  • T-Lynn

    HI

Here are the hugs maggs - NO waiting!

Please keep us posted about you and hubby and Angel.

Thank you for the warnings too. Yes, will let sailor know.

So far all is going well for him. Only thing - it has been raining - ALOT - so that meant no hiking.  So he had to stay indoors. That is not his favorite thing to do.

Take care - Keep us posted  hugs

OH let us know if he gets his birthday cake!!!!

  • maggs

Lyme negative.   Angels appointment is July 12, hubbys is July 18th for updated scan.  July 12 is a significant date in Irish History, and July 18th is late fathers birth date.

  • T-Lynn

Yippee Maggs !!!!!! Still sending Reiki energy to your little family - Angel too. And I will keep visioning a message on this site from you - saying :"Calm Waters and Smooth Sailing ahead!" I know that will mean only great news.    Gentle hugs

Wish I had some gossip. Sorry none  I guess I am going through a dull stage.

Wish all a great evening hugs

  • Kim

Maggs, still saying prayers.  Especially for your hubby.

July 4th my youngest slipped off small cliff, hit his head and went into seizure.  Multiple until emergency room.  They transported him to trauma hospital because scan showed a mass.  He has a brain tumor!  Surgery is July 20th.  I got my port in today and 1st chemo is Friday July 14th.  Maggs and I need some heavy duty prayers ladies.  I believe in the power of prayer.

My sailor got emergency leave and will be with us next week.

MAGGS AND KIM - prayers coming your way!!!!
  • maggs

Oh KIm I am so sorry. But you have a recovery Buddy and sailor will be home. :)  Let me set up a story, to take ypur mind off things.  My non sailor son took up archery. He just got his first bow, and has set up a taget at the broad side of our shed. After several new ventilation holes in the shed, I stopped by my friends farm, Picked up some moldy hay. Stacked it up behind the target, to save the shed. Son is practicing and he has been for an hour, I am sitting out front, with Angel. Angel runs inside, I look up, and see the police heading up my driveway. I asked if I could help them, they say they have a complaint from a neighbour, dangerous weapon. I invite them back to see the set up. They are watching him, look at the set up say "Very good" Shed is more than 10x10 back drop, hay behind target, looks perfect. Said to son, Cant ask you to move it, but if you put it in front of the shed, may make neighbour happy. I say, no, two little kids on right, dogs in back, if arrows ricochet, could hurt someone. They agree. I tell Police about reports about hubby and sailor BB shooting, and police get called. We cant do anything anymore. They said they will talk to neighbour. Hubby said he will go out and start BB/pellet shooting . Let neigbhours complain enough, see what police say next time. LOL..

We've got A LOT of rain but compared to others problems hardly seems bad enuff to mention.  Hopefully I can get on tonight at home and post pictures and tell a few stories...Gotta run for now.

Quick review... Vet looks at x-rays, and came to talk to us.  When she was fixed as a kitten, the fracture was on the growth plate of the femur head. It broke off! The femur head is still in the pelvis. The femur neck, and that area has been rubbing on the bone, so the top of the femur is deformed. So tomorrow, they will go in, remove the head, remove the neck, and smooth out the top of the femur. Then they will attach the femur bone, to the hip, making a False Joint.  It is called a Femur Head Osteoctomy.  They will keep her all day tomorrow, make sure she recovers, and we will see her Friday. She will be in the bedroom for 8 weeks. limited movements.

Kim and Maggs, lots of prayers coming your way!

Maggs, don't you just love neighbors?  We are blessed so far with good ones.   We live outside of the City Limits and there are no ordinances for our neighborhood, but we all seem to get along good.   Now I just hope I did not jinx that!  LOL!

Blondie, send some of that rain South!  I am watering everyday and it is still not enough.  We have had one little shower this morning, and it is still thundering so keeping my fingers crossed that we get more rain.   Your granddaughter is beautiful!

  • maggs

Angel is out of Surgery. Just waiting for vet update.  Will pick her up tomorrow at 1:30.  They called before surgery and after, They gave her Valium, put her in a box, and introduced some thing to make her sleep. Then they took her out, x-rayed her, shaved her hip, and took her into surgery. They called when she came out, to say it went well, and she was in recovery, and doing well.  They also gave her a box to hide in, however last night she was at the front of the cage watching everything that was going on. :)

  • maggs

    Angel post surgery.

