to do it, but here I am with time to post! My sailor was in San Diego for some training (third from the left)but is back in Japan now (or around there somewhere?)

Been keeping myself occupied looking for mother of bride dresses and collecting cookie recipes for the traditional Pittsburgh wedding cookie table.

Our weather warmed up over the weekend-flooding in area but not affecting us directly-another cold front coming though.

My mom sold her house and will be moving to an apartment-happy for her and my ankle should be good to help with the move in April.

  • Mississippi Mom

blm…..OUCH!!!!  Bless your heart!  I sure hope your ankle heals quickly.  I am happy for you that you are off from work, but not the circumstances.   Happy you are getting some of your tasks done.  Good luck with shopping for the Mother of The Bride dress!  Also with your cookie recipes….sounds YUMMY!   Praying for a speedy recovery for you.

I had a very good weekend….. the weather has been beautiful here.  We are getting rain, possibly snow tomorrow night and the high Wednesday will 38, but it has been in the 60’s & 70’s this weekend and I have loved every minute of it.  So ready for Spring, as I know all of you are!  I got a nice long massage on Saturday morning (have had the Gift Certificate for 4 years!).  Celebrated  my aunt (My Mom’s sister) and uncle’s 50th Wedding Anniversary on Sat. afternoon.  Enjoyed seeing so many family members and friends that I don’t get to see very often.   Then Sat. night went to our State Park and visited with my daughter.  She was there helping with a Discipleship Now weekend.  She told me she was planning on come home Sunday after it was over.  We got home from church and she was home!   We had a really nice visit with her. We spent a lot of the time outside since it was so pretty.  She and I sat up late last night just getting caught up.   Love and cherish those moments!   She got up early this morning and headed back to Starkville to school.   I also got to talk to my Sailor yesterday.  He and his wife are both doing good.  They too have had a pretty weekend and did some golfing.

Hope everyone is doing well.  Hopefully soon Spring will arrive for all of us.  Thinking and praying for all the folks who are and will be dealing with those floods.

  • MyKidIsInNavy

So I have been very MIA very busy caring for my Son following his massive stroke in 11/2013...then he had a mini stroke following it the beginning of this Feb, then he had surgery on Valentines Day for blockage in his penis being unable to urinate.  So my Sailor Son, who is finishing C school right now in SD and is headed for Sasebo just found out his duty ship is being decommissioned and now he still has no answers on what this all means for him now.  So much chaos and confusion it is hard for me to keep it all straight.  I have been trying to get out of the house when I can and I am volunteering with the USO and sending all the shippers off to boot at the airport.  It gives me a chance to break from care giving and help out our military.  Hope to hear news of what the ship decom means for my Sailor, and continue to pray for recovery for my other Son.  Congrats on the puppy and babies, and please be careful with the ice and the injuries being caused from this horrible winter.  If anyone else has Sailors on the Denver, feel free to let me know..have a great night everyone

  • T-Lynn

  • Kim

February 23, 2015.....I hope we are all here to celebrate the big 6-0 for TLynn. I promise to buy a lottery ticket every week so that we can all go to Hawaii to celebrate.

BLM, I hope you are not competing with me.  LOL.  Take care.

I am heading to Florida this Saturday.  Visiting dad in Delray Beach, travelling to Orlando for a few days.  I am supposed to do the Disney back stage tour March 7th.  It is a Christmas present to my husband.  I hope I do have to cancel.

  • blm

Blondie-what a beautiful family. stay warm

Kim-you can keep the foot ailment title! Have a good trip

Maggs-hope he's right handed! My daughter broke her thumb a few months into her time in Japan-got her off of cranking for a little while.

    Mississippi mom-great weekend!

MyKid-How is your son doing-hope for a full recovery, but sounds like he will have some big challenges-you both will. My daughter's ship went through a hull swap this summer. went from an old ship to a slightly less old ship-but was an interesting experience. Thank you for your time with USO-admirable with all you have on your plate.

