T-Lynn, yes, I've been having trouble but figured it was just me being me. LOL Glad to hear everyone is improving.
Spent Mother's day with my 2 girls, planted a flat of flowers, toured Joseph's new (finished) room. It's the blue room NOT Joseph's room! I asked where sister was going to sleep, he had no idea when I asked where the Nursery was he ran to it! Hahaha have to speak their language. My daughters treated me to a Floating Session. Sweet of them looking for alternatives to my pain. But I told husband, I use to do that in the 1990's ALOT CHEAPER IN MY BATH TUB! We all went out Sunday morning for breakfast then back to Joseph's to hang out. when he went down for a nap we left. It rained and stormed all day Sunday and I was miserable so glad we spent saturday and sunday morning with them. We had Frost and storms all week here. Spring in Ohio, not liking it much. My Boss Doctor is back this week, long days and I have both Doctor's working Saturday so laying low this weekend. Crossing my fingers for good weather and maybe ribs on the grill.
We survived the storms. We had lots of wind last Thursday, no damage, just lots of little limbs and sticks all over my yard. It was scary to watch the trees twisting. Our daughter-in-law was at our house and she wanted to leave to go check on their dogs, but Hubby asked to her stay and let it blow over. She did and was glad she did. We lost power for over 2 hours, but was so thankful for no damage. I had all of my family and my Mom at my house on Sunday for Mother's Day. It started raining about the time everyone was leaving. We had a lot of thunder and lightening, and lost power again for right at 2 hours. After that it has been good here, a little cool. My sister asked my Mother how many "Blackberry Winters" we can have in one year? LOL! It was 49 this morning here, but is warming it and the sunshine is beautiful. I would give anything to be off today, but no such luck.
I have good news.....we can finally go visit my Mom anytime without having to be tested and schedule the visit. This is so great! She is excited too! Also, my daughter is coming home Memorial Day weekend. She is so ready to see her grandmother, and now it will be easy for her. We do have to go to the front door and ring the doorbell. We have to have temperature checked, and fill out a 2 page form, and wear a mask down the hall and be escorted to her room. When we get ready to leave we have to notify them we are leaving and they escort us back to the front door.
T-Lynn, happy everyone is better! Take care and don't work too hard on that laundry.
Blondie, happy you had a good Mother's Day! I hope you get some rest this weekend.
Blondie, I have to look up that floating therapy. Honest never heard of that. But then you said it was better in your bath tub. Maybe my research will let me understand. But how nice of your daughter do that for you. As usually you are running on Over Drive. I think if someone offered you 10 million dollars to be STILL for 24 hours, it would be an ordeal for you. Not saying that you couldn't do it. But you would be having that Tub full of Wine to calm down after winning that money !
Sorry, you being totally still - can't see it. As I stated once - The Energizer Bunny would be bowing down to you.
Kim - thank you for checking in. So very happy to hear that the storm was kind. Well, kinda nice. Yes, isn't this weather a bit strange. But what awesome news !!!! Oh share a hug to your mom from me. So very happy for all of you.
Tomorrow my daughter in law gets that stint out. Hurray, I honestly believe no I KNOW she will heal by the end of the week when that darn thing is out! she has had it rough, but did go back to work. Thankfully, she has her old schedule back - with Wednesdays off. And she learned if she only took a half does of medication - no side effects and it still stopped the pain. Emma is taking over her Day Care room. She might be small but all attitude. Riker will have his first T-Ball game this Monday. All of us are planning on attending
Miss, glad all is well there. These storms are terrible . We did get a break this weekend, got a lot of outside work done, as usual I over did it. LOL Our nursing and assisted living are gonna open up June 1, I Can't wait! Of course by then I'll have moved to Columbus for our new Granddaughter.
T-Lynn, I couldn't just lay their and float, you're suppose to stay still, relax and fall asleep. My mind for once was calm, no worrying! I NEEDED it. But my body said uhh no! I kept moving my legs did a few stretches, aerobics... it was still relaxing - I quess.
Went thru the attica Sunday am while it was raining pulled out ALL our baby things, took pictures sent to kids, what do we need to keep? Went thru all the baby and kid clothes for sizes and who needs them next.... Got my summer clothes out, moving to Columbus Memorial weekend. Spent the rest of the afternoon evening planting herbs and flowers, trimming lilac bushes etc. Which means we'll either have to mow tonight or Tue. but yep, now they're calling for rain again. Will it ever stop?
I am here. I have been reading along. I have a quick update. I will be back on later to comment but I loved all the stories and pictures.
I spent 6 weeks in San Diego with DIL and grandson for chemo treatment #5 and #6 while sailor was away. They had sold their house and getting ready for move to Chicago. Her doctors wanted him to apply for a "HUMS" package to allow her to stay in San Diego after surgery and finish her treatments at the navy hospital. It went through. His orders were cancelled and he was given temporary orders at Point Loma. He will get new orders in 6 to 12 months.
Their house closes this week and they have to pay for this move. They sold most of their furniture. They sleep Japanese style on the floor. They will buy new. They have a month in an airbnb booked when they thought they were going to Chicago. Everything else is in a 10x10 storage and they will get a 1 bedroom lease until they know when/where they are going.
Her chemo is done. Her surgery was a few weeks ago and all the cancer was gone. Can you believe her surgeon was deployed right before her surgery? Very confusing. She starts radiation soon and will be going for treatments for HER2 until the end of December. Just like my treatment for breast cancer. I guess they can move when the port comes out. Maybe it will be Chicago again. He was away for the 6 weeks training for that job.
My sailor had never heard of this HUMS package.
So nice to see that people are able to visit loved ones again. I was so worried being with my DIL that is immune suppressed and me not being vaccinated yet. I get 2nd shot tomorrow.
