Hi All! I have not fallen off the planet....been reading and not posting. It has been 8 months since I started the Autoimmune Protocol and I am beginning to feel better...long haul! I have another 8 months before I try to start adding foods. Based on an inadvertent consumption of something with sunflower oil, I am guessing I may have to just adopt this as a way of life. It made Thanksgiving interesting!
Love all the pictures!!! My son was home for a couple of weeks in October around my birthday (not sure if I posted that). It was fun to have him around. He has an awesome sense of humor which was greatly appreciated.
Chanukah started last night. I love the glow from the candles. It's about bringing light into darkness and rededicating ourselves. All the wonderful fun foods are not on my approved food list...boohoo. I have to tell you, potato latkes made from sweet potatoes with arrowroot flour and gelatin instead of eggs are not quite the same!
We had a lot of RAIN today. I know, the NW you expect rain but it usually doesn't fall in buckets without a break. You would think people who live in the NW would know how to drive in the rain...not so! I never got our of 2nd gear on my 8 mile drive home.
Hope everyone is well! I will keep reading. Let you know when I am ready to start audtioning again, T-Lynn.
I did go through this thing with having to sign on again. I have been on N4M for 4 years in January!
BLONDIE; Talk about STRESSFUL I lost my 21 year old daughter to suicide 5 years ago this time of the year. One week after I buried her I got her acceptance letter to John Hopkins School of Medicine. Now my 20 year old son in Japan said he won't/can't come home for Christmas because of assignments that he needs to do and he didn't turn his Chit in on time and it didn't get approved so you want to talk about stress.. UGH
But I do believe that God will pull me through, he didn't bring me this FAR TO LEAVE ME NOW! A mom is not suppose to bury her children... :-(
as a mom I have to keep going for my son. Happy Holidays everyone
Drew
CLAMOM: As i go through grief, as i center my focus on what is ahead of me as a Christian. I have to take a day at a time. Tomorrow may be different. Yesterday is a canceled check, tomorrow is a promissory note, but today is cash.
I'm at a point where I need to decide whom I will lean on, trust, and put my hope in. Now is the time to search God's Word and hold on to this lifeline. God will meet me where I am, at my point of pain. He is the only way out of despair.
The bible says Listen to God's promise to you and claim it: "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart'" (Jeremiah 29:11-13).
I realize that I need to search the Bible and seek my way with all the strength I've got left.
Thanks for listening moms you all are wonderful.
CLAMOM. - YES!!! Amen, one othe the best scriptures thank you so much!!!! I needed that
BLONDIE - I am so sorry for your loss as well, I know the pain to well. Yes I do have a support system but it still hurts, I think I could have taken it better had she died to an illness, car accident..... But suicide, yes I had counseling for a few years - I always asked was I a good mother???? Everyone says she couldn't have had a better mom, did I do something wrong???? but I question myself all the time. You never get over the pain and this hole in my heart will be here forever, but I've learned to cope better. Just venting I guess but this is suppose to be a happy time of year enough about me. Thank you so much for your support and hearing my cries. No I haven't joking the pray wall how do I do that
Gentle hugs to you Drew. I know you will find the message you need.
DRAMA !!!! Hi girlfriend !!!! Oh I get so exciting when everyone checks in :).
AS usually you have a full plate of things to do. (Sorry about the pun) And wishing you much happiness in the Festival of Lights. I have my fingers cross that soon you will be sharing that you are doing so much better - so much better - that you are on the stage again. Until then - I send hugs.
Kim - you flurt. So where did you two go on your date? We are all ears here. Looks like you are having fun - send more gossip and pictures please.
Maggs - check in please. Not feeling you. Either you have broken a toe again or Angel climb the tree and all the ornaments are scattered around the house.
Blondie - I have a feeling you are about to go into over time of activities. Please remember to share a bit a time here.
Miss, Josh mom - times for updates from you both.
And my grandson, should be taking off running - not walking - any moment now. And I cannot keep up. If I do - I should be a size 10 in days !
Need to split - that Laundry Fairy moved in! Hugs to all.
