Good to see you Drama ! How things going for you? Any chance of hearing you are in a play?
Miss - HI :). How's things for you too?
When I can share, I do have some gossip. BUT I cannot share at all. And no - not going to be a grandma again.
Can share :):
So far,no more biting at day care or falling down and getting black eyes. Knock On Wood.
Plans are moving for his 2nd birthday - dinosaur theme.
Hubby's eye is doing some better . AS long as he remembers to wear that patch! The problem, there is a blood vessel that closed up and not supplying blood to the muscle holding the eye to move back and forth/ up and down. So now it is weak and his eye drupes down. So he sees double. He is hoping to hear from his doc for a blood test his eye doc wants. But the eye doc did say this problems heals on its own - takes three months - so looks like I have a Pirate for a hubby. Maybe I should get him to dress up as Captain Jack Sparrow. Arrk! Just remembered - he will be prepared for Pirate Day. anyone knows when that is?
I do know that today is Spaghetti Day! Darn - we had that last night.
Anyone hear from Maggs? Just wanting to hear she is doing better.
Still on this side of the pond. Sometimes things become overwhelming. We were at Hubbies Chemo, and Dr visit. His leg is swollen, so we had to go for a Doppler scan, but, thankfully, got the all clear. Came home and looked at booking my flight, as I go the funeral information. The airline I wanted has increased their fare, It was now over double the price. So I had to go with another airline. This is a no frills one. and you have to pay for everything. But it is much cheaper, and faster than the other one. I will have to leave earlier than planned, and come back later. Will miss my grandbabies birth, but have the children going with hubby to his chemo. Daughter and her Fiance set up skype, so I can be with them while the baby is on its way. Set up messenger for hubby, so he can keep in contact with me while I am away. Just need to pair down my suitcase, and try to remember I can wash clothes while I am there.
Dang it's COLD! was in the negatives, hit a high of 11 today but with the wind chill still feels like -14. Tomorrow suppose to hit 13 but tonight negatives again. Yes, I got my coveralls out, parka, boots, scarf, gloves can barely move. LOL
T-Lynn how's the Captain doing? (hehehe) di he have an injury?
Maggs, how exhausting. Know we are with you in Spirit. Hugs.
Maggs - Good to hear that hubby's scan was clear. And that he is doing ok with treatments. So wising a safe and easy trip, both ways. Sad to learn that you will miss teh birth, but great news that you can skype. You do have a pass word set up for this skyping - right? Otherwise Angel is just going to go wild talking to new cat friends around the world.
Blondie - can freeze my nose off here too.But it's suppose to be passing soon. High 40's on Wednesday. So warmer weather is coming your way - at least for a bit.
Nothing mush here going on . Tomorrow back with scouts - so getting examples ready for help teh boys get some ideas on what to do to create their own treasure map. I am going to show them that REAL treasure hunters do exist and how they find it. And then talk about maps/clues. Wish me luck.
HUGS, I haven't left go yet. But once I get to VA I'll give you a breather while I collect and give family Hugs.
Our temps are above zero but wind chill(feels like) still in the negatives, I do see that warm up coming our way...with rain/sleet and snow! Sailors sent me a pictures Saturday, they're covered with snow. LOL not so funny tho when I think that's where I'm heading! But they have a fire place and we are having a soup bar and a hot chocolate bar for the baby shower so lots of good smells and warmth. The Theme is Baby it's COLD outside. These girls crack me up! So excited to be there and see everyone, collect hundreds of hugs, some over a year old! Geez where does the time go? Why can't they all be stationed at the same command? Oh well we will make the Best of their 4 day weekend.
T-Lynn good luck with your Scouts. Everyone's healthy there?
We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us. Our days on earth are like a passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace. —1 Chronicles 29:15
Maggs, hope all is going well with you. Prayers continue.
snow/sleet/rain arrived. wind is coming under winter storm advisory and wind advisory starts at 10am. UGG everything is covered in ice and snow melting.....Yuck!
Good morning Pan Moms! I have been meaning to update about my foot. I am out of the walking boot! Yay! Got to start tapering out of it, on December 19! After 23 weeks of it, I was ready. I wore 2 shoes on Christmas Day. I still am doing intense stretches and some days it is "achy" but that may be that I will always have a "weather foot".
We had a really nice Christmas and enjoyed getting together with all of our families, but I was pretty tired when it was all over. We enjoyed having our daughter home for a few days, and have been missing her.
My son passed his FAA flying test yesterday for his private license and is so excited about that. He is enrolled for this semester and will be doing lots of flying this time. He and wife bought a new truck right before Christmas. She is loving it. He said he doesn't get to drive it much. He still has his older one.
