Hi. I haven't heard from my son in 2 weeks but when he left he was scheduled for submarine electronics. He graduates 4/30/2010 and then goes to Groton, Conn for A school. When does your boyfriend graduate? What ship/division is he on? I am lucky, I live only 2 -3 hours away from Groton, so it shouldn't be as hard as Boot camp has been. I can't stand the lack of contact!

My son just called! I can't beleive you mentioned to boat to Groton. I just got off the phone with my sister who lives in Farmingdale and she wants to go visit him in Groton and I said it might be quicker by ferry and we were going to look it up. Where on LI do you live. I grew up in East Meadow. You are lucky he called so soon. I bet you'll get another call within a week or so. Is he calling your home or cell? I made my son call my cell and since he left it has been surgically attached to me. It is so easy to miss a home phone call, but you can keep the cell with you at all times. As for stamps, my son has the book I sent him with, then they had to take a book when it came time to get their supplies and he somehow ended up getting another book. Mind you 3 books of stamps---one letter home. LOL! He said he has written 4 letters and he will be mailing them this Sunday. They are so busy he said. Even when they have down time on Sundays, they still have to use that time to polish their shoes, reinforce buttons on clothing, do ironing etc. So be patient. You are almost 1/2 way there! Stay strong!

OMG, I am laughing so hard. 50 letters?? And I thought I was writing to much!! I'm going to have to step up my game! Actually, you are keeping his spirits up and that is a great thing! Now the question remains...who will keep our spirits up??

I got my second call from my son Chris on Friday night. He seemed so much better than the first call. I can't wait till the next call. Making our plans to go to Chicago for graduation on May 7. I heard the ceremony is just so wonderful. How is your sailor?

OH, wow that is great. I am glad to hear they are both doing well. What is a zone inspection. I have so many questions to ask him. I am so excited. We are flying out on 5/6 (my birthday) what a wonder gift to see him. we are staying at the Ramada Inn where the meet and greet will be. What is your boyfriends name?

I still havent heard from Chris in two weeks I hope he calls this week end. No letter today either. I wonderm if he got his orders. We are flying out of Lauguardia on May 6 in the morning and coming home sunday morning. I just can't wait to see Christopher. You must be really anxious to see your boyfriend.

yes hopefully we will hear something this week-end. I am sure you must miss Anthony alot. Before you know it we will see them. I will let you know if I hear from Chris. I hop e you hear soon. Hang in there

Hi Stephanie, I got a letter too. He also told me about liberty for week-end. We are flying back on Sunday at 12:30 though. Thought he would be leaving on saturday. Now I feel bad can't be there all of Sunday, but there are 6 of us flying out and our flight cannot be changed or 150.00 extra fee per ticket. cannot afford to pay that. Maybe we can take him out to breakfast sunday am before we fly back to New York. I really hope he understands. we will have all friday after grad and saturday so we can make the most of our time together. He seems so happy and excited and the best thing for me is that he knows he made the best decisision to join the Navy. Are you going to be able to stay for for the whole weekend? Not much longer. I still hope I get a call soon. I will keep you posted. So glad you heard from Anthony. Talk to you soon

Hi, How do we know what time we will get the call on 4/30. I wonder id they will call us once more before 4/30 to let us know what time. I am so excited and I just can't wait to see Chris. This is going to be the longest two weeks.

Hi, I am happy you heard from Anthony. Oh I wonder if Chris will call today. they must be glad that was the last shot. I am sure that they are happy they are near the end of training. I haven't gotten a call from Chris since good friday which was I think 4/2. Thanks for the information. I will let you know if I hear from Chris. Two more weeks yipee.

Thanks, I will be at work till 5:00 that day, I hope when he calls it is at night or he calls my cell phone. I just can't wait. have a nice week-end

Nothing yet Steph....it's all dependant on if she can do the run for her assessment. I hope she calls me and lets me know something. The poor kid is a hot mess!!!!
