Hello!  My son left today to return to Norfolk to his squadron.  He was home for 6 days to visit and will be able to come back at Christmas.  Really enjoy him being home and when he's here, I realize how empty the house has been without him.  And now it's quiet again.  Our dog keeps walking around looking for him.  :o(    But.......we did enjoy our time and I'm thankful for this  :o)

His PIR was in Sept 2009 and he just this year in May finished with the schools....went to SERE and is now with his permanent squadron in Norfolk.  Your son is so handsome and I know you're excited to see him!

Hi there!! Hope you remember me..we met at the Nex! Our sons were in the same Div and are in Pensacola for RS. My son is one of the guys that got set back to Phase 1. He was in his room when he was suppose to be somewhere else. This classing up thing is very confusing isn't it? My son has been very discouraged at times and says it isn't what he thought it would be. But wants RS so bad, he is going to do what ever it takes. I miss him so much, as I'm sure you miss your son. I thought it was difficult during Boot Camp, but at least we knew when we would get to see our Sailors!! Flying to P'cola right now is not in my plans. He tells me he won't be home until after school is over. Hope everything is well with you and your family. I'm going to try to go on this site more often. Hugs to you!!

Hope you had a good trip back home. Our train ride was very long due to the snow storm but we made it, and the weekend  was awesome!! Sorry we didn't get a chance to get together. By time we got your message, we had eaten and was about to see a movie. I'm glad our guys are going to Pensacola together. Keep in touch.

In most divisions it is about 50/50 But for the 800 divisions they almost always use the first name because they have a higher security clearance.

Yes, yes, I'm sure you would've gotten a call by now!  Sometimes it's hard to get the real impact of words in a letter and it could be that, although he missed passing that test, he wasn't too far off.  I know that any of these SpecOps programs are tough, but the RDCs are there to help them GET THROUGH, not to snatch them up cackling and pronounce them failures.  They do want them to succeed and will push, push, push them hard to see them do it.  I hope you get another letter today or Monday with the outcome!

Some of the other moms have asked similar questions on some of the forums, from what I understand you would have been called. My son said that he missed his 'live fire' test because he was sick with a 103 temperature for 4 days, but they are letting him make it up, so I think your boy is probably fine. So many things for us moms to worry about! LOL.

I'm so looking forward to meeting you!  What is you son's job?  Mine will be a Diver, if all goes according to his master plan.  :D

I am not sure how the training works, I was under the impression that in BC the division would have the same training and then once they go to A-school their training would be geared to whatever their job was going to be......but I could be totally wrong LOL. My son is going to be a diver so I think that he will have to stay at G.L. a little longer than some of the other guys. I will be interested to see when his actual dive school in Fla. will start, It would be nice if he had a little break in between so we could spend some time with him.

Hi!

Yes, I got my call on Thursday. My son sounded good, although he had been sick like most of the guys. He seems to be doing well. Of course the phone call was way too short

: (. I can't wait until we get to see them graduate!

Hi Navymom74, I have gotten two letters so far, no phone calls though. I can't wait to hear from him on Thursday. Let me know if you hear any news. It sounded like everything was going OK from my boys letters. I will let you know if I hear anything.
