Hubby Passed away last night, He was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer two and a half years ago, you would never have known. Just three weeks ago, after lack of response to a new medication, they told him his liver was covered in cancer. He moved onto Palliative care. They told him two to three months. We were not prepared for it to be three weeks. Still in shock.

  • T-Lynn

How do you like my new Garden Gnome?

  • Blondie

    How Cute!

Hubby losing his job June 1st.  Won't be 62 until Nov. still can't afford to retire, so guess he'll be job hunting.  Hardware is closing it's doors.  We're too old to go that far in debt to buy it....

  • Mississippi Mom

T-Lynn,  I love your little garden gnome.  He is a cutie for sure!  He is just growing way too fast.    Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Blondie, I am so sorry about hubs job.  I have no doubt that he will find something else quick.  He is a hard worker and wherever he goes will be blessed.   It's hard to find good workers now, so he will definitely be an asset to someone.   But you already know all of this with your past experiences with your helpers.   My hubby and I have this conversation almost daily.   Hugs and prayers for you both.

Please keep my Mom in your prayers.  She has been home from the nursing home since Dec. 9, but is having fits with her knee replacement knee.  It has been 15 years since her replacement surgery, and in Oct. the knee joint became infected.  They gave her 3 weeks of antibiotics and she got much better.   But now it has flared up again and she had 2 weeks of antibiotics by mouth and then 5 days by IV and today she is back at hospital getting IV antibiotics as an outpatient again.  Will do this through the weekend and if not better by Monday, has to go back to Dr.   Other than treating her with antibiotics there is not much that can be done for her.  She has too many medical problems to put her to sleep so the Dr. doesn't even want to try to take the joint out and replace it.  Besides, if they were to remove it,  she would have to lay flat with her knee in a brace that would not bend for 6 weeks to make sure the infection is totally cleared up and then have a new joint put back in and then go through rehab.  She is 87, and he said he was afraid she wouldn't make it through the first surgery much less all of that.

Our daughter has moved from Georgia to Phoenix, AZ.  She has taken a new job there and moved a couple of weeks ago. I was really hoping she would move closer to home, but no such luck.   I am very happy for her, and we Facetime  a couple of times a week, so that helps.  It also helps to see her happy.   She did make it home for a few days before her move and got to see everyone.

I have been thinking of you, Maggs, and you are in my prayers.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

  • T-Lynn

    Hi !

Blondie - gentle hugs. I agree with Miss - he WILL be hired fast.

Sending positive thoughts of him having a new job. How is the family and are you all ready for the Easter Bunny?

Miss - Gentle hugs and Reiki Energy is on its way to your Mom. There just has to be more that could be done to help her. Got a feeling a door will open for you. WOW - congrats to your daughter and her new job. Know the feeling of wanting your kids close. wish sailor and his new family were closer. But we do have my other son - dil - and grandson living with us. Now talk about CLOSE !  And grandson keeps his Papa wrapped around his little finger. I have to remind Papa - he MUST side with the parents about behavior and when grandson can have candy. Now telling this to the Great GrandPapa - well that goes into one ear and out the other.

No words from my sailor - hope to hear from him soon. And wishing the same for the rest of you too.

Maggs - thinking of you. Check in - we just want to hear from you. Gentle hugs.

The Spring Cleaning Fairy is visiting here. My kids are in full swing of cleaning. Even got the grandson doing it with his toys. He has a box saved of baby toys for his best friend's little sister when they visit. And a give away box of toys and clothing.

The family that took the puppy Daisy for the kids - has a little grandson and that little guys needs clothing. SO perfect. And the puppy Daisy - is so happy in her new home. My kids and the adopting family keep in contact and will be visiting . They have a mutual friend.

thank you - I love my littel garden Gnome too. wish I could make a statue of him and put him out.

WEll, got to get - Spring Cleaning Fairy is calling besides her cousin  the Laundry Fairy.

    hugs all

  • Blondie

positive thoughts, hugs and lots of Love coming your way Maggs.

thanks Miss and T-Lynn.  I'm almost sure all will be fine. lol  I'm a go-getter but he's laid back and says God will supply.  UGG

Miss, Prayers going up for your Mom (and you) it's so hard to watch our Mothers (care giver) begin slowing down and having health problems and nothing we can do.   Glad your daughter found a job she loves and is Happy but understand your frustration and sorrow.  Thank God for facetime! \

This has been on our radar for a couple years. He's been trying to sell it....  The main reason we bought the truck and he has jobbed looked but always something held us back.  He's very dedicated since he's worked there 23-25 years.  So he wants to stay till the end, get all the jobs closed up and billed out and set up for the action....

T-Lynn, Easter Bunny arrived in VA by USPS so all set there. Connor and Kyle will be at our house Easter Sunday!!  Others were stuck in cars when we were all together for Birthday Party On the 17th.  parents know what to do.   And next weekend Eldest daughter and SIL is treating us to a trip to PA for baby shower. Daughter said Mom we got our rooms for PA trip and there's an extra bed in our room!  LOL  So Easter Bunny will be a little late but in person for those.... what's that you call me, where it keeps going?   well you know what I mean. :)  Good luck getting grandpa and great grandpa to behave I have the same problem.  When you're done with the Fairies, send them my way. thought I was caught up with cleaning after kids left, but had a houseful this past weekend with dogs of course and we're in rainy (I mean muddy) season, when it's not snowing of course.

