Married working mom with 2 sons.. the youngest will turn 18 next week and graduate high school in June. He's already signed up and will leave on Oct 26th for basic training!
Hi Holly - How you doing? Was on my page and going threw all my 'friends' pages. I was reading your post about the empty nest. My youngest just graduated in June also (we homeschooled), but she is my last to leave. She's getting married next month on the 8th! I'm not so sure that I'm ready for this...though we really are happy for her and love our soon to be son-in-law, who is a really nice young man.
I'm a mom of four and the oldest is the one in the Navy. He is 25 and is currently in WA state....a looooooooooooooong way away from home. I missed him allot. He just graduated BC July 1st and was home on a 10 day leave last month before heading to his first command station.
They sure do grow up so fast don't they? Everyone used to say, 'Enjoy them while they are little because they grow up so fast!" They sure we're kidding, but I don't have any regrets as I have many sweet memories to hold in my heart as a mom. I loved being a mom from day one to now!
I have a 23 year old daughter in Bible college in Ohio, not too far...and a married 21 year old son in FL.
All my 'big' events were this year!! :) Greg Jr. enlisted in Feb. & left for BC May, Beth graduated HS June, Greg Jr. graduated BC July, Matthew married in July, Tray left for her first year of college in Aug. Greg came home in Augs. and Beth is marrying in Oct....it's been a crazy, busy, fun summer!
Boo Steeler country...LOL. Thanks for the note...yes tonight is my daughter's last night at home...and she won't be. She is having dinner with us but spending the night with her friend. I have taken tomorrow off of work and so we will have all day tomorrow to hang out and just be together. We are having lunch at our favorite place, Olive Garden. Then my husband and I will take her to dinner tomorrow night in downtown Cleveland somewhere.
He left today. His flight left houston about an hour ago. Ready for my phone call. How are you doing? I dont think it has hit me yet. I was picking up around the house and starting to go in his room, but changed my mind.
