Yes, I am proud of him, frustrated at times, but in 4 years I have not had to worry about where he was going to be...He has still not been to sea! He signed up to see the world and he has seen Chicago, Charleston, Norfolk (about one week) and then NH. I have been able to spend time with him, Birthday (celebrated with grad from Boot), Thanksgiving & Christmas the first year, A school grad, along with seeing him the day his cousin graduated from College of Charleston, and Power School grad, Thanksgiving and Christmas the 2nd year, along with grad from prototype and the drive home. Christmas and 4th of July the third year. Christmas/New Year's and one day a couple of weeks ago this year. I can't complain and have become spoiled...The next 4 will be a little more difficult!
LOL - You can never ask me too many questions Mimi!
Our son is stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii --- not a bad place to be for a single sailor! He is loving the beach and hiking there. He is an Aegis FC so his C school was in VA and took about eight months, he was honor grad for his class so he got the first pick of orders and the choices were...one set of orders for Hawaii and four sets for Norfolk ships. Nick has now been in about 2.5 years but the first 18 months were spent at A and C schools, he has been with his ship a year now but is on his first deployment.
Anxious to hear what your ET gets for C school - they usually get their ship orders at the same time so when an ET pulls his orders at GL ------- it really outlines the next few years of his life! Let us know if you have any questions - really!
It's me again...Mimi. I apologize for confusing Nick with another sailor who is now stationed in Italy. As far as I am concerned, Italy or Hawaii would be great places to be"ordered." You must be so proud of Nick! I don't know him and I'm proud of him!
