    Welcome to NAVYforMoms.com!

Head to “Settings” on the main page right away to add a profile image (no last names visible, please) and complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.

This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you, and we look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.

Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!

    Hi JBsmom!

  • lemonelephant

Thanks for the friend request. I look forward to sharing this journey with you. If there is ever anything I can help with, then don't hesitate to ask. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

  • VenturaMari

Me too! I am so excited for our kids! Are you going to PIR

  • lemonelephant

I sent changes in a PM. PM's are found in the Inbox in the upper left.

Divisions 299 and 300 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 (BST) together, so look for others with loved ones in either division. Write to your recruit and ask when Battle Stations-21 (BST) will be so you will know when to expect the "I'm a Sailor!" call.

There are no groups for just those with loved ones with the Aviation Structural Mechanic (AM) rating, so join Pensacola, FL A School: NAS and Corry Station and Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola and check out Airman Family and Friends

The Rating Information Card for AM can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/am.pdf. (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.)

Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR, but may fly out on Sunday due to flight availability issues. Plan to leave on Sunday if you are able. See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Love getting letter from my son! He was one of the kids to get his wisdom teeth pulled on the 22nd, that's why he couldn't call. Makes me feel better. He isn't to fond of SIQ....I don't think he minded getting a lot of sleep though. He still hasn't gotten any of the letters I have sent to him. Hopefully he will get them soon. 4 more Fridays and a wake up!

  • VenturaMari

I am hoping so too! Just have to be able to hold it together when he calls. I am sure there will be some tears, but I think I am allowed...lol

My son has been away from home before. As they were growing up, I found different camps for them to go away to. Last year the day after he graduated he drove to Texas and Arkansas visiting people. He was gone for 5 weeks. But I could call and talk to him or text him. He wasn't on BC island with no outside communication. So sorry your son is so homesick, but it will get better I am sure. He is not alone and the other peeps in his unit will help him out. Just remind him he is half way through and 4 weeks will fly buy in an instant! Plus I am sure they are working hard getting ready for BST! Then it is PIR and just like that he is done! Then off to school for a different adventure!