  • Blondie

Since Joe will miss Tahlia's 1st birthday they did pictures early.  Here's my sneak preview!

  • Beachmomblue

What a cutie.  God Bless her.

  • Blondie

  • Blondie

Cool Dude!   How or When did he grow up??

  • maggs

On Friday, I was clearing up some of his office, and I saw his writing in the back of a cubby. When I went to touched it, I realized it was an envelope, with the words "Happy Anniversary" written on it. I cried, but decided to not read it until Monday, our 35th anniversary. The front said "I love you with all my heart. When things are changing all around us ant the world seems to move too fast, don't forget I'll be right beside you, loving you." the inside confesses his lover for me, but also says "..so when you look ahead to the future or look back at how things used to be, don't forget to look beside you, because thats where you'll find me, loving you with all my heart.". My son and his girlfriend was there in the morning for me, then I went to see my new Grandson, then my daughter and her husband, and little granddaughter took me out to Daves favorite restaurant for dinner. I was never truly alone, but yesterday I dint want to get out of bed, but i heard him in my ear telling me to get up, and do something, anything but keep busy.  I did.

  • Beachmomblue

    I'm so sorry Maggs.  Hugs

  • Chris, Forever Ray's Proud Mom

There will be a lot of firsts this year Maggs, hugs thru each of them. Sounds like he was a  romantic! That will bring smiles in the days, months and years to come.

  • Blondie

so Proud of you Maggs!  Such a touching story, thanks for sharing it with us.  Glad you weren't alone. But I know you can be with people and still feel lonely.  But as the card said, He's right there with you. All you have to do is look in your heart and memories.  You know my theme is stay busy :)  Just know we are all thinking and praying for you.   Remember crying is okay.  HUGS

  • Anti M

Maggs, that is beautiful.  I am so glad he is always with you in your heart.

  • Mississippi Mom

Maggs, this was absolutely one of the most beautiful things I have ever read.  Lots of tears as I read this, mostly because of how much your sweet hubby loved you, and wanted to continue to be there for you.   Very few people ever find this kind of love, so very thankful that you did.  Knowing how much he loved you will help you through some really difficult moments.  Hang in there and know that you have Navy (Pan) Moms whispering prayers for you, and thinking of you often. Sending lots of prayers and hugs.

  • T-Lynn

Sorry this is short - time to chase Cub Scouts.  hugs all

    Hey - Kim check in!

  • Blondie

Spring is being illusive here in Ohio also.  First we had 1 1/2 inches of rain, then 2 inches of snow, then thunderstorms, tornado warning (just straight winds tho, no spin), and hail with another 2 1/4 inches of rain, yes flooding!  all within 48 hours. today is suppose to reach 40, then back down to 24, rain changing to snow.  UGG!

Awesome shelf cloud in Orient, Ohio yesterday.  This is what hit us.

  • Blondie

this is the weekend we are going to PA  with our Oldest daughter and SIL. to visit our adopted daughter and SIL for their baby shower, but guess what?  Jace decided he wanted to attend his own baby shower !

  • Blondie

    5# 1 1/2 oz he's lost a little but they all do.

  • Blondie

Tahlia turned 1 !  How did that happen, where did the year go?

  • T-Lynn

    Hi All,

First - Blondie ! Really you and that Ohio weather! You write so calmly about it..."oh we had some rain and a bid of winds and then go back to snow..." Talk about Climate changing in hours!  But that is what I have been trying to teach some of my cub scouts. I hope you do not mind, but I want to use what you shared and that amazing picture. That will say it perfectly. So very glad that you did NOT get any hurts from that storm.

I agree YaYa Blondie - where does the time go. Happy Birthday.   And what a wonderful surprise to have Jace there. I know he had the best time - gifts and all those wonderful Aunts - uncles - cousins and especally YaYa there for cuddles.  he looks adorable.

Weather here is strange too. Not drastic like yours Blondie - just weird.  We have had snow and ice for the last three days and woke up to it STILL this morning. But our Robins are in the best Fighting Irish mode every. So Spring has to be around the corner. Which corner ....?

News I have to share.... my grandson has been talking up a storm. And now using colorful words. So the time out corner has been busy,. Working hard to help him understand NOT to use those words and trying to figure out where did he hear them. Nothing too bad - just surprising to be eating and then hear ..." OH ----- that is good. Or "D------ --, it broke". Keep your fingers cross we all help him out.

And sailor is back in the states for a short visit. Not here, but with his new family. But at least when he calls it will be better hours and he will not be falling asleep and trying to talk.  And best of all - he will not have to get up at 3AM to watch his Cubs play.