Blondie, reading about your weather makes me cold. I got a "snow day" Friday. Honestly there was no snow on the ground only on the leaves. But we were being told that the bridges were icy. Since we get so little, our Transportation Dept. does not have the equipment or means to handle it. The bridge I cross here in City has still got slag on it. I guess the City didn't have any salt. I snap chatted a picture to my daughter and she showed it to everyone at work and she said they could not believe that I had a snow day. It was quite funny. We did a blast of cold weather. Sunday it was down to 7 here and that is mighty cold for Mississippi. Today is suppose to be in the upper 50's and by the weekend up to 72 (shorts, tee shirt and flip flop weather for us).
I hope everyone is well, and that all are hearing from your Sailors.
Thinking of you, Maggs, and lifting you and your family up in prayer.
Blondie, enjoy your time with your sweet daughter and all of her friends at the baby shower. Prayers for safe travel. (With your weather today, I would have gotten another snow day!) LOL!
The biggest lurker of them all here - our office manager (and wife to one of the partners) brought in their daughter's Girl Scout cookie order form. Just what I needed (not) - but going to order for home and for Operation Cookie Drop!!! Now there's something to get everyone excited about.
It's been extremely cold here - thankfully we've got a fews days of respite weather. I'm over the cold.
Hope everyone's new year gets up and running with better days.
Miss, glad you're out of that boot! Holidays can be so Exhausting. WooHoo to son!!!! We too laugh at some of the delays and cancelations in other states. We just put on more clothes and leave a bit early. LOL My parents were in Crossville TN and they'd close schools and businesses if they saw a snow flake, not sure if they were scared to drive or just wanted to go out to play. LOL Although some of those mt. roads were dangerous, they'd just close them. That's what is scary about driving through WV this time of year. But not gonna let that stop me! hahaha
Scully, Nice to hear from you. I agree didn't need those girl scout cookie sales! but how do you say no to those Granddaughters?! mine also will get shipped out as soon as I get them, get rid of that temptation. LOL
By 9pm last night they added severe thunderstorm warnings to our list. and yes people were loosing electricity. Phone wouldn't stop ringing! Then at 11:45pm my eldest daughter texted her husband wanted something for sore throat and sinus, I told her Thanks for the late night text, tell him to suck it up, I'd bring stuff this weekend. she was still texting at 12:15, I finally said Love you and turned phone off but then couldn't sleep. UGG
Rain and high winds for the next 2 days/nights and then temps. dropping back to low 20's. we're re- thinking our departure date/time. So if you don't hear from me Know I am enjoying my kids! hope you all have a safe and Fun weekend.
Our new intern started Monday, he asked Dr. T you let her have time off now?! She replied I told her she could work 3 weeks and have 1 off. So I said, after I threatened to retire she hired a part-time girl so I leave whenever I want. House we were looking at and considering putting a bid in on (across the street from Sailors) went up for rent !!!! Daughter sent me a picture of sign so I'm putting it on Doc. desk this morning. Bahahaha
So good to see you Miss! And yippee out of the boot. You will be dancing soon. WE know about snow days. Right now we are getting freezing rain days! congrats to your son and glad you had some daughter time.
Blondie - honey - just get some time off and relax. Good vibes being sent for the house for rent.
Sully, I have to do the same thing about cookies. But those mint ones - addictive !
Kim - check in. Getting a bit worried - no words form you.
Well - before I scroll through and see how everyone is doing - my sailor surprised me and showed up Dec 31 and left this morning! I was one happy momma! Wasn't able to spend Christmas but got New Years and his 21st birthday! Bless his heart, he had it planned for months and everyone but me knew! One of his friends slipped about a month ago, got my imagination wondering - but surprise wasn't spoiled!
TYTULIP40 ...... i'm so happy for you what a great surprise! Last time I saw my son was in July hope I get to see him this year... he says mom get on a plane and come to Japan. I said when I can drive to japan that's when I'll go. LOL I cannot imagine being on a plane 13 hours Gulp!! I'm already afraid of planes I'll have to get drunk before I get on a plane. LOL but I'm glad you enjoyed your sailor
TYTULIP - I'm in Michigan my son said it took 13/14 hours he took Delta straight flight I didn't want him changing over it cost a little bit more but that's okay. But when I can drive I'll go to Japan what does that tell ya. lol I love my boy though but geeeezzzz long flight. I'd need a shot of Henessey, Jack Daniels Scotch bourbon etc. and then I might get on that plane. I'm really afraid to fly. I have flown before and the airline stewardess had to hold my hand til we landed.
I've made that flight more than once, and yes, it is long and often miserable. I've flown military charter flights, commercial, and space available in the big cargo planes. Civilian commercial flights are the best, of course!
So happy for you tytulip !!!! What a wonderful gift to have your sailor home.
Hope all are having a good week. ANd well too!
I just had to catch pink eye from my grandson. And his sinus infection too. I keep wonder when his immmune system will get stronger - so he won't bring home stuff from day care. ANd mu immune system just had to go on vacation - I just can't get well. See my doc tomorrow - hope you all have a healthy week.
