    Hi,  We live pretty close to McClellan.  It's closed now and has turned into many things, including an Auto Mall, shopping and restaurants.

    Been quite a few yrs since I've commented on here. Son Kyle went from boot camp at Great Lakes in 2011 to Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio for Corpsman Medical Training. Went to Portsmouth VA and was working at the Naval Medical Center for about 3 yrs. Was then sent out to Camp Pendleton for field training then Miramar (former Top Gun) San Diego to work with a Marine Air Squadron. Fortunately he went overseas once to Jordan for 2 wks. But finshed out his 5 yrs there in S.D. I was able to visit him for a wk before he got out. It was a wonderful time! He got out this past April and is now enrolled at IU studying Athletic Training. Very proud of my young man! I feel the Navy did a wonderful job with him and gave him the guidance and confidence to make good choices in his life. Thank you Navy! Best of luck to the rest of you Navy moms and dads out there! HOO YA!

    SailorMomCarla- my ex and I were stationed at McClellan back in the late 80's-early 90's. My ex was Air Force. My son Kyle was born in 1991at Mather AFB! An auto mall?? Lol
