Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
Trust
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
If you know of anyone in Boot Camp, or Leaving Soon for Boot Camp, go to http://callsforrecruits.org/ and Get FREE phone cards for them to use. Loved ones or the Recruits should NOT have to pay for phone calls from Boot Camp…and now they Don't!!
I'm not on this site too much, but I saw that you were a new member and I wanted to welcome you. You are so young and so far from home, and that must be very hard for you. Where in CT do you live? I live in Wethersfield, which is just south of Hartford. I haven't met anyone from this group in person yet.
I am a volunteer with Molly's adopt A Sailor ( a grp. that sends care packages and notes to our deployed every month). I have packing parties with my neighbors and friends, but would like to get together with some CT Navy moms/ spouses in the future. Maybe you would to join us sometime. It's a lot of fun and a good way to meet other people whose family members are in the Navy. We socialize and work on sending some goodies to adopted group for the month. Hey, you never know, it might your husband's ship or location.
By the way,my son Erik is in Navy ROTC, and is currently a 3C midshipman and a junior studying at Boston University.
I hope things get easier for you... Let me know if there is anything I can help you with as you adjust to living in CT. I 've spent my entire life here.
If I host a packing party, I will invite you to come and meet some other Navy moms/wives.
Are you living in the Groton/New London area? I'm about 45-50 minute away. I do go by there to go to Rhode Island to the beach, maybe we can meet up for coffee some time.
