DramaSoul-my son didn't want to put it on while he was at home but at the time we hadn't seen him in the blues.

    HI

Shelly what a picture !!! He looks like he did something, but no one can prove he did it.  Love it.  Mine too- he will not wear his uniform unless he has too. Only one time did he wear it out for us. And we all remember "The Box". Good for you to be there to help a fellow Navy Mom. How many cried when you got "the Box"? I opened it at the door and sat there crying.

Joshmom - what a wonderful surprised you had for your sister.  Sorry she missed out on being treated wonderful But me too, have relatives like that. An thank you for letting us know they arrived safe and sound.

OMG !!!!! Kathy in Cininatti . Darn -darn - DARN !! It had to be the last weekend of April. I know it would have been a drive for me - but what a chance to hug you. Oh - please let there be at least one of us to get there and see you.

I am with 5000 scouts in Galena, Illinois that weekend. Honest, there will be that many or more. It is a major event called the Grant Pilgrimage and there will be Scouts from all over teh US. I have to go and lead a group of my scouts. BUT if anything changes, promise to let you know.

    Hit the wrong key!

    I was not done.

When I got on the site, the first thing i saw was Blondie's message of being good....?  All I saw was her name and being good. Sorry - Blondie luv ya - but my brain just would not agree . You and being good on purpose - no.

hey, hubby was on the computer. He was just searching around. And found this photo/article for a UIK news person. It was about an US Navy Riverine unit. The unit was practicing and we asked to be interview. Looking at our sailors, they don't look like they really wanted to be interviewed. They were out there to practice "what if"  My hubby called to me - rather frantic. He pointed to the sailor far right and asked me - if that was our sailor. He was able to enlarge the pic and OMG -IT WAS OUR SAILOR!!!! First time we saw him in serious mode and carrying live weapons. I once told my sailor that I would like to see what he looked like - in duty mode. My sailor told me - "No mom you would lot my my look". I understand now what he means. His body stand and look is all business. I was both proud and scared at the same time.  Didn't realize just how determined and devoted to his country he is.  I'm sharing the picture, mine is the far right. I do hope one day you to get to see your sailor showing their strength and devotions. You will be surprised and so proud at the same time.

Need to get along - hugs all.

     Hey anyone hear form Ang?

    How about from MyKid?

Ok, I found this picture a long time ago. And Blondie this made me think of your yard this coming Spring. With all the snow melting and the water standing in your yard, the birds will need stilts to look for worms.

  • T-Lynn

    Sorry got carried away.

  • DramaSoul

Shelly...that sort of explains the look on his face! :-)

  • Kim

Just caught up a weeks worth here.  I loved all of the pictures.

TLynn, got her hug.  Sounds like your sailor needed it too.  The best way to get rid of the germs is to turn off your heat and open all the windows in your house for 10-20 minutes.  I'm Canadian, remember? Oh just saw the picture (I am posting as I read)

People keep asking me how I handled the weather in Canada.  I say it was easy.  It gets cold, it stays cold, it snows, it stays on the ground.  They know how to clear the roads and melt the snow to prevent the mounds.  Black ice, potholes, ice storms and wintery mix are not in their vocabulary.  Then spring comes.  Period.

Loved the Longhorn story.  I posted 6 months ago that my son took his wife to an expensive restaurant.  His tab was picked up so he took her back the next night.  She deserved it.

I love "till next time".  I will be using that one.

cbc, great article.  My sons ship went through a "man overboard".  The captain sent out an immediate message through the ombudsman that made me understand that it was not my son, but I now understand why all outgoing communication was shut down.  AntiM explained to me at the time that it was standard procedure.  BTW, I think we are a totally "open" group.  Our comments will come up on google and any terrorist is free to join.