Blondie - As I stated the sored "still" just cannot be written - typed - whatever - Next to your name ! No never happen. You being still. OH am I having a chuckle. But I am glad to hear you did relax. We are doing same here with going through the grandkids clothing. Growth spurts have happened.. So my daughter n law has friends to share with . Emma loves ballerina tutus . So non of those will be given away. Hoping not for too much rain for you, just enough to help the plants you planted.
Got rain here. Now its that wonderful damp feeling. Shark the turtle is staying by her hot rock today. And soon I will have her being in a mood. she will be getting her toe nails clipped and her beck trimmed too. I got to find some bing cherries to appease her.
Hi Kim !!!!! what great news. Cancer gone and now being able to stay there for her treatment. No never heard of that HUMS program. But sure glad the doc did! They were so lucky that you could be there for her at that time. I bet your Grandson had so much fun - he had his Grandma all to himself!
Good luck with the second vaccine. Hubby and I did not have any bad symptoms with the second one. Mostly being tired and a real sore arm. Wishing your second one to be a breeze.
And hoping your sailor gets a chance at Chicago again. Yes, being self fish. I live close there and I could finally get to REALLY see and hug you !!! But I do hope for him to get a place / job that will make him happy.
Sorry this is short - got to get ready and pick up grandkids.
Hello Everyone! This group has been quiet. I am thinking everyone is just super busy. We all know Blondie is, without a doubt. My days continue to be on the crazy side. Memorial Day weekend our daughter flew home from Phoenix for a couple of days. She was so excited to get to visit my Mom. On Sunday we had a "shindig" for lack of a better word at my house for everyone to come and see her and look at her wedding pictures. She did not need a shower, and plus she was flying, so gifts would be hard to get home. She did receive a lot of cards, money, and gift cards, but she so enjoyed getting to see everyone. It had been 15 months since she was home. Also having everyone to my house makes it so much easier than her trying to make the rounds to their houses to see them. I was truly exhausted by the time I got her back to the airport and then made it back home. It is a good 2 hour drive from our house to the airport. We were so happy to see her that it makes it all worth it.
I am still having my brothers and sisters to my house to visit with Mom on Sundays and also for lunch. I am taking this coming Sunday off, as I am helping my oldest sister with a baby shower for daughter-in-law at her house, on Saturday and we plan to have Mom there for that. And I really do need a break.
My Mom for the most part is doing good physically. Some days are better than others, mentally. It seems that the phone calls are coming more frequent that she is totally confused and wants me to talk to her and see what I can do, or either can I come up there. This is really tough and I know some of you have been there. We are just really thankful for the good days (and sometimes good hours).
My mother-in-law had a should replacement done last week. She has been moved to our local hospital for therapy as a swing bed patient. The visit rules are still strict here. Hopefully hubs and I can make it this afternoon, if no one else has been there. Only 2 visitors per day can see her.
Summertime has hit us with a vengeance. The past weekend the humidity and temps were almost unbearable. Hubs was trying to paint a set of cabinets, and he said it was awful. Had to take many breaks and drink lots of water. The heat index was 104. This is usually our August weather.
Hurray Miss you checked in !!!! I was getting worried that I got kicked off again. But luckily I am here !!!
Your weekend sounded wonderful. I smiled while reading your entire message. How sweet for your daughter to see everyone - especially her Grandmother. But hearing about the temp ... ! A friend in Arizona has been sharing too, that they are getting the heat early. Wonder if this means you will have an early Autumn ? as for now - keep safe with the weather.
Here, I am finally over my sinus and ear infection. What a wonderful way to start Summer - sneezing and stuffed up. And our weather is strange. Hot during the day and then it drops to the lower 60's to the 50's. then the clouds come in as if to rain. But haha - then they run away. Our farmers here are about to do a rain dance. Hubby only mowed every two weeks, otherwise there would not be a lawn.
sorry gossip here. Family is fine, Emma is taking over her day care room. she might be small, but not her attitude. Riker is having fun at Summer School. REALLY - he is liking it. And now with us open now - we can go to the museum, parks, and events. So I want to try for small vacations around our area.
Heard from sailor - he is busy. But ok. That's it.
Need to get along - yes - Laundry Fairy is here. Actually of late - she moved in.
Miss, I love a good shindig. One day I will travel the country and have a shindig with everyone.
T, glad to hear that you are feeling better.
My DIL is in radiation treatments and still goes every 3 weeks for 2 drug infusions. This will go on until January. Her hair is starting to grow! My sailors command is been great helping him schedule his time to help her with their 6 year old and his work.
Kim, just come on! We can cook up a "shindig" in heartbeat at my house. My niece's husband told her one day that he had noticed if a dog ran through the house, we just stop and have a cookout to celebrate! LOL! Not quiet that bad, but close.
Yay for your daughter-in-law's hair. Bless her! I will keep her in my prayers. So thankful that your Sailor has a great command!
T-Lynn, a week or so ago I thought we were going to have to start an Ark! We got rain for a solid week, and a lot of time it was heavy rain. The lower part of my yard is still mushy. We have not had any rain this week and I don't think we have any in the forecast for the near future. Probably will be ready to do a rain dance also. Just a normal Mississippi Summer. I am happy you are feeling better. Sounds like you are having lots of fun with those grandchildren. I hope you get to take those mini vacations and have lots of fun! My daughter told me that the temps in Arizona was 117 yesterday! I told her I can't even imagine how they are going to be able to deal with August! She said they are breaking records right now.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and Happy Father's Day to all of the Dads! Don't know exactly what we are doing yet for the hubs, but have to get on this, as he is so deserving. Take care and stay cool!
I have been away from the computer for anything but work or bill stuff.
