Dalygirl67,

Yes, as a mom who has two daughters and one son all go in the Navy, I totally agree that is is different for our girls.  Even my son witnessed situations that his sister was dealt that never would have happened to him.  We need to teach our girls to be strong and confident and not put up with crap!!!

I love this group and all the moms who share their lives with us.  It's heartwarming to have sisters who understand so well what we deal with.  Looking forward to getting to know you!!!

Dalygirl67,

I see you recently joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!  I'm glad you found us. So your daughter is in boot camp now? Come join the chat in our group - there is usually someone on every day. We are a friendly, caring group of moms who have daughters in all stages of Navy life - from newbies to those whose daughters have been in for several years - from officer to enlisted!!! We support all our sailor girls and each other as well. Not just during the bootcamp days but the weeks and months following, as they go off to school, first duty station, or first deployment.  Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!!  We look forward to getting to know you and your sailor!! Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!

Still waiting on the phone call and letter too. My sons is ship 12 div 035. I just keep praying for all of them. I am trying to stay positive. I know this is what he has dreamed of. As mom I know getting the call and letter sure would help put my worries to rest. Hope you hear from your SR soon. Anyone else with a loved one in Ship 12 DIV 035?

Click on OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and the Page will open in a new window. Read the Page and follow the directions at the bottom to make change 3 (see the words in bold) so that this page is no longer visible to ANYONE with access to the web. There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

If you know your recruit's PIR date, go to http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that. If you don't know the PIR date, join the group, Leavin' for bootcamp in October, to connect with others with loved ones who left the same day and may have PIR together.

You may want to check out Mom’s of Navy Daughters, Mom's of Daughters 2, and Women in the Navy.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info. What is your recruit's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