Dramasoul, I wish I could see your plays.  We go to many local productions.  I live 2hrs from New York and don't get why my neighbors spend hundreds of dollars for a play that I can see at the Opera Theatre in Lancaster, Matinee, for $35.00.  It is the same story and the actors are (unknown) and great.  I usually spring for a hotel, dinner and a tour and shopping in Amish country the next day.  We just saw Arsenic and Old Lace.

I'm loving the Scarlet Ohara quote.  TLynn...put it in the Navy Mom Dictionary.

Wow, posting after reading an entire week is exhausting on this site. I loved every bit of your news.

  • Kim

I read tonight that Fred Phelps went into hospice.  He is the founder of Westboro Baptist.  We have posted many times about the great people that block these idiots from protesting military funerals to promote their "hate".  I am praying for his soul tonight because the bad in me wants every person to go out and give his family a piece of the grief that they gave our heros families.  I know, we are better than that.  I don't know how to explain it, but I feel so strong because of you ladies.

  • DramaSoul

Kim, I read about that.  I have lots of friends and some family who are gay and it just infuriates me that he could promote that kind of hate.  And I keep thinking about what Martin Luther King, Jr. said that the only way to combat hate is with love.  Tough to do but we are better than that and you are right...there is strength here with Navy Moms. I thank the Holy One of Blessing (one of the many ways to refer to G*d in Judaism) for being led to Navy for Moms by a guy named Craig at the RTC Facebook page.  I was floundering when my son was about to leave for boot camp and the recruiter told me about the Facebook page.  I went there and Craig told me about Navy for Moms.  There is NO WAY I would have gotten this far without Navy Moms.  I know I can get through it because you guys have been there and understand.  What I learned when my son joined the Navy is that I joined the Navy and as Craig said, we are a family.  I have lots of friends and family outside of the Navy but they have no clue what it means to have you son/daughter away and in harm's way. It isn't like college! And harm's way can be training on the base or it can be at sea or it can be boots on the ground.

    Navy Moms ROCK!

  • Anti M

    Love the pictures, T!

Yes Kim, this group is wide open to anyone in the world who has internet access.  I think even the groups which are closed groups can be viewed by those who know how.

Man overboard, that is so scary.  I hope it turned out well.

welcome girlnboots ... do you know which base in Japan?  We have several.  Yes, she will get to come home before she flies out.  Orders are usually for three years.  I suggest that she gets a passport although she won't need one officially.  You should get one too, in case you decide to go visit.

  • Kim

Maggs, You beat me to it.  I was going to post that as a surprise for you.

  • Kim

I have a question.  If a sailor (in San Diego) wants to give up their apartment and put everything in storage for a long deployment....Will the navy pay to pack them up and pay for the storage?

  • barbara10/08

    Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Waay too early for gardening here-except maybe to start some seeds indoors.

Blondie, sounds like you have spring fever. Me too:

Maggs-kids sound smart. Did you have pie too?  Our kids high school math classes always did.
    We had pistachio cream.

Shelly, that sounds wonderful- a drama free life. I can share some if you ever get too bored:)
Love the pic; time does fly.

    Kathy-come further north!

Drama, yep, it's all about cars lately. Grandson Nolan adores the movie and is having that for his birthday theme in a couple weeks.  3 yrs old already!
Congrats on the good run- what's next?

TLynn, hate the time change too. As you're cleaning, don't forget to switch out the toothbrushes- or at least soak for 10 min. in rubbing alchohol.
Yep, cried too at the Box.  Leaves you with such a hollow feeling.
That is an Awesome photo of your sailor looking so mature and not only competent but confident in what he is doing. Congrats on raising a fine son:)           Saw a pic once of my sailor on board ship conducting a training class.  It made me feel so proud to see him all adult and mature in a leadership role that I could only imagine until I saw that pic. Not our "little boys" anymore, but so proud of the men they have become.

Huskies, hang in there, it sounds like you are doing great in the sounding positive dept.

Joshmom, glad they got home safe!
yep, one in Every family. I struggle with guilt feelings dealing with my younger sister. I include her in events and then regret it because she is so negative she puts a damper on the whole event. I'm at the point where I just can't do it anymore & will have to drastically limit my time with her.
It's too bad but what can you do?

