My daughter leave for Great Lake to boot camp on July 17, 2013. She will be the first female in our family to join the military. We are so proud of her. I am a mother of 3 girls. Kiaira is the middle child and she is ready for her journey with the United States Navy
I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Waiting to leave for Boot Camp
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
The United States Navy is a strong family and have an incrediable bond.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
Thanks for the friend request. We are just beginning the process of making the final decision to join. My daughter Kennedi is a Senior this year in high school and is about 90% sure about the Navy. I would love to talk with you about the whole process leading up to the final decision. I am trying to not influence her decision.
I see you joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!! We are a close, friendly, supportive group of Moms and look forward to getting to know you and your sailor. I see you are new to N4Ms and your daughter is in boot camp now? Please feel free to jump in and join our chats. You can ask any questions you may have, talk freely about your feelings, fears or concerns, or just chat about life. We are all in different phases of our daughters Naval careers and we are always there for each other!!! Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!!
No dear NavyMom, you are NOT overdoing it!!!! Many moms feel the same way - terrified that they will miss that call. Forwarding your home calls to your cell phone is just what you need to do!!!!
It is hard to always keep it together for other children who are still at home when one leaves for bootcamp. I had twin girls and the youngest of the two went right out of high school. Her sister choose to go to college. I tried not to show the college daughter how hard I was handling her sister leaving because I knew she was having her own hard time being separated from her twin for the first time in their lives!!!! That's why we are here - - to help support you so you can help support not only your sailor, but your other children as well. Both of my daughters ended up serving. The college girl is now an Officer!!
Oh, and I'm with the Moms of Daughters 2 group. Long story as to why there are two groups with almost the same name, but I do think we are a much more active group. Stop by and let us know how you are doing!!!!!!!
