Hey, how's it going? What is the best way that you've found to mail our guys things? Both times I've sent stuff "overnight," once via mail and the other via UPS, it didn't get to J until the 3rd day. Pretty disappointing.

Well, I've sent his cell phone twice and neither time was a good experience, LOL! So, I don't have any advice either.......apparently there's a building where their name is put on a blackboard when they have a package arrive so I know my son checks this blackboard when he's expecting something from me. But when I've sent something "overnight" (which I did with his cell), a couple of days were added on "top" of that. One of the other Sailors told my my son that mail to them was first re-routed to somewhere else.....yikes, who knows? I know it ultimately gets to him. :o)

Hi Linda, Riston graduated Wednesday (the 24th) about 10am and was flying out of Pensacola by 3:45pm that afternoon!!! He had packed his bags the Sunday before - yes, he too was ready to be done with Pensacola.

However, to be fair, it wasn't so much as getting away from Pensacola, BUT the NEED for GIRL GERMS for a few days!! He bypassed visiting us to see his girl!?!

Riston turns 20 on Tuesday, March 2nd and arrives San Diego on Thursday the 4th. The first travel day doesn't count, so I think that works out that he took 6 days. I have heard that depending on their circumstances, they might have up to 10 days available before reporting? (Now, after Tuesday, I won't be able to say "I have 5 teenagers!")

My husband Jon, and I drove Riston and 2 other sailors back to Pensacola (from Wisconsin) after Christmas break, and then spent 5 days there, it was cold, but the beach was beautiful and the museum amazing.

Have you had a chance to visit with Steven since he left?? I'm sure it will be nice to have him closer to home in a couple weeks :) Hopefully, if we can get things to work out, we will try to visit Riston the end of April or beginning of May.