  • Beachmomblue

Hi Everyone.  My son's birthday was last week.  I had the USO deliver him a cake.  It was wonderful.

  • Anti M

Howdy everyone, catching up after four days out camping where there is no phone or internet!

Poor Angel, but I am glad she is getting the love and care she needs.

  • T-Lynn

    HI

    OMG !!!!!

first thing that pops up is Angel pic! Well, I am so happy she did well and Reiki energy is coming her way.  Now you have baby chimney swifts. I guess the parents wanted you to take nature pictures so they moved in for up close takes. And let us know how your neighbors like your hubby's taking up the sport of BBs.  Sending Justice spell your way .

Oh Blondie - what an angel. You must be in heaven holding her. Fingers crossed all goes well in new positiion for your son-n-law. We had rain - but no flodding in our areas. Hope weather is better this week.

So glad Beachmomblue that his cake arrived on time and he had a good birthday :).

HI MISS !!!!! so good to see you .

Kim - you doing ok? Gentle hugs.  Marking the calendar of son's surgery - all of her will be sending positive healing thoughts and prayers.  Chin up girlfriend its a Pink Flamingo Monday.

Here not much -     Riker is now 2 and half and he has become aware of birthdays now. He now asks his mom ' My birthday? she tells him its when there is snow on the ground. So far that is ok for him. Sailor is bumbed - he wil not get to climb Mt Fuji this year at all. so he is busy trying to figure something fun to do. Adn mu hubby will have some back therapy - the doc called it the good rack, exercises and injections. If this does not stop the pain - back surgery. We will know in 4 weeks.  For me this is Bug Eating Week for Cub Scouts - you got it right. We are eating crickets and mealworms - baked! Not bad actually. So let you all know how this weeks goes.

Need to get ready to play with cub scouts and eat bugs

    hugs

  • Blondie

    Thank you Miss

Maggs, Thanks for the updates.  Glad she did good, hope recovery is speedy.

Anti M, hope, hope you had good weather and lots of Fun!

T-Lynn, Bless you, I am so glad scouts are over for us.  we did 19 years between the boys and girls...Although we had fun and loved everyone...Yuck to survival eating!  We coated them with chocolate.  LOL

Had a GREAT weekend.  7 of us went to Akron Zoon to meet up with my Son and DIL.  Got a 3 hour behind the scenes tour, I've done this many times but my daughter, SIL, Sister, BIL and niece LOVED it.  Then went back after hours for Brew at the Zoo.(wine and beer tasting )   Had a Blast, even had fireworks!  Got to bed late of course between 1-2am depending on couple LOL

After saying good bye to Sister, BIL and niece (next morning) Son and DIL had to go to work at 9.  Daughter, SIL and us went to breakfast then drove into PA to visit an adopted daughter and SIL AND to SURPRISE another adopted daughter and  our Sailors and Tahlia!!!  Sailors were visiting Hannah(adopted daughter) for the weekend, I told sailor CJ another adopted sister lived in PA with her new husband.  Sailor and CJ hadn't seen each other for 8 years!  And CJ only lives an hour from Hannah.  So Hannah and sailors and Tahlia of course drove up to CJ's thinking they'd meet each others husbands and catch up.  Hehehe   the rest of us arrived at CJ's before them and hid in the Kitchen OH, what a Surprise!  It was the first time 6 of them met Tahlia so it was a CELEBRATION!!!!!  Tahlia had 3 Aunties and 2 Uncles pawing all over her LOL  I'd let them hold and cuddle her but get in front of her and make a heart around my face (with fingers and tell her, "remember this face, I'll see you in 3 weeks."  And she'd just laugh....!  Eldest daughter said, oh Mama she remembers you!  Sailors then asked Sister (blood) and Hubby(ones who can't get pregnant)  if they'd be Godparents and raise Tahlia as their own if anything happened to them.  Oh what an emotional time!  hoping to get a few mins. today at home and upload a few pictures.

Gotta run for now, work wants me to work! :(

  • Mississippi Mom

Kim, praying that God will wrap HIS arms around you and your son today.  Praying for good results for you both.   Sending you many hugs and will continue to lift you, your son, as well as all of your family, in prayer.   Lots of love!