Not sure if I told everyone I became a grandma in November 2020. Well Max, my grandson, just cut his first 2 teeth. Of course I had sent him an infant toothbrush, teething ring and orthodontically-correct pacifier when he was a MONTH OLD. I have been a dental hygienist (still working!) for 50 years so I have to let my grandson benefit from all of this knowledge! My Corpsman and DIL laughed and tried to tell me that he didn't have teeth yet. I reminded them that he would get them and....he did! I haven't met him yet since they are in NE and I am in the Northwest. Going to go visit in October but in the meantime...FaceTime and videos! The video of him trying his first solid food was HILARIOUS! I can't believe this is my son's (he's my baby) first Father's Day. Wow...that went by fast. It was just yesterday my son was 6 months old.
My cats, Tupac and Shelby have been very entertaining of late. There has been a lot of squirrel and bird activity on my patio and Shelby likes to crawl on her tummy and stalk them from inside the house and pounce...at the sliding glass door. she shrugs it off and does it all over again. Tupac just looks at her from the cat perch. You can almost see him shake his head.
Living in Oregon, we have a saying....if you don't like the weather, wait 15 minutes. It's been crazy with heat then rain/hail and now back to heat.
It's been a crazy year for sure. Sending love, light and hugs to all of the Moms :-)
Miss you are right, we've all been busy! Glad everyone was able to get together. She did it the smart way with cards instead of gifts. When we were married, we lived in HI and flew to OH as Mom had arranged everything.
Speaking of Mom, she moved in with us Last week of March. Took her HHG about a month to arrive as the moving company played games, but she had a bed, and our home, so it all worked out in the end, as they say. 3 days b4 she moved, her family doc found an abnormal EKG (inverted T waves) so in a matter of 3 days she had a cardiac consult and cardiac Cath! 60% blockage in the LAD (widow maker) but "not enough" to stent. So she flew down and I had arranged a cardiologist here already who saw her within two weeks. Fortunately, this cardiologist runs an Ornish center. Dean Ornish is a cardiologist who developed a program that is proven to actually reverse cardiac disease (and breast, colon and prostate cancers, and Alzheimers) if followed. The program cannot claim the additional disease reversals, as there isn't documented, research proof at this time. The program includes exercise, plant based diet, support group and stress reduction. And they say the stress reduction may be the most important facet. The inflammation from animal proteins is a major cause of a lot of issues related to above diseases. Anyway, I am trying to do it with Mom. My BIL has sever issues and is successfully converted his household! Still finding the right ingredients and recipes, but there are so many available.
My daughter was able to get to HI to see her Brother at Pearl. They had a great time. Did all the touristy stuff!
We also adopted a 3yo red Doberman. His previous owner had passed away and the dog was stuck in the house, unable to get to him, and without food or water for several days. (This happened about 8 weeks ago.) So he has baggage, but is a tremendous addition to the family. We start training Monday!
Prayers for all and their families, a LOT going on here!! Hugs to all.
Chris…I have known about Dean Ornish for years! His protocols do work. In every wellness continuing education class I have taken, he is referenced. Great to hear you are working on that for your mom.
How my gossip tank was low. Now its getting almost full. Just need Blondie to top it off.
Kim - Will send reiki to daughter in law for all to go smoothly and hair !!!!
Miss- today is the second day of summer right ? Well, it feels like Autumn ! Now fooling. Weird. And hey Pan Moms - Road Trip. Miss said she would host a Shindig. Oh all the hugging we all can do!! Just share the date Miss - I am already packing.
Drama - what a nice surprise !!! congrats on the grandson. I am looking forward to you getting to snuggle him. And you kids don't have to worry - your Grandson will be the only kid with no cavities for his entire live! His Grandma will make sure of that.
HI Chris - gee did you had a roller coaster ride. I hope by now your mom is doing so much better but I have never heard of this Dean Omish. I will have to do some research . But I am happy that your mom is with you. Enjoy. And thank you for the picture , they look like they are having fun.
Sorry this is short - I now have to get my chores done before its time to get grandson off teh bus from Summer School and Grand daughter for Day care. got to get dinner ready for the oven too. with it not being hot today - I am baking. Apple pie is done!
Talk again soon. Many hugs hearing from you all made my day thanks.
Just stopping by. Sounds like everyone is BUSY. Love that there is more Good news then bad !
My newest granddaughter was born June 1st. Lillianna Grace. Both are doing good. Lillianna is Growing way to fast! she left hospital at 7#5oz, next day, less then 24 hours she had her 1st doctor check up she had gained 3oz. before she was 2 weeks old she weighed 10# after she was 2 weeks we quit waking her every 2 hours to feed. (Thank God) Exhausting for me think what it was doing to Mama! she breast feeds. Took my daughter back to the doctor 1 week after surgery to have bandage removed, bruising hmmm. that night she started itching, next day full on rash! almost blisters....? Doctor office said use benadryl pills and gel but WHAT are we treating???? Daddy and Sister are allergic to latex but she never has been. she can't lift anything more then 15# so I ended up taking another week off to stay with her. What are they gonna do fire me?! I came home to try and get caught up at work. Checking with her constantly throughout the day....
Good thing hubby is not working yet because we have been having storms. Corn fields stripped of leaves, stalks broke in half, wheat fields laying down, we lost trees, fire pit thrown over house, stink pipe ripped of house, some of the siding with holes....snapped tomatoes plants, garlic, onions....what a mess! Been ruff getting yard mowed, either flooded or trying to clear trees. one limb about 6 inches in diameter was 32 rows out in the corn field! We were lucky no windows broke and our roof is in tack.
Tahlia, did an overnight by herself with us this weekend, I think she's jealous of Lillianna. LOL
Rash is gone, still a little itchy. Weaning off Benadryl to see what happens.
All I have to do is Look at the pie and I gain weight! Saver a bite of Hubby's.
Please keep the storms. 2 in one week, we're good until at least July. LOL Gonna try to get yard mowed and grass picked up tonight and tomorrow. It's really, really tall! At least it cooled off a bit 70's by day and 50's by night.
I have to work Saturday so trying to decide drive down Saturday after work or Sunday for the day. Hubby says wait till following weekend. Then I reminded him that would be 4th of July weekend. Where did the Summer go? Time is rolling by fast, Yikes!
