FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Great advise I thank you so much, My two sons will enjoy the cards, it's the first time they separate, they are 19 and 14 myy youngest is in trying to cope with the situation but happy for his brother, thanks again.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ACCEPTING MY REQUEST. AFTER READING THE BLOGS AND OTHER MOM THAT WERE GOING THRU THE SAME AS I WAS. MADE ME FEEL NOT SO ALONE.

     I WILL CHECK OUT THE LINK FOR THE PHONE CARDS. I HAVENT HEARD FROM MY DAUGHTER BUT ONCE. THE FIRST NIGHT SHE GOT IN HER CALL DROP AND WE HAD TO WAIT A BIT, THRU HER LETTER AND HER NEXT CALL WAS TO HER DAD. I KNOW HER DAD AND I WONT BE ABLE TO MAKE HER GRADUATION ON JULY 13 2012, SO IF I CAN GET PHONE CARDS TO HER BEFORE THAT DATE WOULD BE AWSOME , SO WE CAN ATLEAST TALK THE DAY OF HER GRADUTION.

wow. That is good to know.  I got him a card but he hasn't called.  I know he loves me so I am not sure why.  Is it hard to get to the phone in boot camp?