We did get a lot of the Christmas decor up. I go in for major surgery on the 28th. They'll keep me about a week. Then I'll have several weeks of recovery. Yuck. Clear liquid diet for two days after Christmas. That's no fun.
Congratulations Joshmom! Woohoo coming home for Christmas! So excited for you to see his homecoming. There is nothing like it all. We were blessed to get to see our son come back from an 8 month deployment. I will never forget that feeling.
Blondie, prayers for you and your family. I know I am wasting my breath, but whew girl, you need to slow down just a little bit!
We are still moving right along on the kitchen...making progress but sometimes not fast enough for me. Although we did take a break from it last night. Hubby was just really tired after work, and I was too. I think our weekend caught up with us. We worked really hard all weekend and made a lot of progress, but it does finally catch you. I guess we will be working tonight to try to make up for last night. I will be off tomorrow afternoon and I hope to get a lot done. I finally got my decorations up. Didn't put them all up, but did enough. My yard has been a work in progress, but I have finally quit there, too. One of my neighbors stopped by and told me that his children love all my gingerbread cut outs and if we see them stopped it is the boys wanting to see it all again. I told him to bring them any time. I told Hubby this is why I do it. We also have 2 nursing homes that load the residents onto their buses and bring them out to see the lights in our neighborhood and they always stop and look. It is a lot of hard work, but so worth it to know that one person enjoys it. My son helped me this year as my hubby was rather busy. Son told me to just let it go and forget it this year, that we were just too busy to worry about all of that stuff in the yard. I just smiled and told him I would get it whenever I could and I would do a little at a time. I got home 2 weeks ago from dentist on Thurs. and he called as I was walking the door and said, "Mom are you working on Christmas in the yard?" I told him I was about head outside and he said wait on me, I have to hook up trailer and I will be there to help you get it all out. That sure did make my heart smile, and I would have never got it all done without him. He worked so hard and did all of the driving of the stakes and securing it all. Even though I told how much I appreciated all of his help, he will never know how much it meant to me. I stopped and thanked the Lord for the man he is becoming.
Does everybody have all of their shopping done? I still have a few more things to get, and have got to get started wrapping!
Drew, hugs, prayers, and love coming your way....
AntiM, will be praying for you. I hope you enjoy your Christmas and all of the goodies.
WOW - Happy Dance has started !!! Oh how exciting Joshmom !!!! Please share pictures and a hug from all of us with your sailor that he is home for the holidays !!!
And Miss - give that gentleman of a son a hug too. You must be still bursting with pride. I think he knows how your decorations are appreciated by all who come by. But honest - he helped out because he knows how much it means to you and he wanted his mom happy.
Ok- call on a vote. All in favor of Blondie taking it easy - aka - slowing down - post YES ! Maybe if she SEE how many YES' there are - she will.
So - YES = Blondie ! ( gentle hugs friend, you have a lot on your plate - but - YES !)
Drew - hope by now you are feeling all the hugs from here. And that your heart feels some better.
Maggs- I agree, a green December is weird. Now we have rain too. But hoping soon for things to settle down and go better for you. hugs
Anti M - will start sending Reiki energy and then restart the energy again after your surgery. May be you can have Egg Nog - that's a liquid. Even chocolate cake! Hey, at a fast food place called Portello's - they have the best chocolate cake and they make it into a shake. That's a liquid too. WE here could send a list of liquid meals to the hospital for you . then you would have good eats :).
Hey- Riker is awake from nap and grandpa needs help . Not to mention the laundry fairy moved in!
Hi EVERYONE - was having a pity party, but I've picked myself up and dusted myself off, there's still a little dust still on me. Yep it's Christmas time and I know my daughter (who has passed) and my son (in Yokosuka) would not want me to be this way. I'm slowly wrapping Xmas presents and putting out some decorations. I'm hanging in their gals.
JOSHMOM - Yoo-hoo glad to know your sailor is home!
BLONDIE - YES, TES! Yes!! the New Year will be better it's gotta be - you know prayers are COMING your way.....

