A little about me:
My daughter just recently enlisted. I come from a long line of Navy men. One of my cousins is currently serving as is one of my nephews.

But...I am now a proud NAVY MOM!
I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
It was hard at first...she pushed me because she is only 17. Biggest reason is that I wanted to make sure she was joining for the right reason. I don't think I've ever seen her so gun-ho and grown-up about anything else in her life. We've started working out very early in the morning together to get her ready for boot camp. It's been a roller coaster but a great ride so far.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi Faith!  Thanks for the add.  Just remember - when you are off crying in your office I am probably doing the same. :)  So feel free to come on here and drop me a line - we can be big bawl babies together.  People will say it gets easier - I don't know that easier is the right word - it does get different - in a good way.  I guess your normal changes to a new normal - but how lucky are we to have such awesome kids.  Kids that we don't want to see leave the house! :)  Take care!!!

    FaithA,

I see you joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!!  We are a friendly, caring group of moms always willing to listen and support.  Please feel free to jump in and join our chats!!  We like to discuss everything from our sailors to our jobs, weather, whatever.  It's also a great place if you want to yell, scream, vent, cry - - there is no judgment involved!!!  Brag about your sailor but also tell us when you are hurting because you miss her so!!!  You and I have quite a bit in common.  I used to live in Mentor and I worked in downtown Painesville - - right across the street from the jail!!!!  And when I was in the Navy I was an OS also.  I always like seeing one of our girls in that rate!!  Looking forward to getting to know you and your sailor!!  Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!
