OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).  Still limited to 2 guests maximum.

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

RTC Graduation

**UPDATE 7/16/2021**

**UPDATE - 2020**

Due to COVID there is no public PIR. The graduations are on Thursday, and the video of the graduation is posted on RTC's FaceBook on Friday at approx 3pm. Please keep in mind that a division may need to complete additional quarantine during training which will delay their graduation.

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
It is rather early to state that experience, my son has only been in since March 2011 and just left for his first deployment. So far I have tried to be very supportive and encouraging. I have learned that things are very structured and subject to change at any given moment.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi Debbie,

Thanks so much for the Information, I am interested in the the Candle light vigil. I live about 90 minutes from Mayport. (Lake City) Its where I-75 and I-10 intersect. My son is DC on the ship. His name is Ben Carroll. He has been in the Navy for awhile this is his second deployment. I have added you to my email list and will look you up on Facebook too. I have only been on Navy for Mom just a few months. I am learning alot from others. This deployment has been a little hard on me, because being so far away we don't get to talk as much. Very excited that we are close to time to get to see him. Thanks again for info. Daphane

Hi, "Debbie D," and welcome to Indiana Moms! I'm the administrator for the group, so if you have any questions, please ask. My son is a Nuke MM serving on the submarine ALABAMA, based out of Bangor, WA. He's been in for five years.

If you're near Indy (or willling to drive), there's a monthly informal dinner in Avon (on the west side) which meets on third Mondays. Click Oct. 17 on the Events calendar (right-hand column) for those details. From time to time, we also have regional gatherings in various parts of the state.

Jump in with any questions or comments you may have. I think you'll find we're a nice bunch of folks and always willing to lend an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. Hugs! k.

Hi Debbie. Is your son on the DeWert? My son is an OS on the Dewert. I just sent a box yesterday and I'm curious to see how long it will take to get to him. I sent you a friend request. Sounds like we need to keep in touch. Jen
