- I am on kidney dialysis. Have 2 wonderful boys, ages 16 and 17. My 17-year-old signed on February 1, 2011. He heads to boot camp on Oct. 4th. I have been married for 22 years. I just want to give the best support I can to my new Navy son and participate as much as possible to stay in touch and informed as to what is happening.

- The Navy allows the enlistee to more time off than what I expected. I didn't think I would be able to communicate with my son very often. Learning that I will be able to comforted me greatly. Also, the levels of education that he can pursue are great; plus the benefits.

- It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
