    The Falkirk Wheel.

  • T-Lynn

    HI
    Beautiful Maggs

  • Anti M

Maggs, wonderful pictures.  I just spent time looking up the Falkirk wheel ... wow.  I have got to go see that!

  • DREW7062

    WOW great pics Maggs
  • maggs

The Falkirk Wheel is at the end of the Canal, and it takes the place of several locks.  They light it up at night.

Breaking News!  Punxsutawney Phil says 6 more weeks of winter.

  • Blondie

Beautiful pictures!  We learn so much here....I too had to research them all. :)

winter?  we've only had a sparse event.  every 3-5 days it changes.  we lost all our snow again because of sleet and rain.  High of 24 and teens at night now but no snow left :(  It was snowballing last night but not enuff to cover the ground.  only good in this is my sidewalks and parking lot at work are cleared....less work for me.

The rest of work stinks.  Kim (new girl, 6 months is that new?)  still isn't getting it but she's never there!  makes her our hours and Doc. lets her!   And truly I can't do training if we're always busy with customers but Doc. doesn't want to pay 2 of us to be here....well Doc. doesn't know how to run program so certainly don't want her training!  She hasn't mastered the new ICD's from last Oct. leave alone all the new Medicare rules.  Mandatory that we take BP (which I thought we should anyway in some cases)  she says, I don't want to, why do I have to.....every day, getting old.  But don't let a medical Doctor miss something on her Mom or Dad! We hear about that for months.  we have to do pain assessments, outcome assessments....it's built into our program!  Anywho back to Kim, she gives the wrong Doc. thee other's money.

    Example, this happened Monday.

open envelope (came in mail) addressed to XXX Chiropractic, check written out to Dr. XXX.   She gave the money to Dr. YYY and paid off a Dr. XXX bill with it.  So Dr. X did the work and Dr. Y gets the money.

another one was she billed a patient that didn't owe!  The money was right there in payments.  All she had to do was apply it.

One more....husband and wife are both patients.  Wife send check with a patient number in memo of check  no less.  Kim gave the money to wife even tho she didn't owe, AND husbands name was on check too and his patient number in memo!  So now wife has a credit and husband still owes, so she sends a bill out ot husband!!!!!

And I get to field all the phone calls

thanks for letting me vent have to run, office is busy already  Worse 2 weeks ever!!!  have my eye on April  (BIG smile and dreamy eyes)

  • Blondie

I needed a smile, so sending youall one also.

  • Blondie

why does it keep asking me if I'm a robot?  anyone else getting this?  then I have to pick all pictures with mountains or road signs, or apartments....my eye sight isn't that good!

  • Blondie

  • Anti M

    WD-40 and/or duct tape ....

  • Momof2

What's the best time of year to go to Sasebo?  Also, what are some MUST sees while there?  Thanks

  • T-Lynn

    HI

Isn't duct tape a must on this site?

Oh Blondie - it sounds a bad comedy show you are working with. How did she get teh job again?

Yippee Srping. Us too - no snow - but cold. Asl long as we keep some rain,I am ok with the weather - then our water table builds up and no drought.

Wish all a great weekend I am sick - again. this time the doc sent me a nebualizer. The bronchitis was blocking my asthma inhaler from working completely. So back in bed and coughing my head off.

    Gentle hugs

  • T-Lynn

    Making these again Blondie?

  • Kim

I am behind posting, but I read every post every day and enjoy.

I want to hear more from new moms.  Momof2, I promise to get back to you on that.  My DIL is from Sasebo. I went to Yokoto Base for 3 weeks on business and I can tell you that every step outside the base was a "much see ".

AntiM can give you the place for your sailor to get more information.

My son went wild when he first arrived in Sasebo, seeing the history.   So many opportunities.

Maggs, I love the pictures.  I said it on facebook....I feel that I know your mom through your posts. Huggs   Welcome to the Grandma Club!

My DIL has found a Japanese part time pre-school in San Diego.  He just started talking at age 2.  He has chosen to call my husband by the English Grandpa,,,,Bampa.  He has chosen to call me the Japanese name without the "san" (from the daycare)  My son tried to correct him and I said Nooooo!.... It is an honor.  I love it.

  • Kim

obaachan, oba-chan   It sounds like Baaa Baaa

  • kjsdaughter

Good Morning.  Does anyone know of places that would deliver in Yokosuka for Valentines Day?

  • maggs

I cant believe how quiet it is in here. So here is a photo of what I came home to.

