Yayyyyy!!! finally a phone call. We got to talk about 30 minutes!! It was soooo good to hear his voice. He said all is going good. Passing his tests. Got fitted for his blues and whites. Practicing for graduation. Said he misses home, and has had alot of time to reflect and think about things. At goodbye time, he choked up , which made me choke up, so his sister took the phone and talked him through it, but he still was crying when he said, "bye mom, I love you" :'(

Hello, I got a call today from my Son Andrew. Hope you did also? I can not wait for PIR. My son said all the guys there are great and it helps to talk to them also. Hope to see you at PIR. We will be so proud
Hey there, Check out the link for videos above, I am sure I seen you and your son in there towards the end.. It's the one for Mother's Day by Ronny&Anna
No form letter today ;( You can join the "boot camp moms" page and they have lots of great information about graduation and other stuff. I am learning alot. You may also find other moms with kids on his ship and division. I see you got your letter. I am so happy for you. Hopefully mine will come tomorrow. This is killing me!
Happy Mother's Day BirdsMom, this one will be rough first time without Stevie! Yesterday, was hard. I didn't have to work, so too much idle time at home to think...and the rain doesn't help. I think she may have had to have her wisdom teeth pulled :( they say they do it in their first week. Do you think they will graduate on July 6th because of 4th of July weekend or will they do it the next Friday? We are planning on making a Chicago vacation out of it with our boys too, so I would really like to start planning it. I guess we'll find out next week...
I love the scrap book idea!! Have a blessed Mother's Day...hang in there!!
Hey there!! You're from Texas and our kids left from Dallas MEPS right? Yay, I found some comfort in that. Just knowing other moms having all of these emotional ups/downs will be helpful to each other... We got "the box" today, no letter or ship #. I find myself wondering at different times of the day "what she's doing" "is she ok". My daughter is a "girly girl". This decision to join the Navy really through us for a loop. But, I am very proud and I believe she needs this structure & experience. I'm sure gonna miss her!! Right now it feels like she's just at "camp" not "boot camp"...strange I know :) Let me know if you need anything or find anything out about their ship #'s, PIR or anything else really!! HaHa....thanks for friending me ;)
We have a Survival Guide for Navy For Moms Newbie (clickable link). You'll find everything you need to get started. Keep in mind the videos and PDF files may take some time to download the first time you try it. It'll look like nothing is happening.
