waryrpryncs - I just saw your post on the main room chat but I also had a notification that you had joined the BC Mom group - so I wanted to stop by your page and welcome you to the group. I am one of the seasoned moms, as we call ourselves, that sticks around and helps to answer questions on that group page.

Be sure to scroll down past the wealth of information on that page, then past the discussions and you will come to the comment wall. That is the best place to post on this site.

It looks like you have found some information already. During Covid with lots of set backs the form letters were taking longer to arrive but I think they are back to about 3rd to 4th week, maybe even earlier.

Be sure to sign up for Informed Delivery with the USPS.

Welcome!! Please read my blog to give you an idea of what the first few weeks may look like.. Welcome to the Navy... Everything will be ok!  The First part are some things to do before your SR leaves IF you Can, It’s NOT ESSENTIAL! Up and to the Left is a link to all the Navy Lingo! It is titled Navy Speak and you can find it here. We are here to get you through the “Great Silence” of the next 4 weeks (ish) and the 10 weeks of BC (ish). You will come to learn that No News Is GOOD News and everything is Needs of the Navy. You life will be Hurry Up and Wait and it’s ok to make plans but they are subject to change until after they have happened so it’s best to embrace the Motto: Semper Gumby!! (Always Flexible!!)
