PIR 8/6/2010

Posted on September 3, 2011 at 12:08pm 0 Comments

My son graduated boot camp on 8/6/10, he unfortunately didn't carry over on the order form the cost of the cd of graduation.  I contacted Great Lakes and they no longer have any cd's left.  If anyone does have a C and is able to copy it for me, I will gladly forward the cost to you.  I just would like to see if I can get a copy of this wonderful event in our lives.  Thanking you for your help.

Jean, just stay on the PIR site and you will find out if they are making ribbons, etc. for you to wear at PIR. I won't be there....because although I started your group, I'm not IN it. My son graduated in Feb. I just started the group for everyone because no one had done it and I wanted all of the moms to start talking! Sorry you will miss the Meet N Greet, but do try to contact one of the moms on the site and see about what they will wear to (ribbons, pins, etc) to acknowledge each divisiion. Are you staying at the Ramada? If so, you should be able to meet up with some of the moms if they are handing out ribbons.

Jean, there is a website in your form letter listed under "Recruit Graduation." I would go on there and see if there is more info on the extra people for graduation. From all that I have read and heard from others, most "extras" get in. One "veteran" mom told me they all get in...another one said not all of the time. Those 12 and under don't count as part of the 4. I don't think there will be a problem getting his gf in...but the worst that could happen is that she would have to wait and meet up with you all afterwards. I just have a feeling she will get in. Be sure to get there early! If they don't let her in right away, they may make a list of letting extras in by how they arrived. See if you can go on the website listed in your form letter and find more info.

Hey, Graduation is fantastic! Just you wait! I had a great time with both of my sons...and I think my older son was very touched by it too. I was crying during most of it....so proud. My older son had tears in his eyes too! We have had a long journey...the 3 of us snce my husband's death 9 years ago when they were teens. I think we were both thinking how proud he would have been to have seen this.
I see that you asked a question about pictures above. If your son orders Pkg A, he will get the pictures AND the PIR DVD and The Keel (Yearbook). I believe it all costs about $174. He has to order them, you can't. So maybe put that in your next letter or tell him when he calls. He can pay for them and take them to his barracks to give to you at PIR or wait and let you pay and pick them up at the NEX after PIR.
My son seems to be doing good now. For today! You know how THAT goes! One day at a time for all of us! I'm learning to live my life that way! Thanks fo asking!
