Glad to hear your son is doing well. My son has been in Charleston for 2 1/2 years. Last month I helped him finish packing and cleaning (the Navy moved his stuff) and two weeks ago he headed to Officer Candidate School in Rhode Island. He's been there 2 weeks - it's been a tough 2 weeks. I think he thought it would be more like boot camp but it is alot tougher than he expected. I missed his phone call today. So we are counting down to graduation on Nov. 13. His wife is working in South Korea, so he can't talk to her on the phone, only letters and eventually e-mail. The no contact thing is really hard! How's school going? I start on Tuesday. I think my hours will be 8:30-12:30 which I really like, even though I don't always leave at 12:30. Have a good week and stay in touch!

Hi Kathy: Glad to hear you enjoyed graduation and sounds like you got to enjoy a little bit of Chicago. We didn't do much when we were there - January with a high of -3. We drove through Chicago. Going back at Thanksgiving would probably be fun. Isn't graduation amazing? How long will your son be in Chicago? Did his wife get to go with him? Our son graduates Nov. 13 from officer training. We are planning on going to Rhode Island for it. It's been pretty difficult, but so far he has made it. I think he gets to come home for Thanksgiving! Hope school is going well for you. Take care!
