Hi, yeah, he may sleep the whole weekend! I was thinking the same thing. My son does BS21 on Monday and so I have to wait for my call! I am going crazy waiting, ahh, I'll make it! I hope you are doing well. :)

The train ticket you buy online where you print off or by phone (they email to you or you may be able to request picking up at ticket window with code or something) isn't really a ticket, but has bar code that you redeem for your train ticket before boarding train at an Amtrak Quik-Trak self-service ticketing kiosk or you can present at any Amtrak ticket window. After I thought about what I said as "ticket", I didn't want you or your son to be confused. When you print it will explain just as I said above, give your train schedules, and explain baggage and such. Please be aware that like any transportation businesses there may be delays so have a Plan B. Example: KJ was let out of GL for Christmas way earlier than he or we thought and would have had to wait 8-10 hrs. at train station b/f leaving on his train. He was able to change time at the station and catch an earlier train with his ticket. Plan B came in a real hurry when his train was delayed to take him from our area to Chicago by 5.5+ hrs. and by the time he would get in Chicago and back to base he would have been late. A BIG no no. We were lucky we didn't have to drive him back, but got him a plane out of small airport to Chicago. We are not around large airports. Actually, the plane was as cheap as the train. A bus may be somewhat cheaper, but takes 2 to 3 times longer to get to destinations usually.