Kim, I will open my windows tomorrow- we will be in the 40's whoo hoo!!

Welcome aboard girlnboots- You take it one day at a time and try to remain positive for them even though your heart is sinking. Come here often-you will learn a lot and can ask any questions you might have and someone will have the answer.  And collect lots of hugs and take lots of pics when she comes home before shipping out:)!

  • Anti M

Kim, he needs to contact PPO (personal property office) and find the latest policy.  From what I know, the answer is no.  The Navy does offer long term storage, but it usually is in conjunction with PCS orders, not deployment.  I also know things change, so he needs to ask.

Windy and cold here.  We should get snow or a snow mix soon.  I am not worried about my pansies, although I may move the small pots into a more sheltered area.  I cannot find my small terracotta planter, it seems to have hidden itself somewhere.

  • Shelly

Anti M- I love those blue pots!!! so pretty and vibrant!  And the pretty flowers.  I have a black thumb. Nothing will grow for me. Lucky we live in the desert and cactus can live for long periods of time without water.  Lucky for the cactus in my back yard that is.  I ALWAYS forget to water it.  and it is still there.

    Happy St Patricks Day!!!

  • Huskies

So that's what a flower looks like! Is 3 years really normal? What happened to 1 year over seas duty? That new movie Frozen! That's how I feel! I was so prepared for boot camp and graduation and A school but not this! I had no idea!
  • girlnboots

She is going to yokosuma. I am ready have a passport. Lol.
  • Kim

Thanks AntiM, I passed it on.  I think they confused with army daughter that had PCS.  The wife of sailor is moving home and going to school, I reminded that they will still have BAH.

Welcome new moms.  Huskies, I never heard of orders for only 1 year.  My sons was 3 years in Japan, he had to extend his contract when he left Japan so they could find him orders.  2 years was the least they would do.  Remember, flights home make a great Christmas present.  Pool all the money he would spend and all the money others would spend on him.

Blondie, did I miss something?  Your sailor is getting engaged?

Shelly, a black thumb?  I didn't know there was a name.  I have one too, on top of that I am allergic to everything in the garden.  last time I tried to weed (with gloves on) I got poison ivy.  It went into my bloodstream and I have to have a cortisone shot.  No Thanks!  Never again!

  • Anti M

The only place which had one year orders when I was in was Diego Garcia, as it was isolated duty. It is longer now, 18 months? Anywhere with good facilities and potentially suitable for dependents is up to three years.  I think they are saving money by not moving the sailors as much, and there is more stability in the crew if there is less turn over.

I am allergic to leaf mold, so now I have to wear a mask when I am working with the lawn or garden.  Potted plants are easy, I just replace them when they die.  Pansies are tough little guys, it snowed last night and they are perfectly happy.

  • Mississippi Mom

Blondie, your back!!!! I missed you yesterday.  Computer problems-UGH! Hate, hate, hate them!  I hope you get all of yours resolved soon. I think I missed something...Sailor is getting engaged??? Congratulations to the both of them.  I love the ring!  He did really well, with your help, of course!

Kim & Anti M., Bless you both.  I love being outdoors and my hubby says that my happy times are "digging in the dirt"!  I love working in my yard and flowers.   I have been working outside trying to get my yard back into shape. Mine sort of fell by the wayside last summer after foot surgeries, so I am working hard on it.   I can't wait to start planting, still too early here for that.   The warmer days just give me the "itch" to get outside.  My buttercups (daffodils) are blooming and that always makes me very happy.  I gather a new bouquet about every day.  I need a new one here at the office.

Not much excitement going on here.  Still dealing with insurance on daughter's car.  The never get in a hurry.  She has my vehicle and I have my sister's Jeep, which is a straight stick!  I haven't driven one of those in 10 years, so it is an adventure.  I have to go to Dr. in large city Thursday, not looking forward to driving the Jeep there.  Maybe by then I will be much better at it.