Wish I had more gossip. wish all a good day and week hugs

  • Blondie

T-Lynn, good to know others are having weird weather.  Our birds are singing up a storm (maybe that's the problem. LOL) but I think just thanking us for their food.

Rhyen  (who is being raised by her dad Jeremy) He's doing an Awesome job!  she started with those words, not having a lot of females in her life....So we started teaching her other words, Dun, feces, manure, fertilizer....after all we're from farming country. LOL  When someone says Jesus, we reply Mary and Joseph Pray for us. (we're a catholic community).  Connor has learned from hearing us with her....it's fun!  we get very creative sometimes. wink-wink.

Good for your Sailor! and GOOD for his Mama too. even for a short while, we can breath easier. yes?!

We are having a snow shower here as I type.  These 20's and 30's don't want to let go. Very wet, damp....very painful.  And Prom is this weekend!  Nephew had a double header Saturday, Yes, I went and cheered him on Thank goodness 2nd game was called because of driving rain.  I couldn't have lasted.

Hubby has looked at a few factory jobs but they're all 7 days a week, 10-12 hours a day. don't think his body would take it plus you're standing on concrete!  Even the interviewer asked him if he was sure he could work in a building with no windows?!  But he got the 2nd interview.  Still looking :)

Joe is on his 5 week TDA, then will be home for @ a month.  Daughter and Tahlia is hanging in there. Nana not so much. LOL

  • Blondie

BEAUTIFUL morning here in Ohio.  Snow is falling, ground is covered and wind chill is in the teens.  But when you look out and see the trees, birds....It looks Fresh!  I decorated the office in spring flowers yesterday LOL  Mother Nature is laughing I'm sure.   My pain is less then the could, wet, windy....So I'm putting on a SMILE and gonna Love all my grouchy patients today.  I'll try to upload pictures when I get off work, my phone wouldn't cooperate this morning.

Big Navy Mom Hugs to all.

  • T-Lynn

    HI

That a girl Blondie!  show Mother nature what you want - SPRING!  Me too - I decorated and Spring finally came outside too., So it is on its way to you.

Fingers crossed that today when Riker gets home - no note of bad words. Let you know and thank you for the ideas. I have changed him saying OMG - to oh My goodness or gosh. Darn to drat. But the other - still working on it.

Busy week here too - Cub Scouts will have a planting craft - corn. We put dirt into toilet paper rolls - then the corn - then cover more dirt - put into zip lock bag and they take home with instructions to water until it sprouts and then plant it ! Right - these are city kids. Let you know how this goes.

Plus this Saturday is the big field trip to Galena Illinois. it is teh 64th Annual pilgrimage  adn there will be over 400 scouts invading that small town of 3500.  Fingers crossed we have good weather.

Have been able to chat with sailor and his family. HE is busy with finalizing paper work for teh Navy and having fun days. Like going to a baseball game (no - he did not get to see his Cubs play) and going to Disneyland. We were able tos end him package - he has wanted thsoe Mrs. Fisher Chips. So he is getting two hugs bags and four t-shirts for the alhem with the logo on it. I have a message in teh box - I want a picture. I know my dil will make it happen.

and on my fb page my dil put up the video of Riker riding his tricycle for the first time with out that safety handle for parents to control. He is proud. And he had to peddle up hill - so he had a great nap that day.

Sorry this is so choppy - I have to close now - get supplies for scouts.

    Love all of you. Hugs

  • T-Lynn

    Happy May Day!!!!

Well, my sailor is back in Japan now. I was not able to see  him - being he was on the west coast and me in the middle. But at least talking time on the phone was longer and better hours!

He and his new family did get a package from us. Finally he got his Mrs. Fisher's Chips!! WE sent two huge bags - that way he had to share. Plus, T-shirts with the logo of Mrs. Fisher's Chips on them. All royal blue with a dancing yellow potato chip. They sent a picture - now I have to get it off teh phone to share.

Filed trip with cub scouts to Galena is over - yippee. For the first time - my hubby and me had no cubs to watch over. Just walk around and check on teh groups and sight see. With the best weather ever !!!! We were able to stay in teh blacksmith's shop for a longer period and talk with the smiths. the owner asked us to come back - when there are no scouts and stay and chat. We plan on it.

Otherwise - only thing right now to deal with is my car's transmission. Left for work yesterday and the car had no getty up or go. It just said - no. was able to get home. Called hubby - he came home - tow truck came - now it is at shop. Either we fix it - $1150 or new one with 3 year warranty - $4100. Let you know.

Well, I am getting to home and doing some things to finish up the Cub Scout school session. We are done on May 11th. then get ready for Day Camps.

Wish all a wonderful May Day - and a happy week - hugs

  • T-Lynn

    Hi All.

Well, I hope all had a great Mopther's Day.

Mine was good - My grandson Riker was baptized. He and three other little friends too. And he was the center of attention, because he would answer the minister's every questions. He behaved wonderfully.

One of my gifts- A New Car!!!

Well really - my car repaired. Just $5685.38 worth. So I do have a new car and now it runs!!!

I have not seen any one here for a while - hope I my messages are registering.