Only gossip I have, celebrated grandson's 2nd birthday yesterday. Just nearly 20 persons there. Did he party!
Oh Maggs I'm so sorry this is a poem you may like I think it's so beautiful. I'm praying for you and your family....
Sleep now, my angel, and rest your eyes.
Mommy must say her last goodbyes.
Please don't be sad, and please don't cry.
Mommy will give you the wings to fly.
If you don't want to say goodbye,
Mommy will watch you and stand by your side.
Life is not fair, but please understand
Mommy's not far, I'm holding your hand.
I'll kiss you goodnight, chase monsters away,
Warm up your heart on a cold winter day,
Be the sun on your skin, the wind in your hair.
I'm never too far, I'm standing right there.
My time spent with you will long be a treasure
Of infinite leagues no ruler could measure.
Mommy must go, it's time to fly.
Take a deep breath and let out a sigh.
Live out your life and bid me farewell.
Find in your heart the strength to excel.
Your future is bright, you'll go far, my dear.
Don't get too sad, don't worry.
I'm here.
We left on the 12th after work to head to VA. Through torrent rain! Seen a car drive behind the guard rail, slid down the muddy embankment (mts. of WV) and go nose first into a river. Next town we stopped for the night! Fri. the 13th drove through fog in the mts. couldn't see the semi in front of us and rain most the way. But got to VA beach safely! So did 2nd car, my eldest daughter, SIL and Sailor's BF from high school. Had a GREAT time, went fast and we did a lot. Baby Shower was a Big hit, we waited out the ice storms and took our time coming back (mon. and tue.) because it was still raining. Ohio is wet and warm for this time of year. What a Muddy mess! Just trying to get back in the flow of work. Hope you all have a Great weekend. we have a niece in from the west coast an a blood drive on sunday. so busy, busy So work right now, then Church and go see niece. Tomorrow is blood mobil, then groceries...have to do laundry in there somewhere...!
Wow I started this Saturday morning and am just now getting back to it. Tursday morning! This is my life! :(
Kim, so sorry I missed you!!! As you know I'm not a electronic person :( And my mind was on sailors and then the other car traveling down from Ohio. not a pleasant drive either way but it is winter...my daughter lives 20 mins. from the ocean.
We took that flight I just kept my thoughts on the end results, Christmas and New Year with my Sailor! plane was full of people going home for the holidays so lots of excitement and noise, very little English spoken, the food was Great, Asian...I read a book and poured over Japan history and a tour book sailor had sent us, scheduling our stay, places to see, things to try etc...and don't forget the time change Ugg. LOL Coming back started out great, they had a camera on the nose of the plane so se could watch take off and see everything, then we hit storms, had to drop 30,000 feet and that caused me to get a Migraine and we were not allowed to leave our seats the whole time! WE arrived at Chicago the same day/time we left Tokyo! It's well worth the trip to HUG my sailor. I'm sorry for those who are scared to fly but honestly that was only my 2nd time on a plane, I'd do anything for her.
So, I admit, I am just a stalker to this site, but just love hearing how everyone is doing! My son has been in Yokosuka since 2015, and my daughter in A School in San Antonio, following in her brothers footsteps. She just got soft orders for Okinawa, so she has sworn me to secrecy, but I know I can share with you lovely ladies! I just had to tell someone, I had to beg her to let me tell her Dad, lol. But Corpsman brother is definitely off limits until the hard orders come through and then that will be her job to share!
I will always be here listening and praying for you all, my Japan Moms! Love and hugs, Lauren
Leaving Mums house, for the last time Tomorrow. Will return to Scotland, and visit with family and friends. I have two appointments I have to make. but other than that I am visiting family.
Oh Drew, I agree. I miss mine every day! It's been 11 years and 4 months. I can't tell you how many times I've picked up the phone to call her....Luckily my girls and I are very close.
Gentle Hugs Maggs and I agree - you need some Me Time Our ears are here for you and our hearts have plenty of hugs to share
Oh - is that "calls mom" so right on!
fingers crossed all are well. I finally getting to go back to work. But that darn bug is still in the house - now the kids are getting it. funny they brought it in! Well double my finger crossing - so NON of you get this !
Blondie love it that's so true call momma hey Blondie you know I lost my daughter at 21 years old 6 yrs ago and it will be a hole in my heart forever I think I told you God will pull you through you'll never get over it but it will get easier you'll learn to cope better and that's what I do thank God for family and friends and this website met a lot of folks on here I'm a grandmother and great grandmother so I know. Maggs hang in there girl were here for ya thanks again Blondie I really love that call mom

I'm sorry for those who are scared to fly but honestly that was only my 2nd time on a plane, I'd do anything for her.
phones a ringing gotta go...

Love and hugs, Lauren
pssst: Thanks for letting me share my secret!