Hubby is out of town this week.  :(  My house is really quiet, especially after having our daughter home for the weekend.

Barbara & T-Lynn, I too hate the time change!  Last week just about kicked my butt.  This week is better, and I love the longer days, but I so hate giving up my hour in the morning. I am not a morning person and I need all I can get.   I wish we would just leave it like it is right now, and stop changing it.

  • T-Lynn

    Hi

Well, I missed some things - Like a new mom here!

    Welcome girlnboots :)

And everyone - wish Kathy happy birthday!!!!!

Maggs - don't mean to upset the Irish. But us saying the way we do - is just us.

Anti M the plants and the flamingo look beautiful.

    What did I miss ...??

Overboard - we have a sailor overboard?

And Blondie's daughter is getting engaged..?

Kim - you forgot an update on your foot.

Everyone head to Miss - her hubby is gone - Navy Mom party !!!! Bring snacks - sleeping bags, and gossip. Oh Blondie bring the bathtub full of booz :).

Thank you all for the more ideas of how to get this home "sick free"! And I am doing them !

Just looked at the time, I have to go in early today and in uniform. some meeting for a school.

    wish all great day  hugs

  • barbara10/08

    Happy Birthday Kathy!

Blondie, well, hope it works out for them-the ring is beautiful!

AntiM-love the blue also, but love the logs on the wheeled platforms-gonna steal that idea!

Kim, sounds like my sister-she breaks out in hives everytime she weeds with gloves on.  It's not her "thing" either so no biggie.  I would be devastated-love gardening, looking at other people's gardens, trying new ideas....

Missmom- be careful & good luck with that Jeep tomorrow.  I always enjoyed driving a stick but haven't done that in years either.

    Seeing more of these lately:)))

  • Grayce

I can't hope to ever keep up with ya'll on the posts so I just catch a few here and there and post when I have a chance or need something that I know ya'll will know the answer to.

I think I mentioned that our Sailor went to Sasebo 03/03 and has gotten a phone. He says there's an app that let's him call but that we can't call him. His Dad tried Skype but we're not sure if he can't do that from where he is or if he just isn't available when he's tried. He called Friday morning around 10:30 or so. For him it was just after midnight so Saturday morning there. He's suppsed to be assign to the USS Bonhomme but as of Friday, he's not doing much of anything.  He's posted some pictures on FB and it looks like he's having the time of his life.  He's now a world traveler!  And so grown up.  I wish I could be with him though...if I had it to do over again...

So we're stuck here in the States and wondering if/how/when we could send a package to him.  From his last call Friday, their plans are sort of in the air...nothing's final until it's final and then it's too late.

Here are the rumors then: they will fly him and the other new sailors to the ship and let them train coming back in. The ship will be dry docked and all systems upgraded/updated for 2 years. They will transfer his assignment to another ship for the duration. They are decomissioning the ship.

He's been there for a little over two weeks now and hasn't done much of anything...hurry up and wait I guess.  Frustrating because during this time, we can't call him, only two calls and those have been brief so no address, no sending any packages. I think he's in a barracks similar to the Florida school barracks, so assume he's on base, with roommates.

Glad to see some of ya'll are thawing out...sort of.  We've had 60-70 degrees and then yesterday BAM 32 cold, sleet, windy. Supposed to be back in the 50s by the weekend though. No wonder people get sick this time of year!  I'm just hoping this cold will kill off ALL the bugs and I can spend some time outside without feeling like the sole contributor to the all you can eat buffet. :)

I guess I need to run for now. I'll try to log on tomorrow if our other Buyer comes back to the office.