  • Kim

Blondie, cancel?  No never.  Let me know which works better.  My wish is to win the lottery and spend every week visiting everyone on this site.  LOL.  Imagine me winning the lottery and planning a birthday party for TLynn.  Dreaming .....

BLM, ha, I have no problem with you taking over.  I don't remember.  Was your son on the Essex.  My son left before the hull swap, but he was in San Diego to greet his ship when it came home.  Kind of cool for him.

Blondie, your sailor is getting prettier every post.

  • blm

Kim-its my daughter that's my sailor. She is on the Ashland. The hull swap was with the Tortuga.
  • Alicia(12/053 - AO)♥

Doing a quick check in here, its been a few weeks. Finished my math class with a 99.62%!! BIG sigh of relief! Love seeing all your pics...babies, sailors, puppies, birds, snow! I hope everyone is hanging in there and doing well.  I enjoyed the company of a few sailor moms for lunch this past Sunday! Had a wonderful time, two other Japan moms, a San Diego mom and a South Carolina mom. As we were leaving another San Diego mom stopped to talk to us :) Hope to do it again soon.

Sorry this is so short, not too much excitement going on here, unless you think homework is exciting! Oh, I am applying for a new position at work, will be a promotion for me if I get it. I had to write a resume, haven't done that in 12 years! Things have definitely changed since then!!

Love n hugs to you ALL :)

  • Mississippi Mom

Blondie, that picture of Conner is too cute!  It is amazing how much a haircut can change their looks, but even though he may look a little older, he is still so stinking cute!!!!

I know you are so ready for Spring!  I really feel for all of you that have had such a really tough winter.   Hang in there girl, and don't work too hard today!!!!

  • T-Lynn

    HI

Congrats !!! Alicia  Honors all the way.

Blondie - thanks for update on Sarah. And Conor looks grown up. And no - I do not like this format. I had to look twice to find where to make the comments.

Maggs - great picture. would love to see that for real.

    I think I forgot someone - sorry

I am getting ready to get out the door. but I miss everyone here so much.

Have a good day  talk later  hugs

  • Shelly

Woo Hoo, yippee! Alicia I knew you would do well on that exam! Way to go girl! Or should I say Miss Smarty pants!
I'm with Blondie & Maggs. Not sure if I like this new look. My eyes are already tired. The print is way too small.
  • BADma

WHOA....I haven't check here for a couple of days. I do NOT like this new set up!!! Who do we gripe to?

One week from  tonight, my daughter will be married and I can breathe again!

    Congrats Alicia!

  • blm

Badma - how exciting on ed more week. Hope all your plans fall graciously in place
  • barbara10/08

Hi Ladies-good bye February, helloo March.  It's coming in like a lion so hopefully, will be like a lamb at the other end!

Hate the new look.  What's the point of moving to the left what was on the right?? It's still the same stuff. Just people needing busy work or too much time on their hands if you ask me.  Never hear of anyone actually liking the changes.
Hold down the Ctrl button & tap the plus sign-your print will get bigger, but you guys prob already know that.

Kim, I will help you....not with the foot!, with the lottery tickets ha ha.  The store at the end of my street just sold a 10 million scratch off winner.  Unfortunately, it was not me. But now I know the lucky location, right?
    Enjoy Florida!

Maggs, love the pic of the fawn, so sweet.  How long for the fingers to heal?

T-Lynn,  Happy Birthday!!  Sounds like a great weekend:)

Alicia, 99.62! wow! congrats and good luck with the job promotion.  Sounds like a great lunch:)

Missmom- your visit with daughter sounds very special-glad she was able to stop in:)  Congrats to your aunt & uncle!

Mykid- hugs to you and glad you are getting out for a bit to destress.  Con't prayers for your son to heal completely.

Blondie, awww, cute lil puppy:)  Great pics of your daughter.  Look at that big boy Connor-adorable and so happy to be with gramma!

Blm, good luck w mother of the bride dresses.  Love the pic of daughter.....but that guy on the left-that is one tall sailor!

