For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I just wanted to share photos of son;s last promotion to Commander. He has been in service Since July2, 1997. What a Joy to have been on this Journey of a lifetime - his career in the US NAVY. Not Bad he said "for a kid who use to drive grain trucks in and near a tiny village of 45", Faith, MN - 3 hours south of Winnipeg. I am truly honored to have been included in and on his journey. The day of the promotion, I swore I would not CRY- i oh tried so very hard to keep it all together, and not embarrass hi with mom crocodile tears. Plus I had on Eye makeup!
Well I was standing, up against a big square post, kinda hiding, cause the tears began to flow! I could not wipe them fast enough, and I only had a couple of tissues. Well most everyone present was dressed in the New Navy fatigues that went into issue the day before. This one woman came up to me and handed me a bunch of kleenex, as I was a real hot mess of tears, full flushed red face. I thank her many time over for the tissues, and said to her "Oh, Uffda this one - he has cost me more tears than his 4 siblings put together" She said "oh My Dad, he too was in the Navy, and he too always cries when he has come for promotion or ceremonies, to which I kinda laughed and mumbled how it was and has been those ole die hard vet friends of mine who have held me thru the years as I would cry with the normal NavyMaMa worry.
After all was done and the cake was eaten, we went back to my son's house. I felt just drained, kinda like the day that he first left in '97, it was then I cried for a week, in the flower bed, in the shower, everywhere. So I laid down to take a nap, when I later came down, I asked my daughter in law, " who was that lady I was talking to and who gave me kleenex? She said "oh That is ????? - she is the Chief of the Base" I about dropped to the floor! What an awesome wonderful woman! She was later promoted as well, and moved on to another post.
My son and Daughter in law thru a promotion party, several days later, so we were very busy prepping for that, when everyone arrived - we were all out numbered by about 30+ little kids running around all over the house and back yard. along with his navy buddies, and also the entire cul-de-sac of neighbors - it was a wonderful fun long into the night evening! It was a great week in PA. After many delays and interruptions do to COVID, they were able to finally post to Germany, and have now settled into a House, The kids have been home-schooled, i say since they were born, so they have not skipped a beat, and they are all enjoying the moments they have to get out and away to enjoy walks and the country side.
