In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).  Still limited to 2 guests maximum.

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

Hi everyone this is my first time posting and I'm not very tech savvy so please bare with me, anyway my son just came off quarantine on Wednesday in bootcamp,  but now I'm hearing he has another 2weeks before I can write or I'll hear from him, which is fine, but I just wanted to encourage him and make sure he was fine, he's my youngest at and 18 and has never been away from us this long. It's really me that's going through anxiety though, has anyone else experienced this ?

Hello LilDsmom!

I'm the creator of the Christian Navy Mom's group.  Thanks for your friend request.  I see that your son is a new recruit and your youngest child.  It's so hard to let them go, especially into the military!  These are challenging times for our country, and it's good to be able to lean on the Lord for our kids, especially when they are far from us.

I wanted to let you know that I am going to delete your post on Saturday which centers on different versions of the bible.  The comments about other versions possibly being connected to Satanic groups has caused some concern in the group.  I feel that your heart is to educate and to share information that you feel is true and could be helpful to others.

The focus of our group, however, is to lift one another up in prayer for each other's sailors, families, and other concerns that any of us have.  We do not discuss denominations,  (we have protestants and Catholics in the group), pentecostals and non-Pentecostals Methodists, Baptists, and non-denominational believers.  We have a variety of women who love the Lord Jesus but choose to worship in various ways and in various churches while focusing on what we can all agree on...God's tender love and concern for us and the fact that He hears our prayers.

That said, we have women who read God's Word in many different versions.  While as individuals we may have different preferences or beliefs about the accuracy of the versions, our group is to encourage prayer and not recommend or discourage others from reading whatever version of the Bible God has led them to.

Your heart to share what you believe about the KJV versus others is best suited to another platform.

Thanks for being part of our group and for understanding the parameters of what we are about.

Good morning LilDsmom!

Thank you for responding to us! It's a blessing to be in touch with you. a new Navy mom. :)

And how awesome to find our you and your husband are Pastors! There's nothing more satisfying that being in ministry and sharing the Gospel of Jesus with those who don't know him. Our ministry has been mostly to single Sailors, Marines and Soldiers the past 21 years as well as those in our neighborhood. I would say that about 2/3 of our neighbors are active duty or retired military. What a blessing ministering to them is for us. :)

If there is any area that we can pray for you in, please don't hesitate to share with us.

Blessings to you and your family.

Yvonne and John

Hi LilDsmom - I saw you had joined BC Mom group but I had some computer issues the other day and am still trying to play catch up. I see you have posted a blog but I want to encourage you to come and post on the BC Mom group page as well - for some guidance in doing that -

Please come to the group page and introduce yourself down in the Comment Wall area. That is where we do most of our daily chatter and more members are likely to see your post there.

This site is best viewed on a computer, so if on a mobile device I have heard that putting it in desktop mode helps. When you come to the group page, be sure to scroll down past the information, past the discussion area and then you will find the comment wall area.

Please feel free to post your questions, ask for information, and share your roller coaster emotions. There is a lot of information on our page and with PIR (graduations) opening back up we are back to answering a lot of those questions as well as trying to glean from our newer members what their experiences are like. Mine has been in the Navy 4 yrs now and is currently out in the fleet.

And yes, your concerns for your child is very common. We do a lot of praying for our SRs (seaman recruits) when they are in BC and we don't know what else to do.

Hi Virginia,

And welcome to our group. Those feelings that you are having are totally normal. I always say that boot camp is for us as much as it's for our loved ones.

Staying busy is key and start writing now so when the form letter comes you can mail those letters off right away!! Let us know if you have any other questions and no question is ever dumb and someone will answer you.

Here are some links for you to read over. They will help out a lot.

***INFORMED DELIVERY UPDATE***

For those of you who have USPS Informed Delivery,  I received an email today that they are discontinuing the App as of 6/12/2021 and you have to download the USPS Informed Delivery Mobile App to your phone.  I just did it and the process is pretty simple.

If you sign up for informed delivery you can see what mail you have coming to you. It's pretty neat!!

Welcome to NAVYforMoms.com!

We ask that our members not use a last name or email address in their Username - even if it differs from their Sailor's - so please head to “Settings” on the main page right away to set your new Username (be creative!) and add a profile image (no last names visible) to complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas.

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.

This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you.  We look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.

Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!