What is on my brain:What is on our waterfront:

  • DramaSoul

I am adding my 2 cents plain....DO NOT LIKE the new look! Not easy to navigate!!!!

Last night the play I am doing opened to a wonderful audience and it looks like it will be a successful run! It's "Crossing Delancey" and I play an 85 year old Jewish grandmother.  Since I am 64, it's a little stretch. I am attaching a some pics. One is of me at my son's PIR 2 years ago tomorrow.  The other is me as Bubbie. I really looked like my mom. Attached is a side by side pic of my mom (who died 3 1/2 years ago) and me as Bubbie.

I came home from the dress rehearsal Thursday night to find my water heater and died and leaked water in the garage.  I rent so it meant just calling the manager and the new water heater was placed yesterday.  Nothing like the simple pleasure of a hot shower!

Take care and stay warm! The weather has turned decidedly chilly in the NW.  Snow/rain showers.  I am sure those of you with real snow and below freezing temps wouldn't mind our snow/showers but I was out in it today, in costume, at a promotional thingy and it was cooooold.

    O

  • DramaSoul

Oops...here's the one of Mom and Me.

  • T-Lynn

I am chiming in - ---- don't like this format at all!

Hey - Kim . find a comp0uter and send us a pic of you in Disney World.

Barb - go get that WINNING ticket !!!!

Yippe - wedding stress will be gone and we all gt to see wedding pictures. BADma , it will be beautiful. Enjoy the day and share hugs with your daughter from us.

Oh DramaSoul !!!!!! What a fun picture of you performing. I was just looking at it and thinking how fun if us Navy Moms would be in the audience for you. And the joy of watching you. You do look like your mom :).

hey- got some gossip. My sailor was able to get into the needed class and if things go right - he will get to visit home on the weekend !!! The class is just about 4 hours way from us and now just have to wait to see if the Navy will say - ok - you can have a weekend home visit.  Let you know if I am hugging my sailor.

And then two more fun things happened.

The other day my dil and I were at the kitchen table and she said "quick - look at teh feeder" there we saw YELLOW finches !!!! Those sweet birds had to migrate up here. They are Spring color - so spring is so very near.

then last Wednesday - as I was helping my boss get some items in for teh pinewood derby race - something told me to look up. There above us was soaring a Bald Eagle! I started yelling at my boss to look up. Actually I yelled;" Bald Eagle at 2 o'clock! " He looked up in time to see that majestic bird.

And this makes it twice I have had this Bald Eagle soar over me. Yes - I believe something wonderful/ great is going to happen.

Need to get along - early morning for me. Have to go to the club with my hubby. He will shoot - I will bead a patch and then when it is time for the meeting - I'll take minutes.

    So sweet dreams all hugs

  • DramaSoul

T-Lynn...we had another fabulous audience tonight but it would be even BETTER with NAVY MOMS!!!!

Wow, bald eagle sightings! I was outside of Seattle at Lake Washington one day about 14 years ago and saw an eagles nest with eaglets in it (binoculars were most handy).  Just breath-taking!  So with the finch sightings, does that mean Spring is not far behind??? Whoohoo!

  • Louisville Mom

Tell N4M to change it's format back! I hate this. I don't post often but I do read comments. This format makes that harder.

  • T-Lynn

    HI Louisville Mom.

Glad you read, but love  for you to share some gossip :).

And I so agree - this layout is not good.

Never seen a nest with Eaglets - except on video cam. And yes, seeing those sweet YELLOW birds dos mean Spring is near.  The ones that did not migrate are still their darkish green color. But the ones that migrate south - never change colors. They stay that brillant Sun Yellow. So seeing them - Yippe - Spring is coming soon.

Wish all a great evening. any watching the Oscars tonight. I just remembered its on. Hugs all

  • T-Lynn

    I h ave to ask before I go -

What does it mean in the picture of that sailor holding that number 52000?