Yes, agree Blondie- this season of Summer is moving. wonder if that is because we can get out now?
I say drive after work to have more time.
I will do my best to steer those storms away. I don't want you to have anymore worries. Here summer is back. HOT Humid too.
So what to my hubby - son and daughter n law do? Putting up the Play house swing set. If you wonder who is supervising - its 6 year old Grandson. Granddaughter is supervising from the window. But by the 4th it should be up and playing.
No news from sailor - so all must be ok. And we are ok here too.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July. I am a dual citizen of Canada/US and Canada Day is July 1st. For two years I have not been able to celebrate with my brother and sister. The border is still closed! My sister lost her husband, our father and her youngest child (still living with her) from 11/2018 - 04/2019 and now lives alone. Her 2 other children live close and she has 6 children so she is never alone, but it would be nice to see her soon. Dang Covid!
Hair update....DIL hair is now longer than sailors. Grandson needs a haircut so that she can have the longest hair in the house. Actually apartment as they sold the house because they were supposed to move to Chicago end of June. My son took grandson up to the roof to watch fireworks. They saw 4 different exhibits at sea world. They have no idea when he will get orders as HUMS works different than how new orders are selected.
Drama Soul. Congratulations! Welcome to the Grandma club.
T - Navy Moms motto is "No news is Good news"!!!
I am with you Blondie on gaining weight by looking at desserts.
Chris, my sailor and wife have been on a vegan diet for a month now. He has had a lot of breathing issues in San Diego and is feeling a lot better on this. They have recipes. Being Japanese they eat a lot of Tofu and rice. Not much meat. Cutting out dairy has been a challenge. There are a lot of vegan restaurants in San Diego so that helps.
So you are totally correct - No News is Good news.
And you just shared a bouquet of Sunflower Good News.
Yes, I must get back to sending pictures. And yes, I forgot how.
Heard from Alex - he and wife are in Gettysburg. He loves to visit there. And go on Ghost tours. But this time he was a bit bummed. It was Bikers' Week in Gettysburg. He didn't know and he has a Harley! I know his wife Dania is doing all she can to let him know its ok - there is next year and his Ram Truck looks cool too.
It has been a while! Yes it is a busy time of year. My life has been totally crazy for the past few days. My Mom fell last Wednesday morning. They called me at 5:00 a.m. Hubby and I jumped up and took off up there. They told me as we went in the door that she couldn't move her left arm. We took her to the ER and was told she had broken her shoulder. Wanted to send her to Orthopedic. Part of me knew there is nothing that can me done, but part of me was saying what if they can. Long story short, saw Orthopedic, and he said there was no way he could do anything. 2 of my sisters carried her to this appointment so I could come to work. They said it was a very tough day on them and her. She couldn't help them at all getting her in and out of the van, and no one at the clinic would help. One sister has bad back, and one has a bad shoulder. I should have gone and helped. You never know if the choice you make is right or wrong. She has been in a lot pain the past few days, and has had really bad sugar lows. She is a very brittle diabetic, and has not been eating much at all. Plus she cannot tolerate pain meds, so it has been some really tough days for her. Yesterday was much, much better, and we are praying she is beginning to "turn the corner". This morning when I went in to see her, her caregiver met me and told me that asked to go to the dining room this morning and ate a really good breakfast and fed herself! Her confusion has got considerably worse, and we are not sure if she hit her head when she fell or not. I told the ER doctors this, and they never checked anything. They only x-rayed her shoulder and her ribs cause this is what she told them was hurting. They asked me if she hit her head, and I told them we didn't know, but it was a very strong possibility. The next day her cheek started bruising and she would not chew anything on that side. So I feel sure she hit her head as well. Honestly though, I would not take her back to that ER. We have used that hospital many times, and received good care, but it was nothing but a circus full of monkeys that day!
The rest of my family is doing well at the moment and for that I am so thankful.
Work is crazy, and it seems the harder I try to get caught up the worse it gets.
Hubby is staying super busy. Right now he is doing 2 kitchens and he is getting close to finishing both of them. The only problem is he is working for women and we all know that we are notorious for changing our minds. One changes her quite often, so it just extends the job. He is hoping to be done with both in a couple of weeks. He had a birthday yesterday. We took him out on the pontoon Sunday and had a picnic lunch in a cove. He really enjoyed that, and my son was so happy that he wasn't working in the shop.
We had yet another death 3 weeks ago. so now dealing with 3 estates 2 of them are intertwined.
Boss's Mom got hit in the eye by a rock out of a mower, shattered her lens and a tear in other eye been a long 3-4 weeks! ER, Doctors, surgeons, follow ups, emergencies.... Same Boss's son has repeatedly been in trouble.
Nutritionist daughter's pregnancy took a turn for the worse, Doctor's apts. and tests every 3 days and sometimes ER in between. I say take the baby! Lots of calling and re-scheduling that of course lands on me. I hate to answer the phone any more.
Work is Crazy busy, I am working 6 days a week again. And all 4 practitioners have a call list (waiting list)
I'm Exhausted!!! Haven't seen my kids/grandkids since July 25th! I know right but I'm having serious withdraws.
Ex-sailor did bring Tahlia up to see us, but I was gone most the day. We cooked out and introduced her to roasted marshmallows. She fell right to sleep! Sunday morning took her to Denny's and shopping. She ate Everything on her plate. We bought her dot to dots and activity books, mazes etc... to help her with pencil/hand coordination and following instructions. Day Care said they'd let her do this while others nap. If she takes a nap during the day she's up till 11pm! It's been a problem.
Hubby still not working, no unemployment since May 1. but we're okay, that's what I've saved for all these years. House is paid off and only 1 car payment. Insurance is what's killing us! My pain gets better/worse with weather so I'm use to it but lots of storms then dry spell but now more storms everyday. Mowing has been challenging. Garden is a mess.
