Welcome aboard N4Ms tammy ruth, Sure wish I had known about this site when my son entered the Navy 4 years ago. I remember going to the PIR at Goose Creek. It was the first time I put my feet in the Atlantic Ocean since I am from OR. Hope you enjoy this group. They have really supported me. My son deployed recently and even though I have supported our troops daily through another group for about 5 or so years, I did not hold up as well as I thought when his sub deployed. Thankfully, the support from N4Ms got me through the tears more quickly. The school your son/daughter is in is very intense and many don't pass. My son spoke of sometimes having to go without sleep at night in order to be ready for tests and such. He was disappointed to see people leaving but so proud to make PIR. You can be very proud of your son/daughter as it takes intelligence, self-discipline and integrity just to get into the nuke school. If you don't receive many letters, know that they are just very busy studying and testing and it is worth their time and effort. My son preferred to call when he had time rather than write because they do so much reading and writing for school. I was grateful he had a cell phone. When JessicaBSailor Mom sends you websites to read or suggestions, they are worth your time. Blessings,