And is the pic of the sailor - is it any Pan's Mom sailor here ?

  • Grayce

Our sailor leaves tomorrow for Sasebo. Ya'll were right...time went by way to fast.
I'll be back on later...once he's gone and I get back in a functioning frame of mind.
  • Anti M

I had to enlarge the page to make the comments larger/darker.  This format is killing my eyes.

Busy here, plus family drama on my mind.  Hate that.

  • Anti M

Blondie, I am using google chrome, so I know how to do it in that, I just go to my settings in the top corner and choose how much I want it to go up (+150%).  I also have an icon to make it bigger in my toolbar.  I don't know what browser you are using, but most of them have an enlarge feature.  No, you can't change the background in this section.  Argh.

If you are on IE, I can bring mine up and have a look at how to do it.

  • blm

Maggs-so true-I am soooo ready for real spring weather!

Blondie-prayers for your daughters safety and success

  • Anti M

A bit warmer here, although overcast.  I took down the bedroom curtains to wash them, but I can't quite get a vacuum under the head of the bed... have to wait for hubby to come home to do that.

  • MyKidIsInNavy

Oh Lordy, I HATE this new format.  Thank you to all for your continued thoughts and prayers as I care for my 29 yr old Son.  My Sailor is flying to Japan in less than a month now, just finishing C school in SD.  He came home to see his older brother following his massive stroke in December, so he doubts he will come home to say good bye before flying from CA to Sasebo.  I am doing my best to accept that, and just hard in many ways.  I am proud of myself that I have 92 hours in with the USO volunteering in less than 2 months, it is my saving grace and a chance to continue paying it forward.  I get to usually send all the new recruits off on their planes out of Milwaukee to their bootcamps.  It is awesome to have walked in the shoes of the being a new Mom to now being there for the families as they say their goodbyes.  I have had some very interesting events with my role, including a female slated to go into a branch(not Navy) but locked herself in the stall at the airport and was crying bad.  I got down and crawled under the stall on my hands and knees and reminded her of how proud we all are and she will be too once she puts on that uniform.  It was a very humbling experience and these are times I know it is awesome I am able to get out of the house and be a positive for others.  If you all have USO centers close to you, check them out if you want some of thee most heartwarming feelings knowing you are supporting all those fighting for our freedoms.  My oldest Son continues to struggle with the effects of his stroke, and Feb was filled with yet another stroke and surgery on Valentines day even.  I am glad to see Feb go and welcome March and all the new challenges ahead.  I have decided to do all I can to remain hopeful and positive cause if I don't, I will hide in a corner and cry.   So GLAD to see so many doing so well and the pictures you all post.  I may not get on here much, but when I do, it is so wonderful to just catch up and read.  Thank you all again

  • Kim

Just checking in.  Someone posted below, control+ will enlarge the print on all of the browsers.  Blondie press and hold the key called "CTRL" or CONTROL, then press the + or -.  It will work in several applications too.

I also hate this new format.  It took me a while to find the comment wall, but I read all the ads.  Hmmmm.

MyKid, thanks for the update.  Tell you son to find the free phones at the USO on base in Sasebo.  You will want that phone call.

TLynn, Hope you get to see your sailor.

It's sunny and warm in Florida.  I don't want to go home.  I talked to my sailor the other night.  I forgot to tell him we were going away.  Apparentlly, I have to check in.

  • Mississippi Mom

Kim, my eyes thank you!!!!! It worked and now I can see! Enjoy that beautiful weather.  Hubby asked me the other night if I was ready to go to the beach?  Well Yeah was my response.   Don't know if we are going to make it to FL or not this year, too many things going on.  Funny that you should check in with your Sailor.  My kids are the same.  If they call the house and we don't answer, our cell phone start ringing immediately wanting to know where we are at.

MyKid, you are awesome to volunteer and help those families and service members out, especially when your plate is so full.  Praying for your sons, and  for extra blessings for you. THANK YOU for all you are doing to brighten other people's days!