    /hugs to all

  • Mississippi Mom

Grayce, hang in there girl!   Do you know if you can text your Sailor?   When my son was in Japan, I could text him, but couldn't call him.  We could also Skype.  It takes a little while to adjust to that time difference.  I finally learned, and I also got the App on my phone when he was on his last deployment.  That helped me a lot.  My son loved Japan!  He got do see and do so many things while he was there that he would have never had the opportunity to do without the Navy.  My advice is to stay as busy as you can, and just be available whenever those phone calls or skype calls comes in.  We left our home computer logged into Skype at all times while he was in Japan and especially on his last deployment.

He is now stateside, and we can call him whenever.  It feels like he is almost next door now after so many years of being on the other side of the world.  He is 14 hours from home, but I can call him.

The next time you talk to him, tell him to give you his address.  He can give you an address, even if he is out on the ship, he will get the package eventually.  It will make you feel much better to send him packages.   I am still mailing to my son and his wife, and I send packages to my daughter who is in college.  They all call me thanking me for their "happys".  My hubby laughs and says they could go buy the same things you send to them.  He doesn't get that they love to get things from home.  My daughter called me when she got her last one and said that I made her day by sending a new sponge.  She has a hang up about dirty sponges, so she is continually buying new sponges.  She said she and her room mate got a big laugh that I sent her a sponge. Her room mate told her that Mom knows her all too well. Sometimes it is the small things.

  • Huskies

Mississippi Mom, what app did you get on your phone? What do you think would be the most useful device for my son to get before he goes to Japan, a laptop, notebook or smart phone?

I guess I better start a Christmas Club...or buy an airline!

By the way, how much leave do they get to come home?
  • navymom3

Huskies your son will need to get a phone once he gets to Japan. As the ones here won't work there. We used to use the app viber to text and call for free but both have to have the app. Now we both have the iphone and facetime and text all for free. My son also has a laptop but does most everything from his phone.

  • Kim

Your sailor will get 30 days of leave a year.  It is up to his command when/if he can take it.  My son was allowed 2 designated weeks at Christmas (group 1 over Christmas, group 2 over New Year) and 2 weeks around the summer.  First year was June, 2 year was in September, 3 year was cancelled because of INSURV.  They don't lose it, it accumulates.

  • Mississippi Mom

Huskies, the app that I had while my son was in Japan was "World Clock".  It is actually on my new phone in the settings. He got phone when he got to Japan and sent me the number that I could text him on.  We could not call that # without it being an international call, but we could text him.  Not sure what app he was using for that.

T-Lynn and everyone else pack up and head South! The sun is finally shinning here, and warming up.   I promise to feed you all well!  As to quote the Shrek movie, "we'll stay up all night swapping manly stories, and in the morning I'll make waffles"!  That happens to be a quote that used all the time in my house when I cook waffles.  LOL!

Kim, give us an update on your foot!

Barbara, thank you!  I am sort of getting use to it.  Hubby called me yesterday, the guy that hit my daughter, his insurance is reserving a rental for us, since daughter has mine.  Hubby won't be home until late tomorrow night, and I have to go out of town to Dr. appt. tommorrow, and won't get home before the rental place closes, so we will have to get it Friday.  Don't want to keep my sister's vehicle forever.  I might need it again one day.  Did I tell y'all her Jeep is bright (Tennessee) orange?  Oh yeah, can't miss coming or going at all!

Got a call from my Sailor this morning.  He ran his first in forever 5K race this morning.  He said he last one he ran was the one he ran with me after flying home from Japan (2011).  I still don't know how he did that, after flying all night, then we ran the next morning, but he smoked me bad!   He said he wasn't proud of his time this morning, but I told to be happy that he finished!  I would take his time any given day.

  • DramaSoul

Maggs...I LOVE THAT SHIRT!!! It is soooo my life.

  • Grayce

Well, now we've learned he's being taken to the Bohomme on Monday... well Sunday for us. How will that change things? No idea what to expect now...I emailed him, but who knows if he's even looking for that...frustrated screaming in my mind and a splitting headache for two days...
Got to love Spring /rolls eyes
  • barbara10/08

Grayce, Can you send him a fb message? Maybe he could set up a time to  call before they send him out.  Usually they have a different e-mail on ship and he will have to send you that address from the ship. It is more limited time-wise as they all have to share computers.  But if they are in port he can call you or text you.  Hopefully, he'll figure things out soon and your communication will improve.