A week since Angel came home. So today I had to vacuum the bedroom. She hates the vacuum!. I picked her up, to much protest, put her in the spare room, and began the task of cleaning up the room. Meanwhile Hubby is cat sitting, and was fighting to keep her on the bed, as she was trying to figure out how to get under it. We also have ordered a new E-collar, one that is clear, so she can see all around her. :)

  • Kim

Thanks for all the prayers and hugs.  My sons surgery went well and he got out of ICU yesterday.  They got it all and no damage done.   Now we wait for pathology.

Maggs, he is in PA as an emergency, but he will need to go in network and find a specialist near you.

Sailor heads back today.  He doesn't think that he has done much, but he drove and stayed with me.  Red cross phoned to see if he needs anything.  I missed the call, but I will phone back and thank them.

I have enjoyed all the stories and pictures on here.  Gotta run to hospital.  More later.

  • T-Lynn

  • Blondie

Maggs, so she's doing better?  I'd just forgo the vacuuming.  LOL  Poor hubby!  How many cat scratches and bites did he get?

Kim, glad he's doing good.  Will continue to Pray for all of you. HUGS

  • KAM Mom

KAM has arrived in Japan......will be there for indoc and then off to his ship.  CVN 76   I think that is the short "Name".  Would love to hear reports of those first weeks.....

  • maggs

Angel Update:- My wee Angel is still recovering from her Hip operation. You wouldn't know it last night. She decided to try open the door, to get out of the bedroom. She has six more weeks of restricted movement. Then she decided the bedside table would be a good place, so she knocked things off, because she could. I dont think she is in any more pain than she is used to. I have no idea what she is going to be lick when she is fully recovered!

  • Blondie

KAM they take them in town, teach them the ropes, of money, transportation etc.. Where to buy a phone on base just introduce them to base and the surrounding area. HUGS  KAM will be fine, the Navy takes good care of our kids.  Japan is a very Kind, friendly, helpful, clean country.

Maggs, She's feeling better and is bored poor thing.  I don't want to be you when she cuts loss!  LOL

  • Kim

KAM, sometimes they fly them to ships underway and sometimes they wait until they return.  My son waited several weeks.  He checked in to some office everyday, was let out early and went exploring in town.  He loved it but was anxious to be on the ship and start his journey in the navy.

Maggs, glad Angel is showing some spunk.

We are still waiting for son's results.  I am nervous because I know it is not the most common benign 'meningioma'.  Prayers still needed.

  • maggs

My Sailor looks back in on his  first few days, at his port, with great memories. He learned a lot. One think he did, was help clean the base. Japan is a very clean country, so the sailors go around looking for discarded trash, and cleaning it up. At first he thought this was just a "busy Job", but he soon learned not to mindlessly drop a candy wrapper, or any other debris. He started putting wrappers in his pocket, until he came to a trash can.

  • Mississippi Mom

    Prayers coming your way, Kim!

KAM, I hope your son loves Japan as much as mine did.

Maggs- happy that Angel is better.

T-Lynn - Boy Scouts eating bugs???? YUK!  I sure hope you didn't have to try them.

I haven't updated in a while, have had lots of stuff going on.  It seems we are always busy.  I wonder sometimes how I ever had time to raise 2 children!  LOL!   I thought at this time in our lives we would be slowing down, but no such luck.  I have a lot of great nieces and nephews who love to come to my house to swim.   If seems like every other day I have kids in the pool.  Which is great, but I feel like I need to entertain the adults while children swim, so I let lots of things go, to go sit outside and visit.  Oh and did I mention it is HOT in Mississippi.  Hubby thinks I have lost my mind to sit outside in the sweltering heat to talk and watch kids swim, when I could be inside in the air conditioning!  I think I have lost it too!

I do have some really good news...my son passed his flight test and he now is licensed (private) helicopter pilot.  He is now working to get his commercial license.

Our daughter is doing good, just never gets to come enough for her Mom.  She has met a guy and they have made it official that they are dating.   He too works at KIA, but not in the same dept. as she is in.   Now you understand why she doesn't come very much.   No, really it is a 5 hour drive and that is always easy to do.  She asked when we are coming to see her.  I told Hubby we need to go,but there is always something going on.

I hope you all are having a great Friday, and have a great weekend!