  • maggs

Look what I came home to. Baby Charlotte, two weeks old!

  • Anti M

Maggs, she is adorable!  Congratulations on the tiny human!

  • Anti M

@kjsdaughter .... sorry, didn't see your question.  Flowers?  The answer is pretty much no, unless the NEX florist on base is doing local deliveries.

For future reference there is Bake Me a Wish, which does cakes to FPO, and then donates part of the proceeds to Operation Birthday Cake.

  • 2tymeNavyMom

    She's a beauty! Congratulations.
Bad news for me is I broke my upper arm Sunday while riding my bicycle.
My Corpsman son is beside himself with not being able to help. He is a great help with reminding me what questions to ask. Have two weeks before the next x-ray when they decide if the bone has stayed aligned or if they will do surgery to put in pins. I also have nerve damage that requires physical therapy. I'm tooo old for this.
Prayers are appreciated. Have a great Friday all!
  • NavyMum

    Congratulations Maggs - she's beautiful!

((((Hugs))) and prayers 2tymeNavyMom - may the healing be fast and complete

  • Mississippi Mom

Maggs, she is beautiful!   What a sweet, special blessing for you.

2tymeNavyMom, Oh my....prayers for quick healing for your arm  and no surgery!   Bless your heart.  Sounds like you have a very sweet and thoughtful son.  I know that makes you so proud. You are making me second guess the purchase of new bike.  LOL!   It is going to be a while before I can run again, and hubby is wanting to get me a new bike so I can ride around the lake.   I am wanting a "standard" bike with no gears, so I can just cruise!  Take care of yourself and good luck with the therapy.   I hope you have a great weekend that allows lots of rest for you.

  • Kim

Maggs,  She is adorable.  She looks like you.

  • Blondie

could have sworn I posted last week!  it is a bad situation. they hired her when I ended up in the hospital.  she had no experience!  she is kinda spacy and an airhead (sorry)  she doesn't remember from morning till night.

    OH Maggs What a Beauty!

Ouch 2tymeNavyMom.  sorry to hear that.  Prayers heading your way.

Sailor is in her last 6 weeks!!!!  Joe tore a muscle and is a lot of pain, fluid collecting.  was taking to civilian hospital by ambulance (from medical) they took x-rays, MRI and a CT scan and sent him home with pain killers.  Monday he went back to medical, had another x-ray and was put on light duty.  Poor thing can hardly breath!  can't lay down....we've been feeling sorry for ourselves.  I have pneumonia again, seems like every year it settles in.  :(   Wed. he got 3 messages to go back to medical, but they called his cell phone!  not his work, command...so he reported back to medical yesterday, had Another x-ray starting to make me wonder if he's not asking the correct questions.  They had to take him off pain killers and onto anti inflamatories, so he could work....UGGG

Melissa's Husband got a job back here in Ohio and has moved back, but Navy is making her stay there for now :(  trying to get through the red tape of medical discharge, plus still taking radiation and chemo...trying to sell house...Can't wait to get down there in April...maybe March :)

  • disneygirl64

Hi Ladies I am new to this group my son has been in Japan for a little over 6 months. He is stationed on the Ronald Reagan. I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

  • 2tymeNavyMom

Welcome disneygirl64. There is a we alth of knowledge here from all these great ladies.

Man it sounds like we have all been through our trials and tribulations this last couple of weeks. Sending prayers for sore backs, selling houses, ease of moving, healing for pneumonia, air headed help, new babies and new duty stations. Dear Heavenly Father lift our loads. Help us to remember you are always there if we could just remember to give you the load.

As for me... the trauma surgeon reviewed the X-rays and said it's surgery for me and asap. Not sure if I mentioned below that I have nerve damage but he wants the bone secured right away so I can start physical therapy. This is the first time I have ever been excited about surgery. This pain has been no fun. Surgery is Tuesday morning.

    Have a great weekend all!!

Mississippi Mom, please get the bike. I can't wait to get back on mine.
  • Anti M

@2tyme ... I hope your surgery goes well and you can start healing soon.  Sending love and light.

  • T-Lynn

    HI

     Where is everyone?

Its damp cold here. No snow - just lots of rain and dropping tempts. Sad thing did happen - last night and the last day of Febrauary - two tornadoes hit two small towns SW of me. How sad and now cold weather too.

Hope all are doing better hugs.

  • disneygirl64

hey T-Lynn it is cold and windy where i am. My cousins house was hit by a tree last night he is in WV.