Missmom, how sweet that she called you about the sponge.  It's true, it's the little things & being thought about and remembered that count.
Now that's an offer that is hard to resist- warm weather, gabbing all night and you are going to feed us too! Boy, do I wish I could take you up on that!

Maggs- me too, but hey, at least we're still joking:)

Ugh, so glad my taxes are done for another year.

  • Huskies

Thank you navymom3 and Mississippi Mom for the phone advice. I guess it's time to put the old basic phone out to pasture. I've got to learn about "apps!" I'm going to need SO much help!

Kim, is it possible that they could come home twice a year?
(I'm starting to feel a little more hopeful)!

    PUPPY MAYBE!!!!!!
  • Grayce

Huskies -  Here's our Annabelle when we first brought her home. You can just see how mischevious she is and she took up all my free time. But these are a high energy working dogs and sadly, she was closer to our Sailor than to his brother so I think she misses him almost as much as we do...

Sometimes, she'll run into his room, ball in her mouth, and then come walking slowing out, she'll come to my feet and sits down, spitting the ball out and just puts her head down like "he wasn't there"...I just hold her and say, "I know, Babygirl, I miss him too" and then she's ok for a while again.

Post a picture if you do get a puppy, please.  Happy Friday ya'll.  I'll let you know if I get to talk to him before he is sent out to the ship.

    /hugs to all

  • Kim

Huskies, it is possible that they could come home every leave (with permission), but it would be a little hard on the wallet and him.  My son came home every New Years.  Here is how it goes.  Leave starts at 16:00, so he has to book a flight the next day.  They have to arrive back the day before 08:00 of duty, that means he has to book two days before (time difference).  Traveling uses up 3 days.  Jet lag is horrible, he hasn't adjusted to the time, so I hugged and kissed him when he was sleeping ALOT.  He didn't get his chip approved much before leave so (holiday time) it usually cost him about $1800.00 for flight.  He spent his summer leave vacationing in Japan and those are memories that he will have for a lifetime.  Try to plan a trip to see him.  I now kick myself for not doing that.  Although, we have told him that we will go with him to meet his in-laws.  I want to plan it for my husbands retirement gift.

  • Kim

Husky, my son was on the Essex, which is now the BHR.  He will only be allowed to use his ship email.  It will be xxxxxxxx@lhd6.navy.mil.  It's the xxx part that I am not sure of.  Be excited for him.  They are excited to be flown out to the ship instead of having to wait for it.  My son arrived and left during spring patrol.  Your son will be going out with others to start his career and some other sailors will be returning to go to their next adventure.  Exciting times for all.

  • T-Lynn

    Happy Spring !

Big news on the tv here - it is suppose to be 50 degrees today. Believe it when I feel it.

Wow- this place is jumping in the water with gossip :). To engagements - ok - just friends in the navy - phone calls and airline flights - sailors coming home - and Maggs with here humor. Yes , this place is good :)>

Kim - you forgot update on foot.

    Maggs what is Angel doing?

    Cute puppy Huskie :).

Barb - what is Nolan doing ?

Orange . TN Orange...? is this related to a sports team?

I guess I did not get enough gossip - sorry, just  need it

    Have a little here:

Hubby will have second eye surgery on Monday at 2 pm. He is so looking forward to it. He loves being able to see with his right eye that was already done.

And I am waiting to hear form doctor's office whn I will have the heart catheter ablation. I decided not to play around with medications to see which one will work. Just get in there and zap that nerve and I will be off and running. ( sounds like I'm entering the Kentucky Derby)

Wish all Happy Spring again and hey - we have a second Blue Moon this month !!!!