I'm taking Fri. and Sat. off this week and heading south to see my babies! Community garage sales there on Friday & Saturday. Sunday Baptising Miss Lillianna Grace!!!
So good to see words from Blondie and Miss. Hey sisters - sending Reiki Healing energy to you both ! I know you mentioned your families need - but you two count too. I will also add them in for healing.
Gee- you two have had such hurtful dramas. I know there is a saying that you are given what you can handle - BUT - everyone needs a vacation. So good to see you are doing that Blondie - enjoy time with your babies !!! And Miss - do not blame yourself that you did not go along to help with your mom. I don't feel you made it bad for her and your sisters by NOT being there. Sometimes a rock in ones path will direct one the right way. Take it easy you two and hugs
Here weather is weird - cloudy - no sunny - looks like rain - haha fooling. BUT humidity on gee! I only take the grandkids out when the swing set is in the shade. Then I have to make sure I don't feel pressure on my lungs. Honest the air is heavy and that bothers my breathing. Funny felt trapped being inside because of Covid rules and now it weather!
Otherwise all ok here. Just the normally getting bus routes - lunches and day care and I know next will be " I want to join Cub Scouts. "
I am asking for prayers this morning. We had 2 tornadoes to hit our small town Saturday night. Thankfully we have had no injuries or deaths. But the destruction and devastation is just mind boggling. The first one touched down right behind my brother's house. He has no damage to his home, but lots of trees down. Ironically he owns a tree trimming business. He got all of the trees off of the street, and then headed into town. He and his boys worked late Saturday night. We were out of town and he called me, along with all of my other brothers and sisters. I called my son and daughter-in-law, and asked them to go check on my Mom. They did and called me to let me know she was fine and no damage at all at the facility. The said my Mother-In-Law's house had some damage but she wasn't home. My son then got his tractor and headed into town to help. He worked that night, then all day Sunday. The community has been tremendous pulling together. They are still hauling debris from the streets to a dumping site. We do have several houses that have lots of damage. We also still have a lot without power, and it is HOT here. Turned out that my Mother-in-law did not have any to her house just lots of siding in her yard that belonged to someone else. She did have lots of limbs down and we cleaned it all up Sunday. We also picked up lots of glass and she didn't have a window broken. Our city cemetery has so many huge oaks and cypress trees down all over it. They were probably 100 + years old. It is truly heartbreaking. Thankfully not a lot of the markers were broken, just knocked over. There are still a lot of trees that have to be removed, so they may find more damaged headstones.
My Mom is doing better. She is finally eating better. The regular cook is back. She had been on vacation, and Mom would not eat anything while she was gone. She thought she had either quit or got fired, and they wouldn't tell her what was going on, (She probably didn't ask), so she wouldn't eat!
How scary. And how strange - your MIL home no damage at all and yet, all the debris in her yard. Almost like she was collecting it for an easy clean up.
I know you all are working hard and long to clean up. Please do not over do!. You need to relax a bit so as not to wear yourself out.
So Mom would not eat because she feared she lost her cook. So GLAD things are back to track for her too.
Honest - you have had enough enough of a roller coaster ride.
Will send along positive vibes and healing to your community. Stay safe. hugs
I have a cold. You remember that old fashioned disease where you blow your nose and cough alot! My mask is on when I go anywhere and I keep my negative covid test in my pocket.
Checking in and updating. My life has been crazy. Hubby and I tested positive for Covid on September 9. My Mom tested positive the next day. Praise The Lord we are all okay! She did give me a scare last Friday, but her Home Healthcare nurse was there and jumped right on everything. She is doing so much better and hubby and I have tested negative and we are out of quarantine. I have got to visit Mom at window the last 2 days, and it has made it very happy and I have been over the moon happy! On a crazy note, her phone is not working. We just thought she wasn't answering it, but turns it is not ringing in her room. We think this is related to the tornado damage that we received the end of August. My brother thinks when they restrung downed telephone lines and made the necessary repairs they may have crossed something that messed hers up. It has been reported and now we wait.
We received some very sad news this morning that has totally rocked our small town. Last night there was a very tragic car accident and the life of a 13 year old was taken by a drunk driver. His Mom and sister are in the hospital fighting for their lives. Please pray for this family and I also ask for prayers for all the students and teachers in our Middle School, where he was a student and his Mom and one of his older sister are teachers. These poor kids are just totally devastated.
I hope all is well with everyone and that you all stay healthy and safe!
Thank you for checking in. Sometimes this is my only outlet and talking with BIG people.
Kim - yes I remember that old illness. Emma, Papa and I have it. And ours was caused by allergies. I know this will sound strange - but if we would get a freak frost - then no more allergies. WE were lucky this last Spring - there was a freak frost that did kill the Ragweed. But sadly it killed off many tomato, peppers and other small garden plants. Our poor neighbor had to replant every tomato. today being the first ay of Autumn, it is truly Autumn like out. So nice to have fresh air.
So like I stated - just get a freak frost - kill off the Golden Rod - allergies gone !
Ok - where can you get a NO Covid card? That would be awesome to flash. My allergies symptoms have been hijacked by Covid.. That card sounds handy.
Miss - glad your Covid was controllable and blessings on your mom too. Yes, sending positive vibes to that family and the town. So very sorry.
Wish I had some gossip - all out. Just been trying to be a good Yaya - getting excited about the cooler weather which means I can BAKE ! And wanting to lose all the extra pounds I put on from that lock down. Talk about eating comfort food. Did I ever! funny, after my check up - it turns out I only gain 5 pounds but my clothes say different. And I have to agree with my clothes.
Need to get - have to get grandson off teh bus. And help him get ready to go to a Cub Scout Pack Meet and Greet. I am hoping his parents will let him join and be part of it. Let you all know it that happens.