Did any of you see on the news where those runners in Texas ran out of their way to thank that Veteran (90 year old +/-) who was standing in his yard in his uniform to lend support to them?   I was just bawling watching all of them run to him and offer a handshake to say thank you!     Very heartwarming and gives me hope that there is kindness and people with very big hearts still in this world where there is so much negative reporting.

Blondie, thankful you got that text.  Sometimes the smallest text can bring so much relief.

Gotta run, got a new computer and I HATE new computers!  Trying to get everything loaded and running right is a pain.

  • Huskies

Hi everyone. I am new to this group. My son will be going to Japan after A school in San Antonio. Right now I am pretty much in shock. Japan is SO far away. I just don't know anything about this at all! Either does he at this point!
  • blm

Huskies-it will be an adventure for your son and for you-there are lots of other moms here to help you.

Blondie-glad you heard from your daughter.

Today was my first day back at work after spraining my ankle-still limping but not as sore, but was so glad to get up and put it up.

  • T-Lynn

Drama Queen, love the pics.  The play looks like a lot of fun. Sure do look like your mom:)  And you have a handsome sailor too!

T-Lynn,  so exciting to see an actual Eagle in the wild:)  Saw one last fall for the first time & it is truly a majestic sight.
    And finches! Yeah!

Blondie, wow, you acutally missed a couple storms?! lol.

MyKid, will light a candle for both your sons & do stay positive.  Those vibes do make a difference bringing positive back to you.

Missmom, hope you make it to Fla.  Don't watch the news much but would love to see that story.  Heartwarming for sure.

AntiM, the sun is coming out more often now & I am getting the urge to clean too......now just have to find the time.

Welcome Huskies- I think we all are a little bit in shock when Japan becomes a reality instead of a possibility.  Do you know yet what part of Japan?  What is his rate?
It will be an adventure and a roller coaster of ups & downs.....this is the right place to be:) Great group of ladies and someone will be able to answer just about any questions that come to mind-so check in often:) !

Hey, I went to the bottom of this page and clicked on report an issue.  Complained about the new format and actually got an e-mail back!  Said thanks for the imput and they were currently reviewing to see where they could make tweaks and adjustments to the site.....so if anyone wants to put in their two cents now's the time:)

Blondie love the picture, too funny!!!! I shiver every time you give us a weather update.  Honestly I can't complain one bit about my weather.   You will find this simply hilarious.  We had a threat of sleet, some ice, and snow on Sunday night.  Monday our schools were closed, and I too,  got a snow day.  There was nothing on my road or driveway, just a little ice on my door step.   However, my boss lives on a boat, and they got more ice than I did so he decided it was too dangerous for him to try to get off of the boat and cross the marina ramps, so he called and said we were closed.  I have been battling allergies, so I didn't do much at all, just some laundry and piddling. Hubby came home from work and could not believe that I didn't work due to the weather.  He said the roads were clear.  Told my Sailor about this who is in VA. and he said ONLY IN THE SOUTH!

Barbara, thanks!  Would love to go, but will just have to wait and see.  Send me some of that urge to clean!!! My Mom wanted to know why my allergies are so bad this early. She said nothing is blooming.  I told her it might be the dust in my house!!!  Need to really clean, like moving furniture clean.

T-Lynn, remember those Pinewood Derby days well.  Funny story, we were at a Pinewood Derby at District, and it just kept going on and on.  Finally we were down to the last few racers, and my hubby kept saying hopefully we'll loose this round.  Another Dad from our troop would say, "no we are loosing this round".  I was just cracking up that these two Dads were ready to loose.  We had been there since 8:00 that morning and had not had any lunch, and it was like 3:00 in the afternoon.  Even the kids were wanting to be eliminated so we could go eat.  My son won and we advanced.  The next race went much better.

Welcome Huskies!  Hang in there girl.  It will get better when you get the phone calls and he is excited about everything he is getting to see and do.   Come here often, we have all been there, and will offer our support and advise!
