OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Since you have a Sailor, you can change "At Boot Camp now" above to “Enlisted.”

If you get an error message, then look at the area/s in the error message and unclick all of the choices in the area/s and make choices closer to the question/s. Some choices may have changed since you joined.

My son has been away from home before. As they were growing up, I found different camps for them to go away to. Last year the day after he graduated he drove to Texas and Arkansas visiting people. He was gone for 5 weeks. But I could call and talk to him or text him. He wasn't on BC island with no outside communication. So sorry your son is so homesick, but it will get better I am sure. He is not alone and the other peeps in his unit will help him out. Just remind him he is half way through and 4 weeks will fly buy in an instant! Plus I am sure they are working hard getting ready for BST! Then it is PIR and just like that he is done! Then off to school for a different adventure!

I am hoping so too! Just have to be able to hold it together when he calls. I am sure there will be some tears, but I think I am allowed...lol

Love getting letter from my son! He was one of the kids to get his wisdom teeth pulled on the 22nd, that's why he couldn't call. Makes me feel better. He isn't to fond of SIQ....I don't think he minded getting a lot of sleep though. He still hasn't gotten any of the letters I have sent to him. Hopefully he will get them soon. 4 more Fridays and a wake up!