Hugs
OH - Blessing this first day of Autumn. May you and your family be blessed with a harvest of abundance of anything you need. Hugs
I am alive and well and going to see my grandson (who is 10 months old tomorrw) for the first time in 3 weeks. I will be seeing his parents (my Corpsman and my AWESOME DIL) as well! I am grateful for the options to video chat since we are not on the same side of the country and the many videos of all those new baby milestones but it will be nice to smother him in kisses and hugs, At 21 lbs and 28 inches tall, he's gonna be fun!
I have not been doing any theater, needless to say, but looking forward to being able to audition again in the community theater here. I miss hanging with the peeps in a play. It's another family. Fingers-crossed!
Cottonwoods did me in this year. Weather in the Northwest has not been helpful in dealing with it. In June we had a heat wave with 116 degree heat. No one has AC 'cause it isn't supposed to be that hot here. That was earler this year and I found if I wear a mask when I am out for a walk, I don't seem to have as many issues. I do remember freak frost in Southern Oregon when I lived there many years ago. Just after the cherry tree, plum tree and peach tree blossomed, we had this horrible frost which did in the possibility of fruit that year!
One of my patients today reminded me that in "A Midsummer's Night Dream", the last few days of Summer sometimes appear like Autumn and the first few days of Autumn appear like Summer. We are getting that weather here. 48 degrees in the morning and 86 degrees in the daytime. :-)
May everyone be blessed with good health! These are challenging times and it is good to know y'all are here. Stay safe.
Hi Everyone. One day at a time right?! It has been a bad year for allergies and everyone looks at you and points. Give me a break, red eyes and sneezing. We had lots of rain early, many replantings then dry and Hot! My worst months are April and Sept. but got stretched this year to April-May and Mid-Aug-still dealing with them. Lots of storms also this year. (headaches and pain) Right now lots of rain and flooding, NOT what the farmers want.
Emotions are high at work with mandates and policies and 4 practitioners with 4 different views. I just want them to agree on a policy so I can enforce it! At last office meeting (which I called) I tried to tell them to leave personal feelings and family at home. We have to do what's best for the Office as a whole. One person cannot force things on others. and those who don't care....if we get shut down it shuts down Everyone's business Not just yours! I told them I don't mean to be heartless but I have little ones and old ones too. But that is My responsibility to keep them safe. If I'm exposed (and have been) then I don't visit! I went over a year without seeing my Dad other then front porch to van visits. Everyone has to deal with this Not just our office. I get so tired of them acting up, pouting, crying pointing fingers....UGGG We are Suppose to be Professionals Here For the patients.... Anyhow that is work. I mean all of my children have been exposed and guess what? Not by me, their own work and lives!
Lilianna is 3 almost 4 months old! Growing and changing daily. Such a JOY. Joseph still loves his sister but having emotional meltdowns sometimes, he is 2 ya know. lol Tahlia finally got to see her Father. 2nd. time this year. Stretched himself this time had her for 2 nights. Still no money coming, he hasn't told county where he lives or works. I have all kinds of feelings, locking my lips.
Personal struggling. With hubby still not working, no unemployment since May. Signing up for medicare, trying to decide S.S. or not.... Going to a winery for our 40th Ann. in Oct. Just need to get away for 4-5 days ya know?!
This weekend getting all kids and grandkids together (if they all stay healthy) in Columbus for the Coffee Festival! So looking forward to this. Spending alone time with our Eldest son and DIL on Fri. only seen them twice in the last 3 years. Our dog Jack is sick and on 2 kinds of meds and tropical gel hoping to see an improvement before we leave Friday.
Thank you ladies. It is so good to hear from you and how things are going.
Agree this the last year and this one have been not nice. This crazy roller coaster ride has to up soon. I feel like its been stuck at the very bottom of a hill and all we can do is look up and hope.
Drama - enjoy - enjoy - ENJOY those hugs and spoiling !!! Keep us posted if you do get back on the stage. I can remember we all here had once talked about attending a show that you would be inn. Crazy fun idea - of a Pan Mom Meet and Greet and all of us Moms cheering in the audience for you. Would still love that happen.
Blondie - fingers crossed your work gets a handle on what rules they want to follow. that has to be frustrating. Gee- I didn't realize your hubby still was out of work. I am sorry. Hubby and I took our SS to help ends meet. My job little job is gone. BSA Scout Reach here has been canceled. Sad, part of my wages was all the hugs I got. Wish you a fun weekend with family and I knocked on wood for ALL to stay healthy.
Allergies are still kicking us here. Again I am so stuffed up and clearing my throat. Mine is Golden Rod now.
But at least humidity is gone.
Only new news, grandson joined a Cub Scout Pack. He is a Tiger. Hasn't attended a meeting yet - keep you all posted.
Hey, got to go - time to get grandson off the bus.
Thanks for checking in - it really means so much to me.
Good morning Ladies! It has been a while since I have posted or checked on y'all. My life has been totally topsy turvy. I got a call a week ago yesterday that my Mom was unresponsive. I took off over there. I called my brother and sister who live here, and they met me. By the time we got tested and got inside she had roused up and knew us. She answered our questions and was grinning and smiling when we told her we were so happy to be inside with her. Her nurse told her that we had come to have a big ole party with her and she smiled and said yes. The nurse took all three of us outside to tell us that her BP was very low and looked liked her body was shutting down. When we got back inside, Mom just laid her head back on her recliner and closed her eyes. We thought she was just sleeping. My sister from out of town got there and she tried to wake her and never could. She never opened her eyes or said anything else to us. She passed the next morning at 10:00 with 5 of us with her, along with my husband and my sister-in-law. I am so thankful that she went very easy. She never acted like she hurt at all and for that I thankful. As hard as this has been I am so thankful that I know where my Mom is and that she is not dealing with a broken shoulder, and all of her many ailments that she had here on earth. I find myself thinking what do I need to take her this morning, and I think every time my phone rings it is probably SM calling me about her sugar, BP, or the many things they called me about. I had visited her at her window that morning before work, and she had her nurse to call me at 11:00 a.m. just to chit chat with me. My Mom was my rock and my best friend. All of my brothers and sisters are quite a bit older than I am, and when they all married, it was like I was an only child. I am back at work today. My daughter is actually flying back to Phoenix now. I took several days to spend with her. I know I have many hard days ahead of me, but I also know the Lord has brought me through the last several days and he will get me through whatever is ahead of me.
