The Navy offers opportunities that...
My father was in the Navy and served in Vietnam for 4 yrs. I just know that he lost a lot of good in the service and being away at war make him a different person when he came back. I have a lot to learn yet about what my son wants to do and the job that MEPS has already given him this week. I have learned that I will behind his decisions though no matter what.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Well, my son has been now gone for boot camp 2 weeks this Tuesday. Still no mail from him and wasn't expecting any yet...but my family keeps asking if i've heard from him. I think they are more anxious sometimes than i am myself. Although i am quite curious how things are going with him. Can't wait until August to see him again.

WOOHOO..got my first letter from Trevor yesterday. Was short and bitterly sweet. He is actually homesick. He has NEVER been homesick all the times he has been gone for the summer. In a way makes me feel good that he didn't have it that bad back here in small town Kansas. He wanted to just quit and get on the next plane home and get a full time job and go to college in the fall like most of his friends. But he has made a choice and is going to stick it out. I keep praying he will see it thru. I know it will get better. 2 weeks down..6 more to go.