  • Monkeyflower

Just found out my sailor is being sent to his ship. He has been in Sasebo for just over a month. Finished indoc last week and they told him he'd be staying in Japan. He's enjoying Sasebo so he was fine with that and settling in. Now he's going to the ship. I think he's excited, hard to tell sometimes when he only texts. I need to hear his voice.
  • maggs

MonkeyFlower, You should download something like Skype. Where you cant talk to each other over the internet. Its free, and you can see him. :).

Yes I am up at Stupid O'Clock. Angel was not feeling good, She woke me up with a claw to the face! It was a surface scratch, cut got me up. She had dry heaves, so I st up with her for an hour, until it passed. She is now sleeping, without her E-Collar, and resting up. I, however, cant sleep! I had to clean the Collar, dry it, and now keep an eye on her, and make sure she doesn't lick her stitches.  The things I do for this silly Half Ferrel ball of fur.

Now more news, to fill T-Lynns tank.  March 2018 Sailor will be expecting a new Recruit.  I am going to be a Gran for the second time! :)

Got to go, Angel The Devil Cat has decided to wake up, and try to remove her stitches. Thanks to the Elizabethans fashion, the collar is appreciated by me, not so much by Angel!!

  • T-Lynn

    HI

doing the Happy Dance Maggs !!! For second recruit - not that Angel is trying to remove her stitches. Adn I agree with Blondie - I do not want to around when Angel cut loose. Oh does she have double the Mischief Time! I know she must be making check off list of things to annoy Maggs. Gentle hugs.

Blondie - 10 days to go? Sorry I have been bugged out a bit. So please remind me about the 10 days.

Miss - thanks for stopping in and helping to fill up my gossip tank. Maggs was right - it was low. And yes - you are busier now. Because everyone knows that persons who are retired just have nothing to do - so naturally - you CAN do some extra little things. Anyone else giggling with me? but so good to see you - hugs.

Glad to hear that new moms are hearing from their sailors. Mine is on his second tour of Japan and is out and about with his ship. And I have no clue where - so hubby and I just wait to hear from him. Usually its a message on the phone. Sometimes he can talk for a few minutes. Agree - love hearing his voice.

    Here has been crazy:

  • T-Lynn

Part Two - I hit that send!

    Yes - crazy here:

     1. Friday I had eye exam to see how well the surgery - November 2016 - improved or not. Left eye improved !! If it continues on this healing path  - I might not need reader at all!!! But right eye has a fog that appears when the eye tries to see alone. so since my mom had macular dengeneration - I have to be tested for it in January. Keep you posted.

    2. Friday was hubby's 64th birthday and he purchased a banana cream cheese cake from the cheese Cake Factory. We are STILL eating that cake! Oh how my hips are loving it. I said my hips not me.

    3. Saturday late afternoon - Riker came to show us that his tongue hurt. WE all found a small red dot. BUT he was still running around, eating and drinking like nothing was wrong. WELL that changed in the night. He woke up screaming in pain. Kids took him to walk in and found huge canker sores all over and under his tongue! So on medication - which just was not kicking in at all.

    4. Sunday was our 40th Wedding Anniversary - and hubby and I just took off for a drive and see things. But we gota call for help from the kids - Riker was not eating or drinking. They wanted Papa home - because Riker will do things for PaPa. So back we go and pick up popsicles on the way too. It was not until late night that it appears Riker is doing better.

    5. Hubby and I planned to take today off - we thought we were going to be out late. So I am home helping dil with Riker and hubby is working  half day. Hubby also has his back therapy today at 4:30 pm He had one on his birthday too - first time to be on the rack. He came home asking me if he appeared taller. Oh boy - here we go of him getting taller.

    6. Adn I have an appointment at 4:30 pm too. I found a lump and even though I tried to make my own appointment for teh breast smash - on no - doc has to look at it first. Then he makes an appointment for the breast smash or ultra sound. I am not worried. I have been carrying so many supplies the last two weeks for scouts sessions - I think I pulled a muscles. But I had a lump removed years ago -s os checking it out. Promise I will keep all posted. But I am not worried.

    7. Yes miss - I ate bugs! Had to show boys it is ok And honest - the baked crickets and mealworms were good. NO CALORIES and high in proteins. I loved that - not sure about my hips though.

Ok - finally I had gossip to share!!!

Will keep you all posted. I really feel for my grandson though.

    Gentle hugs all