Hugs Miss. So SORRY to hear of your loss. Yes, your Mom is Celebrating in Heaven, it's those of us that are left here to mourn them and go on living that suffers. My Mom has been gone 16 years now and I still pick up the phone to tell her something or to ask her this or that. But live moves on and some day we will see them again. God Bless you and your family and the care center. Lean on each other, cherish the memories and celebrate her life and what she taught you. I'm glad you all got to be with her and see her, I'm sure it made her day. Tears are healing, just Remember. Hugs
Gentle hugs Miss. I cannot say it any better than Blondie did. And I agree what a wonderful care giver you had for your Mom. But what I thought was so sweet - YOU ALL were there for her. when she left. She had her party and the ones she loved so much - were there. She left happy.
Thank you Blondie, and T-Lynn, for your sweet words of encouragement. I appreciate both of you, more than you know. I know that I have many hard days ahead, but I also know that GOD will see me through each one of them. My Mom was 91 and she had lived a really good and full life. For that I am so thankful, and even though I miss her terribly, I could not wish her back for anything.
Miss, I am so sorry about your mom. It took me a year to stop picking up the phone to tell her about something. I call my sister more now. I think your mom rallied to say goodbye and peacefully let go when you left the room. It is a miracle when that happens.
Getting ready for Thanksgiving as kids are bringing people with them. Juggling demands of work at the same time. Busy. Busy.
as usual been very busy. Our Anniversary get away was a bust. Hubby was sick and it rained the whole time! Cabin on a private lake, couldn't kayak, fish, paddle boat, no hiking, no midnight strolls, no hot tub... We did get a couple hours of sunshine, I built a fire in the fire pit and cooked Everything up so we just snacked whenever all weekend ( Friday-Monday). Even the drive was miserable, hard to see beautiful colors (leaves) thru the rain and fog. Did get to see some fantastic storms, rain dance on the lake and some reflections in the lake.
Sept./Oct. was bad for my allergies. Hubby got into mold at work, that's what got him so sick in Oct. And since our getaway I've worked 6 days a week! No let up in site, my parttime help decided to be a foster parent. Very Proud and Happy for them and the children they will help. We did our stint and don't regret any of it. They are going through the training , so I'm filling in for her. I told Doctors get busy hiring! They've done nothing yet!
My veteran and granddaughter did come to visit last weekend. Tahlia wanted to rack leaves. LOL It was too cold she wouldn't stay outside long enuff. Wouldn't even take a walk in the woods to put pumpkins out of the wildlife. She even brought hers from home and school. They did go see my eldest son and his wife for Boo at the Zoo and had a pumpkin carving party. SO HAPPY they are getting out!!
this is short. I have a sinus infections and cold. Its my gift from flying out to Virginis Beach Virginai to be with Alex. We were able to go! But i never will fly out the day before a holdiay again! I am driving!
It was a great visit and I will share details later. I just wanted to get here and check to see if any of you checked in. Yippee you did!
Sorry blondie your special weekend was not all you wanted. And Kim - it sounds like you were busy.
Hey, chat later I need my tea and honey and I bet I am speeling wrong. I canb't see.
T-Lynn hope you're 100% by now. Flying while sick is NOT pleasant!
Just a quick Hi. My eldest decided he wanted to come home for Christmas, it's been years! Usually we do all the kids seperately because of travel and schedules. But all the other kids decided they want to see Michael and Carrie and have an old fashion Christmas at home. Great - when?! This coming weekend. OH!! So we put up a Christmas Tree quickly and started decorating, shopping.... ! No idea how many I'm feeding but got a 20# turkey we're spatchcock cooking with veggies under it. parsnips, turnips, brussel sprout , carrots, sweet potatoes... Then making a Ham loaf, relish, cheese tray, shrimp,....white cake with berries.
ages 6 months to 86! I'll let you know how it turns out.
Hello all! I was going to say I have been busy, but after reading Blondie's post, nah, I feel like I have been on vacation compared to her. I need to clone her and bring the clone to my house! LOL! Girl you wear me out just reading what you are cooking!
T-Lynn- I sure hope you are feeling better. Take care of yourself.
I have almost all of my Christmas decorating done. I have about decided if I don't get it up tomorrow, I am not putting it up this year. My hubby reminds me that what goes up, must come down!
Our daughter will be home on the 26th, and we will do our family Christmas when she gets here. Our daughter-in-law works at a hospital, and she always volunteers to work Christmas Day, so the ones with little ones can be home to do Santa with their children. We always do our Christmas when she can be with us.
My hubby has been busy at our house. He tore our deck down and built a new one, and covered this one. The old one was not covered and it was brutal to sit outside on it in July and August. He is also going to screen it in. We have had rain this week, so he moved inside and gutted a bathroom. He is building a walk-in shower in it. He has really bad knees and was told by his Dr. about 5 years ago that he needs both of them replaced, but the Dr. told him he would let him decided when we wanted it done. Hubby has reached that point. He has an appt. in January. He wants to do both at the same time. We'll see what the Dr. suggests. He wants to have this bathroom completed so it will be easy for him to get in and out of the shower.
Busy day at work, so I must get back with it. I hope you all have a great weekend, and for the ones with the severe weather threat, please be safe!
Blondie
Miss hope you're staying safe! Crazy weather
Stay safe and Smile