Wish all a great weekend.  hugs all

WoooHooo it's Friday and a beautiful sunny day here in MO...suppose to hit 70!  I thought my life would slow down a little since my youngen is no longer in sports now but wrong...busier than ever.   Our church is having a Lenten fish fry today and guess who's in charge of the frying...yep me & hubby.  Been very busy making fish coating and getting everything ready this week.  Thank goodness the weather is pretty last year we fried in the snow!

Huskies & Grayce hang in there!  Yep communications can sometime suck but as Kim said your sailors are in for exciting times.  Mine enjoys sea life and is ready to head back out, of course he doesn't like being in one place for very long!

Love the puppy!  My 90 lb 5 year old lab still thinks she's a puppy and even though she's too big to sit on my lap she always has to sit right up against me as close as she can get. She's like an appendage every time I go outside!

TLynn - prayers for you and your husband that all goes well.  Love the attitude!

I really enjoy all the pics and funnies...keep 'em coming!  You ladies always make my day.   Have a great weekend everyone!

Oh Miss is having a sleep over?....count me in I'm not missing waffles!

  • Huskies

No puppy yet! Annabella is Grayce's puppy! Hopefully I will be bringing my new fur-baby home on Sunday if all goes well!

Hi everyone-it's been too long since I posted. Weather here is too cold to start any gardening and the darn deer bit of the 2 inches of hyacinth that was peaking up already. Been getting occasional emails from my gal while she is deployed. Wedding plans are going well-I got my dress and she gave me her approval! My ankle is still not completely healed after spraining it 5 weeks ago-but I was warned it would be slow. I am back to my ballet class doing whatever I can-which leaves out quite a few moves but I am trying to rehab without overdoing. We are rehearsing for a show in May-hope to be OK by then.

Hi all.  Hope everyone is having a great Saturday.

Huskies, fur babies are my thing.  I got 1 just before my sailor left and the 2nd about a year later.  The funny thing is that my sailor is an only child, but I found it necessary to have 2 pups.  We had NEVER done 2 before and it is a challenge.  I guess it takes 2 pups to fill up my heart.  And boy do they ever.  See my picture, Thats my hubby and the pups.

Hugs to all!! and welcome to spring!!!!!!

PUPPY DAY! Everything went through for the adoption and we are leaving in a hour and a half to get our new fur-baby! I am so excited!

Shelly, your puppies are so cute! I really am worried about how I will be when my son leaves for Japan. I am SO happy for him but heartbroken at the same time. I have to keep telling myself that this is his life and I have to get on with my own. I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't 10 puppies here before he comes home again!

Huskies-We all understand the feeling and the anticipation of the separation. Come back here and share your thoughts and tears. One of the best things I found to help me was to help others. The support here can get you through it. I can assure you that you will cry, but you will also smile. And the new puppy will definitely keep you busy. I can't wait to see your new fur baby pictures!

PUPPIES!! We had 2 dogs (papa and son) when my sailor left for BC in 2010. Papa dog died on Flag Day 2013. He was 16. We still have his son but he is almost 12! Last all we adopted my daughter's dog. She was 5 months old....OY!! She has been good for the other dog. He is energized and playful again. After his Papa passed, he was in a funk.

I've been in  a funk lately. I think that I was so busy planning and fretting over grandbaby and wedding  since last June, I guess I'm feeling slighted because daughter and grandbaby were here DAILY .She went back to work on March 11. and I've seen them ONCE since then.I feel like I have nothing to offer them so I am discarded.  Having my sailor home  for a week was awesome but when he returned to Japan....geez did my heart ache! Sailor's 'Pan contract is drawing to a close, so hopefully I'll be able to share time with him before he heads off to his next far away duty station ):

Badma, sounds like we should have connected yesterday. Sounds like you need a BIG NAVY MOM HUG!!!!! Big let down after all that activity. It's normal but it's not very fun. Hope you can find the sunshine soon (figuratively, not in reality, especially here in AZ)
    HUGS my friend.