Good Morning Ladies...hope your holiday shopping is complete. I am so delighted to have my sailor home for the holidays this year. It's been 4 years! I have a question for anyone that may know. He would like to rent a car. He is only 22 years old. I know in California the legal age to rent a car is 25.He thinks it is different for military. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, please enlightened me. Happy Holidays to ALL!
Blessing of the Yule! or happy first day of Winter.
Oh Blondie - gentle hugs. And it was nice to hear you are relaxed. but your relax and my relax are so different.
Glad to hear Drew you are doing better. Keep moving one foot in front of the other - you'll do fine.

MOMPLUS2.... I know you are overjoyed to have your sailor home I'm happy for you a long time coming. Enjoy the holidays
ANTI M and KJSDAUGHTER- Happy holidays y'all ! Have a safe and prosperous one
I think I've had my holiday. We went to Vegas for Santa Rampage, which was a blast. Hubby bought me some fancy stuff in the Forum Shops at Ceasar's Palace, and we ate at the Cheesecake Factory. Our friends came along too, so much fun. Scary to think we were at the very place the tragedy happened just a few hours later. I am weeping for those poor people and their families, and that tragic disturbed young woman.
I am having surgery the 28th, and have to prep that weekend (yuck ick ugh), so no Christmas dinner for me, and I'll be in the hospital for New Years.
Good news, my 'Pan sailor, who is now on a precomm in Miss, is a chief selectee, and he and the wife are newly expecting! Yay!
I so like the pictures. That snowman , I laughed so hard- it is right on -supposed to be in the 70's here for Christmas .I am in the midwest ,Missouri. Hugs for all of you and prayers that this time is a bit of a rough time-I get sad off and on as this is the 2nd year my sailor will not be home but otherwise much to be thankful to the Lord for. So glad you had a great time in Vegas Anti-M and yes so tragic. Merry Christmas everyone. Thinking about all of you. :)
Sitting at my desk with tears in eyes - the stupidest things and I'm bawling. First Christmas without my boy - I read everybody's stories and want to send hugs out to everyone!
Maggs...You have been here for so many of us including myself. So, I know we will be here for you for every step. I know stage 4 sounds scary but please remember the power of prayer. There are miracles and natural care options. I am sending you an air hug and will pray for you and your family. Take care XXOO .
TyTulip40 here for you here is a BIG hug for you. In Post Office last week mailing package to my sailor and tears welled up yep sad moments a BIG :) for you
I am a little behind reading on here and will catch up later.
Maggs, I wanted to say that I am happy that you decided to share your story with everyone. You have been brave and you need your navy moms. I am close enough to come hold your hand whenever you call.
Psalm 27:5: For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock. One of my favorite scriptures .
Oh Maggs prayers coming your way and YES momplus2 is correct the POWER OF PRAYER.... You know we're here anytime.... Drew
Thank you for the hug Joshmom and the verse Drew. Yesterday in reading the Psalms this really popped out at me . In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God : He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry came before Him, even into His ears. Psalm 18:6
I am going to list my thoughts or I will forget. Well fingers crossed I don't too.
1. Anti M - I agree with all - so very happy you had a great time and Vegas, but happy you were gone from the area of tragedy. Will be thinking and sending positive thoughts for you and upcoming surgery.
2. Blondie - what a cutie!!!! So happy she will be home for her Christmas. And gentle hugs for all that you have gone through the pass few weeks. Love the snow - sorry - mud man :).
3. So glad several of you checked in!!! Especially Maggs. I have been worried about you. So glad you opened up. And that you know how much YOU mean to us.
Hey all - I have been sending Reiki healing energy for several days. But I would love it if all of us would pick the same time and day to send prayers - healing thoughts to Maggs' hubby and to her! How about it? We have done so in the pass. And thank you Kim - for being able to go and give her the hug so many of us want to give her. Hey Pan Moms - what about tonight - 5 PM Central for sending our powerful prayers and thoughts? If you all have a better time - or Maggs send a time you want. Luv you gf.
4. Tulip - crying is perfectly alright. Actually that is one of our rules, that we moms can cry anywhere and at anytime. And we all still do it too. So gentle hugs to you. Also, remember you can knock anyone out of your way when teh phone rings too.
5. Miss check in! I finally have had time to watch teh news !!! Tornadoes hitting some areas of Mississippi. check in that you are ok.
Well, finally all done here for Riker's first Christmas. I told the kids forget the toy chest - we have to have a toy room! And then his first birthday is next month.
Need to split - Laundry Fairy is still here. hugs to all
Happy Yule and Merry Christmas too.
Oh - if you can see the Full Moon on Christmas - please do so . It is a Super Moon! hugs
T-Lynn A hug for you - so glad your Christmas with Riker was great-they are so fun at that age. It is raining here....we have had rain the last 3 days and will until monday around 8 inches. Need to wear duck shoes. Anti-M been thinking about you and praying for you in preparing for your surgery and will tonight and tomorrow as well. A hug for you. We had Christmas with our one son and face timed with our sailor. Our family Christmas with everyone will be next Saturday and hopefully will be able to face time with our sailor again.A Hug for everyone. :)

Blondie - moved over I too an sick. maybe we should break out the Jack. That will scare it out of us.
Thank you Jesusintheboat. good to hear you had time - even computer time with your sailor.
Hey - it reminds me - someone had a sailor coming home - Where are the pics? Us Pan Moms here need some pics.
ANd talk about weather - yuck. Still over cast and cold. That rain changed to rain/sleet/ freezing rain and then snow. my home was crusted over in ice. that has melted but it is that damp cold. Hope everyone else has better weather.
Miss - check in
sorry this is short - but my head needs to rest. hugs all
I treasure this group of moms from Japan. I hope those of you not feeling well will be able to get some rest. Yes weather has been hard for many-flooding in areas where i live but not by us. Breaks my heart to hear of all that is going on with the weather. We will have a family Christmas January 2nd and hope to face time our sailor again. May all of you have a Blessed New Year - praying for you all. God bless :)
oh Anti-M that is great , I may be wrong but I thought you were possibly not having anything but liquids for a week? So glad to hear how things are progressing. :)

momplus2 - if your sailor cannot rent the car, maybe you can a car (he can pay you) and he can use yours?
I ordered a beautiful Christmas door wreath from Esty. The vendor handmakes them and it was perfect.
May you all continue to be blessed this Christmas season.

Thank you for the hug Joshmom and the verse Drew. Yesterday in reading the Psalms this really popped out at me . In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God : He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry came before Him, even into His ears. Psalm 18:6

HI
It is a Super Moon! hugs