  • T-Lynn

Oh, I am so sorry. Just the house was hurt? I did not realize just how far that storm went. I guess I better get the TV news on and listen.

Disneygirl64 - you must be a lover of Disney. So are my son and his wife. If this house could be changed in decor - everything - and I mean everything would be Disney. I have seen their hope of a Disney Bathroom. OMG! I love Disney too - but - I want to go visit. Wish you a good day . Hugs to all

    http://Www.gofundme.com/bsa-far-east-council

My son is an assistant Boy Scout leader in Yokosuka. They are short on funds for Archery supplies they need in order to get their badges. If you can help please click the link above. THANK YOU.

As for me, I am getting better. But, they discovered during the surgery that the nerve was impinged between the bones when they set them the week prior. I will have physical therapy probably for the next year. It's painful now but the good news is the pain is because the nerve is healing.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers.

I pray for those affected by the bad weather.
  • 2tymeNavyMom

Thank you Blondie. I will be adding Storm and mom to my prayers. Crossing fingers, toes, eyes and anything else for great news.
I'm sorry the Doctors don't treat you the way you deserve. I will give that to God as well.
I wish I could send some of our 75 degree weather to those that need it.
    Take care,
  • DREW7062

I'm new to this group. My son is headed to Japan.  Praying for safe travels

  • Blondie

Drew, he's growing up!  And I'm sure it's not that he doesn't want to...life is very busy over there and depending  communication can be a problem for them.  Just know he LOVES you and hasn't forgotten you.  HUGS

last spring/summer was bad for us too. hoping this year is better but.....

2tyme, thank you.  we have to stick together lol  Sorry about your pain, I will continue to Pray for healing and patience.  HUGS  I suffer from Migraines and  fibromyalgia so I understand.

Beachmomblue, HUGS.  Prayers going up for your son.  My daughter was there years ago and LOVED it.  we made a trip for Christmas/New Years in 2010 and were Very Impressed.  It is a VERY clean and friendly country.

  • DREW7062

Thanks Blondie I needed to hear that I know I just feel so lonely you know I'm 65 years old had my boy 45 he's my baby and you know the story about my daughter lost her a few years ago so I just feel sometimes I don't have anybody I know I gotta perk up just buried my best girlfriend last Monday from breast cancer I'm just a big mess over here gulp UGH guess I'm having a pity party right now ... i'm trying to hang in there though . thanks for caring Blondie and thanks for your words
    (((HUGS))) back!!!
  • Blondie

HUGS Drew.  Love you like a sister.  You are NOT alone.
Sorry to hear about your best friend.  As you know I have lost a lot also....life isn't fair.  We're allowed pity parties as long as we put our Big Girl panties back on and face the world again.  We are all here for you.  Maybe you need a vacation...I'll be in VA in a few weeks.  You're always welcome in Ohio but weather has been SHITTY lately.

  • Mississippi Mom

Drew, big hugs for you, and you are in my prayers!   It is so hard when we don't hear from our kiddos like we want to.  I agree with Blondie, there are many reasons that you haven't heard, but I am sure he loves you and wants to talk to you as much as you want to hear from him.   I am so sorry about the loss of your dear best friend.  It is okay to have the biggest "pity party" ever.  Praying that God will hold you so close and comfort you.    Hey, the weather is just beautiful in the great State of Mississippi today, so just head my way!  It may change tomorrow, but today is 70 and the sun is shinning.  I hope you feel better soon!

Hang in there Blondie, hope Spring will just be around the corner for you.  How is our Mom to be and baby doing?

2tymenavymom, bless your heart, OUCH!  I will keep you in my prayers for quick healing for your foot. Please take care of yourself.

My daughter is in S. Korea with her job.  She is there for 12 days.  So far, everything is going good with it.  She is excited about going sight seeing this coming weekend.

    Hope everyone is doing great.

  • Chris, Forever Ray's Proud Mom

Hello All, My son will be joining all of your  Sailors at the end of the month! He will be in Yokosuka. He has wanted to go to Japan since joining, so this was a "get the tour" or get out point for him. I am so excited, as we plan to visit him while he is there. And, I have been following this group for a short time and all of you seem to be so caring and supportive. Love that. My son is an ET, just took his 1st's test last week.

  • NavyMum

    ((((Hugs))) Drew

Hello Chris! So glad that your sailor has gotten the tour he wants. My son is in Okinawa and loving it there
