A little about me:
I am the Mother of three sons who all have been in the military. My soon to be Sailor being the youngest. He made this choice and I am so proud of him. He left for Boot Camp on May 8th 2012 and I have done well up to now, today I am melting down, i havent heard from him, and so miss him.

I received the nice letter of the Navy telling me all of the information on what to expect, and my son's address. They seem very professional and I like that.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

    Beyond boot camp is there similar support groups?

    The website I found says:

    Pensacola -- 44 calendar days

    Pensacola -- 8 calendar days (only selected recruits will attend this course)

    for AME.  I don't know how up-to-date this is.  Yes, some rates have groups.  Some schools have groups. Once he gets to his duty station you may be able to find a group for his ship.
