A little about me:
"I am 25/15...:-) first time Navy Mom..I am married to my High School Sweetheart for 17yrs and counting. We have two beautiful daughters SR Kiara, 18 and Kiyra 15. I'm an Assoiciate Minister at my church where I serve in many capacities, but my most enjoyable one is singing in the choir and working with the young people. Mr. KppNavygirl is the Asst. Chairman Deacon, and he too wear many hats. We are excited about the challenge our oldest daughter has taken by joining the Navy. We feel it will be beneficial for her and allow her to better her education, travel the world and support her country. We also like to take family trips to share quality time with our kids and to establish everlasting memories. I love interior decorating, meeting people and singing. With all of these things noted I must note that I am excited and extremely nervous....ha-ha but I am prayerful for my daughter and other troops in all branches....

Hi there, I am staying at homewood suites. It has fridge and also a hot breakfast in the lobby. I booked the room with the flyer that came with the form letter. It has a code for Navy families. With the discount it came to about $75 a night. Hope that helps. It looks like a nice hotel. With the fridge we can have food in the room and the breakfast they offer it seemed like a good deal. Look over those brochures we received, each hotel has a special code. Hope this helps and Good Luck!

Hi KppNavygirl. Hope you had a wonderful Easter! Since my son left on 3/9, I have been wondering who boot camp is hardest on, the recruits or the moms! I've come to the conclusion that it is definitely the moms!! :*) I was at one of my worst moments since Dylan left and found myself at this website looking for something, anything, to make me feel better. Reading the posts and discussions helped me to realize that I am not the only one going through this. That understanding helped lessen the feelings of helplessness and lonliness. Since then, I have been on the site every day, reading suggestions and trying to share my own, knowing that we are all going to get through this, both us parents and our children. We'll get through it because we all have each other for support. =)
