Good Morning, Brenda. I just saw your message on my page.  My son was also a swimmer. When he decided to join the Navy, we checked into different jobs and this is the one he really wanted. He joined back in October. FYI, I set up the discussion group on 8/31 PIR page for Div 818. (we were the only group that wasn't set up so even though I don't know what I'm doing, I set it up), please join me over there.

Hello Friend!

Yes, my son is pursuing AIRR as well.  He has not earned a contract yet, but that is what he is focused on acheiving.  Best of luck to your boy.

He shipped out yesterday....  very sad for his girlfriend and sister and I...  He flew from Portland, OR to Chicago all alone....  is it typical to be the lone sailor shipping out?  I am sure it would have been easier on him if he had at least someone else going there when he arrived at O'Hare...  It was good to hear his voice last night even if it was only seconds and someone yelling in the background...  I am trying to be strong for him, but it really is an emotional roller coaster!