Happy Friday Everyone!

HI
Well, need to get - company coming over.

Work is ramping up, gotta run.
Hope ya'll have a great week.

HI
Sorry this is short - got to get ready and pick up grandkids.
hugs all

Hi Any one here of late?

Mississippi Mom
I hope all of you are well and cool!
Take care!

HI
Take care - hugs

Hello Pan moms.

Hi All,
I have been away from the computer for anything but work or bill stuff.

Chris, Forever Ray's Proud Mom

LOL

HI
Well, Blondie sure did top of my gossip tank!
Sorry to hear about all the damage to your home and fields. Yes, very happy to know you are safe and the house held together!.
We are to have thunderstorms through Sunday in our area and naturally they are coming your way Blondie.. So heads up warning.
But what a sweet blessing !!! Sweet picture.
How is daughter doing with rash? Benadryl work ?
Only news I have is - you know I brag about loosing 2 pounds and celebrated with eating a piece of pie?
Note to self - do NOT celebrate loosing weight by eating a piece of pie! You gain it back!
Have a good day all hugs

Blondie

T-Lynn
HI
Yes, agree Blondie- this season of Summer is moving. wonder if that is because we can get out now?
I say drive after work to have more time.
I will do my best to steer those storms away. I don't want you to have anymore worries. Here summer is back. HOT Humid too.
So what to my hubby - son and daughter n law do? Putting up the Play house swing set. If you wonder who is supervising - its 6 year old Grandson. Granddaughter is supervising from the window. But by the 4th it should be up and playing.
No news from sailor - so all must be ok. And we are ok here too.
Wish all a good week. hugs.

Happy Fourth of July fellow Navy Pan Moms !!!!

Kim
Keep the pictures coming.

HI Kim !!!!
Oh does my heart good to see your message.
You have been on my mind for days.
So take care - Hugs !!!!!

Hey T-Lynn and all Pan Moms,
It has been a while!
Hope all is well.
Take care and stay cool!

Just a quick HI.
Keeping you all in my Thoughts and Prayers!

HI
Need to get along - take care all
I feel you Kim.

Good morning!

HI Miss
SO happy to hear you and your family are ok !
Stay safe. hugs

Good afternoon everyone!

HI Kim and Miss
Hugs

Checking in...
Stay safe.
BIG HUGS....

Work has started to get busy, gotta run.

Hi Blondie and Drama !!!

Mississippi Mom

Hugs

HI
Hey Pan moms - are you here ?

Kim
I'm here.
Busy. Busy.

Morning all
as usual been very busy.
Work just got busy. Have a Great Day
Thank You to all the Veterans!!!

Mississippi Mom
